Interplay Latvia is proud to announce INTERPLAY EUROPE 2018 Festival of Young Playwrights in LIEPĀJA / Latvia Interplay Europe 2018 will take place in Liepāja city from Monday 18th till Sunday 24th of June 2018. As all three Baltic states – Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania next year are celebrating 100 anniversary of independence, LATVIA INTERPLAY festival is announcing the theme of meeting 2018 – “The Place in Time”. We are looking forward to get talented texts based on European history, about processes here during past 100 years – how they had influenced minds and souls of modern European. Delegates of the festival will be hosted at resort near Liepāja, close to the Baltic sea. Activities will go on both at camping place and in Liepāja city, which is one of most creative cities in Latvia (www.liepaja.lv). Registration fee for Young Playwright’s Delegates (aged between 18 and 26) is 300,- €, Tutor Delegates participate for free. We are looking forward to invite 2 young playwrights and one tutor delegate from each country. Transport from/to Riga airport (capital of Latvia) will be coordinate by the festival team. Arrivals in Riga airport are expected at Monday 18th till 15.00, departures on Saturday 24th from 11.00. Our current activities will take place under a similar schedule of previous Interplay’s editions. Base Group Meetings between breakfast and lunch, several workshops in the afternoon and afterwards free time for One on One. Besides we are planning to prepare one stage reading for public performance from each Base group. At June 23rd here is huge Midsummer night celebration, which is Latvian National holiday – please, plan not to depart on that evening. We cannot say anything certain about weather in Latvia in these days – traditionally it is quite unstable: possible +25, possible +10. But at nights here can be also 0. Interplay’s Representatives are kindly asked to nominate their delegation as soon as possible – we would be pleased to get preliminary information about your delegation not later than at February 1, 2018, the deadline for applications will be 01.04.2018.
