We took a look inside Daisy’s romantic home and instantly fell in love with the soft fabrics, warm colours, and sweet details throughout her interior. On Sunday mornings, you’ll most likely find her in her favourite spot: the kitchen. That’s where she bakes the most delicious cakes and biscuits, surrounded by the scent of fresh dough and vanilla.
Old & new Daisy’s style is a cosy blend of old and new: think recycled wooden furniture, handmade throws, and soft prints. She loves contrasts and harmony. “I love softness balanced with character. A rugged cabinet next to a light curtain, a modern lamp above a vintage dining table – that’s what makes it exciting.”

Jacqueline (45) is a teacher with a retro heart. She brings colour not only to her classroom but also to her home. Daan (31) is an architect with a passion for nature. His industrial home combines a rugged look with a green oasis of plants. “I love the imperfection of nature,” says Daan. “Rough edges, natural shapes – that gives character.” His interior strikes a perfect balance between industrial and organic: linen curtains, rough stone accessories, and a wooden workbench adorned with plants. Here, nature and structure come together in a harmonious whole that not only radiates calm but also energises. These elements create a playful contrast with the clean lines of the space.

Daan has a talent for blending the raw with the refined. On the cabinet sit botanical books and sculptural pots filled with green plants and orchids, providing contrast and colour against the clean lines and calm foundation of the space.

At Kolibri, we have developed our own garden centre table, complete with modern displays and inspiring POS materials. The garden centre table attracts shoppers and encourages cross-selling. Product presentation is tailored in collaboration with the customer to suit the target audience. We supply only one chain per country to ensure originality for the retailer.

We asked several customers about their experience with Kolibri. We were curious to learn what Kolibri’s products and service mean to them.
At De Carlton Garden Centre, Marlon is the familiar face behind the plant department. Have you ever had an orchid that just wouldn’t bloom? Or wondered why the leaves turned yellow? Our orchid expert Sabine has the answers. With her practical tips, she ensures your orchids always look their best.
1.
Watering. “A weekly soak is usually enough. Make sure the roots can drink well, but don’t let water stand in the pot. Are the roots grey? Then it’s time to water, as they are dry.”
2.
Temperature and Humidity.
“Orchids prefer a comfortable temperature between 18 and 22 degrees Celsius. They also appreciate high humidity, so a little misting won’t hurt. Never place them in a draught, as they absolutely dislike that.”
3.
Light, but no direct sun. “Orchids love light, but too much direct sunlight can burn their leaves. Place them in a bright spot, but avoid direct sunlight.”
4.
Cutting back for a second bloom. “Cut a spent stem just above the third node and place it in a dark spot. This gives the plant a chance to bloom again. If your orchid doesn’t bloom again, it might be receiving too little light or fertilizer.”
5.
Feeding (optional). “Feed your orchid with a special orchid fertilizer every two months. This keeps it healthy and strong.”

Solar Energy | With more than 950 solar panels, we generate 285 kW of energy – enough to supply approximately 80 households. We supply this sustainable energy to the community by feeding surplus electricity back into the grid.
Packaging | We offer our customers sustainable alternatives, such as cardboard packaging. This way, everyone can consciously choose a more environmentally friendly solution. Our Kolibri Orchids are packed in recyclable cardboard boxes – a full alternative to the plastic tray and cover.

Climate in the Greenhouse | In the propagation greenhouses, we use an innovative dehumidification system that utilises dry outside air to regulate the climate inside. The sandwich façades we apply here save up to 10 times more energy than traditional glass.
Our finishing department is also equipped with an energy-efficient LED lighting system that uses 40% less energy than conventional systems.
Our greenhouses are masterpieces of efficiency. A smart external screen keeps out the heat when the sun shines too brightly. When it’s cloudy, they let in enough daylight to make optimal use of natural light. This not only saves energy but also creates the perfect climate for our plants to thrive.
Natural Charm | Even flowers that may not be perfect deserve a place to shine. Charm Orchids, our second chance for plants that don’t meet Kolibri’s high standards, still find a loving home. This way, no beauty is lost.
