Jan Heinonen on valmistumassa hallintotieteen maisteriksi Tampereen yliopistolta. Hän on myös opiskellut taideaineita Helsingin yliopistossa sekä Taideteollisessa korkeakoulussa. Hän työskentelee valokuvataiteilijana, jonka lähestymistapa on minimalistinen. Heinonen pyrkii töissään visuaalisesti tutkimaan luonnon dynamiikkaa ja mitä luonto meidän olemassaololle merkitsee. Teoksillaan hän pyrkii luomaan linkin luonnon todellisuuden ja yhteiskunnan epätodellisuuden välillä. Tällä hetkellä Jan Heinonen asuu ja työskentelee Vantaalla.
Jan Heinonen is finishing his degree of the Master of Administrative Sciences on the University of Tampere. He has also studied art at the Helsinki University and Design in Helsinki. He is an artist who generally works with photography. With a subtle minimalistic approach, Heinonen investigates the dynamics of nature, including the manipulation of its effects and the limits of spectacle based on our assumptions of what nature means to us. His works establish a link between the natures reality and that imagined by its conceiver. These works focus on concrete questions that determine our existence. Jan Heinonen currently lives and works in Vantaa.
*** Kolin ympäristötaidefestivaaleille tekemäni ”Nature Proof” teossarja syntyi viime vuoden Islannin työskentelyn tuloksena. Siellä erityisen vaikutuksen minuun teki arktinen maisema ja sen abstraktiset kuvaelementit: jää, vesi ja taivas. Nature Proof sarjassa pyrin välittämään kuvaelementtien ja symbolien kautta kokemuksiani ja tuntemuksiani Islannin oleskelun aikana. Teoksieni mallina toimi Australialainen taiteilija, jonka kanssa tein siellä yhteistyötä. Ympäristötaidenäyttelyn sääolosuhteiden takia päädyin kokeilemaan teoksien kohdalla uutta ”Metallic art” valmistusmenetelmää.

*** Koli environmental art exhibition in the works of “Nature Proof” of a sequence that arose late last year in Iceland, where I was working. There, I was particularly touched by the arctic landscape and its abstractness, ice, water and sky. Iceland last year, the result of the work of “Nature Proof” of a series of works aimed at applying visual ideas and the climate of the region and as well as picture elements such as water, mountains, air, wind, rain, etc. The works of the model is the Australian artist, whom I did there together. Environmental art exhibition due to weather conditions, I ended up with a more sustainable method to try to introduce some of my works, so the works in the exhibition is made up of metal art method.
