The theme for our Speech Day Ceremony is Voices of Tomorrow. At KTJ, we empower our students to use their voices to make a positive impact on the school community, whether through leadership positions, articulating arguments in debate competitions, or showcasing their vocal talents in school performances. By nurturing these essential skills, we are preparing our students to become the changemakers of the future!
One of the most impactful initiatives from the 2024/25 academic year which demonstrated the power of student voice was when the Head Prefect Team delivered an incredibly impactful workshop at the FOBISIA CPD Leaders Conference, hosted by KTJ in March 2025. Their session, ‘Green Goals & Growing Pains: Coaching Student Leaders Towards Sustainable Success’, equipped teachers with practical strategies to help students develop sustainability initiatives within their own schools.
Based on the real-life experiences of our Prefect Team - who have been actively aligning KTJ’s curriculum with the UN Sustainable Development Goals - the workshop shared valuable insights from their journey. Delivering a training session to a room full of seasoned educators is no easy feat, but our students did so with confidence and creativity, incorporating games and role-play into the session In fact, one group of teachers even gave the students a standing ovation!
