Blind Influence By, Linda Riesenberg Fisler Then it started. The siren was the first thing to warn him something was wrong. The golden light turned dark. The bittersweet taste of adrenaline began in his mouth, and he swallowed, trying to quell it. A red flashing light accosted his eyes, and he could see himself running to his home—their home. He ran into the house, unable to catch his breath. He tried to wake himself from the nightmare. He didn’t want to live this again.

About the Book Successful, sexy attorney Nicole Charbonneau feels content with her life and career as a star at a powerful law firm in Washington, DC. She is blind, however, to the circumstances that will put her at the center of a web of deceit, murder, power plays and conspiracies. Across the ocean, British MI-6 Agent Sean Adkins is tracking a cold-blooded assassin known as the Serpent, who’s been hired to kill President Andrews. The Serpent cares only for the millions he’ll get, not why the powerful group of men wants Andrews killed. The Serpent, a master of disguise, completes his job, but will it be his last? Sean will stop at nothing to get revenge, which includes setting a trap. Nicole, through her work and her connection with Robert Jenkins, a powerful young senator who happens to head the Intelligence Committee, pieces together who hired the assassin. Will the senator reveal to the public all he knows, or will revealing the identities of the powerful businessmen, politicians and government officials be too much for a country already in a fragile state? Blind Influence, set in 1979 when the United States was on the brink of its second oil crisis, takes readers on a wild ride of political intrigue and personal discovery.

I just finished The Para-Portage of Emily. Quite the pageturner!! I was gifted a free copy by the author and found it to be a cleverly woven plot with descriptive characters you won’t soon forget. I’m not one to give out spoilers, but if you like paranormal intrigue, hot romance, and mystery, you will love it. Looking forward to more works by Muffy Wilson as I’m sure they will be just as brilliant. ~ By Love To Read

“Tell me what you know about Mariner’s Maiden please, Kirby.” Kirby took a long draw on his beer before he began his narrative.

“It was years ago, around 1800 Miss Emily, when the original land owner arrived on the Island with settlers from Norway. He’d claimed five hundred acres on this southern point of the Island for himself. He became wealthy in cattle, wheat, timber and cheese. As his family grew and were educated on the Mainland, they moved, one by one, off Island. They were a wealthy, hard-working lot, but needed less and less of the acreage they owned. Much of the original plot was donated to the Town throughout the years. Some sections were sold. “It got down to the last hundred acres when Colin Jorgenson bought the property, around 1890 or 1900. I am not exactly sure. The main house was much smaller and less grand than it is now, for sure. “Now, Colin was a Maritime Captain and often he’d be gone for months at a time. He sailed the Great Lakes several times a year with supplies, spices, fancy goods and ‘fortunes of bounty’. That’s what they called it then. It was for sale to rich settlers throughout the Great Lakes. He’d earned all his wealth in trading by the turn of the century. He came and went for several years until, in his mid-thirties, he met and married a much younger woman, Amalya, and came back to the Island with her.” Kirby sat back, drained his beer and continued. “The property was called Mariner’s Cove then. He spent two years with Island tradesmen rebuilding this house for his wife. To honor her, and before his return to the water, he commissioned a maritime woodcarver to create the figurehead of Amalya you saw yesterday on the tree marking the entrance. He had the figure of Amalya mounted on the bow of his ship and apparently felt she was always with him in his travels. She died one summer, pregnant with their first child, shortly after his

returning from his last trip of the season. He shut himself away in this house—a broken man, left forlorn and alone, to die years later of a broken heart as a recluse. It’s said he returns night after night trying to find his Amalya, his beloved.” “But that’s just old folklore, Miss Emily, there’s nothing to it but made up stories from the past by gossips and romantics. This place has never been haunted—no one has ever said it was, anyway. Even though he was long dead, this property was held in Old Colin’s estate until your uncle bought it around 1955, I think. I suppose there is more you can find out at the Archives office in the Island library at the town offices, if you want. That’s about all I know and it ain’t much.” Refusing a second beer, Kirby was off to finish his chores. “Thank you, Miss Emily,” Kirby said as he stood to leave. Emily walked him to the door with Barkley in tow. “Oh, there is one more thing” he added. “There is supposed to be a crypt on the property somewhere. I heard tell that Old Colin buried his Amalya in there and when he was dying, he crawled into it to die on her casket. Creepy, but no one’s ever found it to my knowledge—and between me and my dad, we’ve covered this property as caretakers for over fifty years.” Emily extended her hand in gratitude for the information and company. “Thank you, Kirby. All of that is so very interesting. He must have been deeply in love with Amalya.” Kirby, a middle-aged man, stood and shook Emily’s hand. He turned to leave, stopped and dropped his head as he hesitated at the bottom of the steps. A simple country man, this time was no different. “Miss Emily…” He looked up at her rather sheepishly, and stuttered slightly, “Forgive me, Miss Emily, if I offend you. I have been a bachelor all my life and never had a way with

women or much of a need for them. Oh, don’t get me wrong, I like ‘em well enough, but I never was able to pick the right words in their presence. If…if you don’t mind my saying…you look an awful lot like those paintings in the house of Miss Amalya.” “Oh my word, Kirby, how you flatter me! It is purely a coincidence, I assure you.” Emily smiled, as she dismissed the compliment and waved good-bye at Kirby. As he left, she thought about the love shared between these two remarkable people, Colin and Amalya. Amalya and Colin. She had forgotten to ask what became of the baby… Fall in Love with the Island and Mariner's Maiden This is a story to savor. Ms. Wilson's descriptions are poetic and enthralling, placing the reader in the midst of the story, and the relaxed pace of the story does not lessen the power of suspense. Shrouded in mystery, romance, and eroticism, "The Para-Portage of Emily" is a treat for the senses, a haunting indulgence. Despite hints throughout, the ending still surprised me, and though satisfied, I regretted the literary journey's end. Highly recommended. I look forward to more from this promising series. ~ By Jordan Stringfellow

Cross Genre Paranormal Erotic Mystery Should John Grisham and EL James have a secret love child, she would no doubt pen legal thrillers with a luscious layer of the erotic. They would name their child Muffy Wilson and send her to Stephen King for some pointers in the paranormal. Wilson, in the obliquely titled "The Para-Portage of Emily", interweaves these three diverse genres into a compelling, magic carpet of a novel that takes Emily Macque from Chicago to a bitter island estate two hundred miles north in the frozen sea. Emily is the striking junior partner in her father’s law firm, her mission, to settle the probate on an estate, her destiny to fall into the arms of Colin Jorgenson, a seaman haunted by a past love that torments his life. Intelligent, well-written, with fully fleshed out characters and a story with more twists than a spiral staircase, "The ParaPortage of Emily" had me gripped until the very last page. ~ By Chloe

About the Author: Winning an essay contest for Fannie Mae landed me on Good Morning America, spring 2000 under the maiden name: Victoria A. Martin. My appearance encouraged and brought to fruition that my writing can move people. I developed a passion for writing inspiring themes whether it's in poetry, plays, screenplays, or novels. Presenting my characters with challenging situations and allowing their emotions to guide me gives me the greatest pleasure with writing. I've written and produced three 2 hour plays and three short plays affording me the opportunity to refine my skills on my first novel trilogy: Passion Whispers an Execution. I developed the love for the arts at the age of thirteen when I had a report due one Monday. I ran the streets with my friends disregarding report. Aware that my parents were going to scold me if I didn't have the report completed, I stood home one Sunday ignoring all calls. And read a book in one day: Lorraine Hansberry, A Raisin in the Sun. The report took me about three hours to complete. From that point, I fell in love with poetry and how words can tell a beautiful story. My writing has been compared to Quentin Tarantino with a classic flair, emotional and provocative. I believe in writing oh my God stories, which close out with a bang and bring a joyous spirit to the human experience.

When I'm not sitting in my office scrambling my brain for flawed characterization, I enjoy reading, producing fashion shows, designing fashions, traveling, using my creativity for church functions, and choreographing praise dancing. Dancing has been incorporated in all my plays as well as my first novel. I've danced ballet, jazz, African, and contemporary from the age of thirteen. I was truly blessed to have my dancers perform for Congressman Charlie Rangel. They were also given the opportunity to perform at all-paidexpense trips traveling out of New York State for church retreats. Today my dancers are in college and some took on the role of motherhood. I give thanks to God for keeping them.

Quick Fire Q&A With Author, JeanĂŠ Sashi

1). Coffee or tea? I prefer tea, but on very cold days and days when I need that extra boost, coffee is it. I do enjoy a Caramel Frappacino (sp) with extra caramel and extra whipped cream. 2). Which celebrity would you marry...no questions asked? Idris Elba would my dream husband. I know I'm only dreaming, but his British accent matches his European look so well.

3). Favorite character from your books? My favorite character from my book, Intimate Moments, is the underdog, Marcus Anderson. He is in love with the past and really doesn't want to give it up. From The J Spot, it's Rhonda. She knows she is out of place but keeps trying nonetheless. 4). What is your favorite dish to cook or order from a restaurant? As I love too cook and bake, and prefer being in the kitchen as opposed to going out to eat, I love Italian dishes. I enjoy making different variations of pasta. 5). Where do you see yourself in 5 years? In 5 years, I see myself signed with one of the top publishing companies in the business, and my name being that listed right along with Danielle Steele, Jackie Collins, E.L. James, J.K. Rowlings, Sylvia Day, etc.

Her freshman, debut novel, “Intimate Moments” was the start of her novel writing career. Being a native of Los Angeles, California, now residing in Texas, Jeané Sashi always knew she would become an author, even as she was taking an unlikely path to that destination. In 2010 her self-published manuals “Rebuilding You! Cleaning Up Your Credit…Yourself!” followed shortly by “Considering a Home Based Business,” both which are eBooks and published under her full name, Jeané Elliott Bennett, were written while writing her first novel, “Intimate Moments”, which was originally published and released on May 16, 2011. She took a few short stories that she had written that were sitting in her computer for years and made them come to life in book form, which manifested the novel “Intimate Moments.”

Her second novel "The J Spot" was originally published and released on February 16, 2012; nine months after the release of her first novel, which is a spin off of "Intimate Moments". She wanted to write books as entertaining as any book on the market, and have the book still be a page-turner. Within, it’s first month of being release, “Intimate Moments” received it’s first 5-star review on Amazon and another 5-star rating on Barnes and Noble. Both novels have become 5-star reads. Allow The Book Nymph PR to introduce, Celia Kennedy, the author of Venus Rising and Charlotte's Restrained. Today we get a look at what books have inspired her and remained with her throughout the years.

Celia Kennedy was born in Wurzburg, Germany on an American Army base. Her parents' penchant for traveling the world, via a Volkswagen Minibus with a Porsche engine, sparked her imagination. Staring out the window, sometimes through fog and rain, at other times at sunny blue skies, she began to make up stories for the places and spaces they passed by. The in-between time, the most fascinating to her.

The imagined world has always fascinated Celia. She has studied Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Interior Design, and pretty much every other subject matter. Like her childhood, it was the ride that was the most entertaining, arrival at a degree, not anywhere as important. Mark Twain said, "Write what you know." When combining this concept with her unusual life experiences (working at a nuclear submarine base when Chernobyl blew, testing software Bill Gates kept close tabs on, travelling extensively while quite broke, or falling in love with her boyfriend's close friend) thinking of what to write about isn't challenging; there just needs to be more hours in the day. Celia published Charlotte's Restrained, The Accidental Stalker in December of 2012 and Venus Rising in August of 2013. Look for Kathleen's Undressed, The Accidental Enigma, a companion novel to Charlotte's Restrained, to be published in November 2014. Currently she lives in Washington State with the loves of her life.

An Interview with Debbie White, the author of The Salty Dog, and Passport to Happiness

Where are you from? I was born in Petaluma, California. However, my dad was in the Air Force and we traveled a bit, and then I married someone in the Air Force and we traveled some more. We moved back to California in 2005 to help care for elderly parents. We call California home for the time being. What inspired you to write your first book? I hope readers won’t take this wrong and see me as being conceded‌I’ve read a lot of books. I actually used to work in a library so I had access to many. After more than one time of

reading mediocre books, I felt I could at least take a stab at it and see what I could do. I’m improving with each book, but I’m no Nicholas Sparks (although one of my reviews said they enjoyed my book as much as one of his!) Do you write full-time or part-time? How do you balance your writing life with your family/work life? I work outside the home full-time so writing for me is part-time. I also have an elderly mom who I spend a lot of time with. I’ve been known to get out of bed because I can’t sleep and type away. I also jot things down while I’m at work, typing them in later. How did you come up with the title? Both of my titles are self-explanatory. Passport To Happiness involves a real passport for travel, and The Salty Dog is the name of the boat that trolls the salt water off the coast of California. Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp? All my books feature strong, independent women. That’s the new sexy, ya know!

Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life? Event’s in my own life with details embellished to make them a bit more interesting. What book are you reading now? I’m reading an Elizabeth Berg book, Once Upon A Time You Were Here. Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest? Yes. My friend and fellow author Bethany Turner. What are your current projects? I’m working on two. I’m in the middle of editing my very first book. I didn’t use a professional editor so it had a lot of things wrong with it. I decided (based on advice from a friend/reviewer) to work on my characters, and fix the grammar issues. I’m almost done with my part, and then I’ll send it to my fabulous editor. The other project I’m working on is loosely based on my moms’ adoption. It will be more of a romantic suspense. Name one entity that you feel supported you outside of family members. I’ve gotten a lot of help from so many, but if I had to name one…hmmm…it’s a toss up between Twitter and Facebook. If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?

No, I’m satisfied with the latest book. My second book The Salty Dog – maybe a different cover. I’ve had a couple of people suggest that I change it. When I mention I’m going to change it to others they are outraged. Don’t change it, they say! Who designed the covers? It was a collaborative effort (hubby and myself!) What was the hardest part of writing your book? Writing is easy, it’s the editing that I hate! Do you have any advice for other writers? Just that it is rare that your book will become a best-seller so hang in there and keep writing. Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers? To my readers…I hope you’ll continue to follow me and read my books. I feel I have a place in this industry if given enough of a chance. For readers of your wonderful blog, I hope they take a chance on me. What do you think about e-publishing versus technical publishing?

I think e-publishing is great, but it’s hard to get the word out about our work. Marketing is hard, and most of us are struggling and on budgets. I’m blessed I have a job that I earn money regularly so I can invest a little more into marketing. If you could live anywhere, where would it be?

Well, I’m living in a pretty cool place right now. Northern California is beautiful. However, my darling granddaughters live on the east coast. Ideally, if I could maintain two homes, one on the west coast and one on the east, I’d be a happy camper! Thank you for taking the time to chat with us, Debbie! Good luck with your writing pursuits.

Today we get an in-depth look at author, Maya DeLeina's writing process!

Writing Process and Inspiration By, Maya DeLeina My writing is typically done at night or early morning. If I happen to write during the day, it’s usually because it is in the middle of a snow or thunderstorm. The time of day and what the weather holds really plays a key role in inspiration. When I sit down and write, I read back on the last chapter written or skim through the chapters. I close my eyes to envision the scene, as if a movie. I don’t work with an outline- most times I don’t know where I am going with a story until I sit down and I “see” where I want to go. All in all, I read to escape reality. Because of this, my goal in writing is to create a world

that is vivid enough for the reader to sense it all around them as they read to the point that their immediate environment vanishes. Travel and music are my primary sources of inspiration. I have seen many amazing and rousing places that I have adapted into stories or used a little piece of reality to create a fictional world. Case in point, my girlfriends and I had a very memorable trip to a tree house in Colorado. When we arrived, the photos we saw online of the place didn’t do it any justice. The tree house was simply magnificent. A good balance of manmad materials and natural elements made up the tree house. For my story, I thought more along the lines of something almost “hobbit-like” so I incorporated natural elements more so than man-made. As far as music is concerned, I could be in the middle of a blizzard in Colorado, but feel like I’m walking along dry and dusty earth in a Marrakesh bazaar, my eyes absorbing the bold, jeweled-tone colors of fabrics and taking in a healthy whiff of the exotic spices. Typically, I have Pandora tuned to my stations to provide inspirational settings that takes me halfway around the world without leaving the couch. Check it out:
