Yassıada Mapping Observation Throughout history, Yassıada always persons/ institutions to be sold off. The island was the execution of shoots. Nowadays, whether the granting of planning permission to remove the protected status that is based on rent and fully with the start of construction is on the agenda. The status of being the name most of the time, has been problematic for urban. Of city dwellers that can intervene easy the islands often, sometimes as close as is gets hurt, but after that she would leave, he would leave as far as.

Location “Start”, and give back the island in order to observe more closely the damage on the island the northwest of the widest viewing angle in the nose is positioned. At the same time the destruction of most of the skyline of the island is a region that can be read on the net.

Yassıda, Past, Present And Future...

After the occupation, the transformation of the materials. The formation of the main structure;

Structure Formation and beginning the process of building and construction, and who opposed the destruction of the invaders arrive to the island of the island begins with the plunder of materials from identification and from the city.

The basic design principle of the project, is to provide maximum gain with minimum intervention to the island. Therefore, the process of the project who oppose the invaders looted the city and of the island sermayelesme the construction of the transformation of materials transported to the island from balar.

Concept Yassıada Nature Observatory on the island with construction starting in 2015, in line with these observations to observe the destruction of nature and nature is a project that aims to get back to work. Lost or endangered plants the process of observation, documentation and re-cultivation is planned to progress in. Rapidly evolving, growing, and cities that no longer consume and capitalism alone are not sufficient to limit the search for mankind a perpetual property due to urbanization, the islands are starting to put a stop to a “starter”.

Laboratory

“Inceptıon”, the destruction brought by the invaders on the island to detect the samples in a laboratory environment are working. Damage is detected and is partially resolved after the island will remain uninhabited.

X. ISTANBUL INTERNATIONAL ARCHITECTURE AND URBAN FILMS FESTIVAL Architecture Workshops Projection Cities

PROJECTION CITIES Cinematic Architecture Projection Mapping and Short Movie 2016

Coporation with Elif Sidar Ökdemir

Understanding the ‘Projections Cities’ The quantity of every element of the perception of the urban city is considered to be defined and measured. The city plan also this architecture definition. The city item is, that all measures be described by the distance tells of his relationship with the residents of the city. “Urban main theme of the film; The feature is linked with the heart through the word. Day by day, technology, transformation and change of the economic system is changing our perception of the effects of the increase of some distance directly. Sometimes extending distances, sometimes it brings.”1 Thanks to new transport tools as technology evolves, distances are getting shorter. For example, in 3 days we’re going to the way we are able to reach in about 40 minutes. The negative aspect of this situation, the journey to the nature of these tools and experiences gained during the destruction of negative effects. Technology also provides rapid dissemination of information. If this information is incorrect, you can reach audiences in a short time. This is easily the interaction between people, socialization, relationships, deep tarnishing. This is the same effect on Cities. With technology growing, changing, and transforming cities to live is very hard. This perception of the change in future when considering their impact on the city and architecture that brought us two different urban scenario. These two different future scenarios according to the concept of the city we have designed two different. Understanding any place of this city don’t. Construct scenarios of the future of these cities existing cities, rather than two different predictions for the future of assessment. Premature and unwarranted to be so was preferred. First, urban design, contemporary urban transformations that evolve with time occurs as a result of the perception of the new city, a city where nature was completely destroyed. It is impossible to live in this city built densely because of the cold and dark. Of the sun’s rays becomes harmful, natural disasters such as lack of oxygen, despite the technology with destroyed lives, technology continues. New shelters were established with a special substance that is produced under the ground. Place walked into city life. The city applied to the design of the second ‘edit’ is a city that is built on. This layout also adopted urban concept today. Each individual will work for, will read, which determines where you will spend time and the entire scheme is dominated by the city, which the understanding. Engine life of individuals and their lives, they will question it will be boring after a while. “As a prediction that leads to the conclusion that will create problems for users in the two cities will be different. First, the destruction of technology and natural resources that will bring serious problems in the city as well as in other cities, we will have extreme bad effects on the architectural and social life of the order. The people in the two cities and at the end they’ll have to take action to change it.”2

The situation described in our scenario actually presented a challenge. Today, the majority of urban transformation, what he thinks is right, and render the city uninhabitable architectural conception of the economy presented a challenge to the pretext. Lebbeus woods is a good example of this. Woods-age architecture of the simulation. Shall be constructed of doing things, architecture and project architect with the media the lack of genuinely can be understood. Woods is the simulation of an architecture, and all that exists in architectural representation, architecture, built refuses. What can be seen as a graphic novel. A real war when American soldiers in Somalia can be simulated in the audience at CNN are the components of If is the fact that wood in Architecture. Expressed in bitter political books-architectural facts without doubt is real. Them we know they’re there. The fact that the simulation are subjected to them doesn’t mean they are worthless. Then, the media of political and humanitarian events, re-generating, by simulating turn into news, and the discourse of the woods, in the field of architecture and design has done for it can be argued that the same thing. Predicted simulation in the understanding of the two cities.

Were sacrificed to the city’s economic development, and is as real as the removal of the poor from the city. The front that we see urban fiction, urban dwellers at the forefront of the city’s takeover of the structures of the problems. We produce and read the script after watching urban simulation, will think of their problems in the destruction of these cities. In a situation where you have two cities, the new leader of the city, the spontaneous and will reshape the viewer’s interpretations. To test whether this city is reflected in the projections of the model was performed. To be added on the model design was to create moving images. Method two urban projection mapping but in three dimensions a single model of fiction and made more understandable. White cardboard with a model was performed. Projected on the projection angle and the projection onto the distance was kept constant. Drawings were made with the help of Photoshop on the model. Various images added. Of the city after the items has been established, the isolation of the residents of the city reflected in the form of a dot. This point and the character of this job. The audience will think this. In the first scenario under the natural areas are destroyed at that point when you are taken. Those that don’t live there either, but they’re bursting spots. The monotonous stresses of life in fiction second. After trying moving these points with the help of Photoshop on model became. The main axles and are kept fixed by changing the locations of these points were recorded in JPEG format. With the help of video projection is reflected and converted into the iMovie program. Projected and projected urban fiction was given the name of Projection Cities.

HEYBELIADA PRIMARY SCHOOLCIReserach Project Exhibition& Presentation 2019

Coporation with Ecem Altıntaş, Nisa Nur Özkan

Heybeliada Primary School The Heybeliada Elementary School was designed in 1967 by the architect Yılmaz Ergüvenç, and was implemented by A. Turhan Uyaroğlu. The building was located on a 2435 square meters building area in an inclined area with a view of Burgazada and Kinaliada, right next to the Heybeliada Forest, an urban protected area. Heybeliada Primary School was an elementary school with 14 classrooms built around an atrium and composed of fragmented masses sitting on topography. In the period in which the building was designed, a single-mass and rectangular school buildings prepared by the Ministry of Public Works for the whole country were generally applied, and a project consisting of fragmented masses was considered considering the topography of the land in Heybeliada and the negative impact on the silhouette. The building, which has an important place in the memory of island life, has been designed at the user scale and in accordance with the island texture. It is seen in the old documents and photographs that the structure of the building and the fiction of space reflect the modernist period. The courtyard with a view of the other islands also provided a controlled open space for the students who were the users of the structure. The low-storied, sloping structure and landscape of the structure also adapted to the silhouette of the island. In 1990, the library, which underwent a structure-functional change, was used as a kindergarten. In the following years, as the structure became damaged, the classrooms in block C were closed and a canteen structure was built between blocks B and C. The school has an important place in the memory of not only the students but also the inhabitants of the island. With the social and cultural activities of the island in the theater of the school, the structure has a symbolic importance for the island life. as the only primary school of the island. Although the Heybeliada Primary School was registered as a cultural property, the building was destroyed due to the damage it had received in recent years and the earthquake-resistant structure, but was not replaced. In 2002, the reinforced concrete building, which was built for temporary use in the school yard, was used as Heybeliada Primary School, and the Heybeliada Primary School building, which was built in 1967, was abandoned. Instead of the Yılmaz Ergüvenç structure, which was demolished in 2008, a three-storey building of Heybeliada Primary School was built. The building, which was used as a temporary school for a temporary period, was used as Heybeliada Anatolian High School building. Existing buildings questioned the inadequacy of garden use, incompatibility with topography and built environment, problems in user-building relationship and the architectural quality of the changing educational spaces.

City Harbour /This ancient harbour consists of two inner connected harbours hosting fish restaurants and cafes which are not fully efficient. There is the ferry for cars, comes every 15 min. between Lapseki and Gelibolu, which makes the traffic jam in the center. The square near the fish market is also undefined, not a welcoming space for visitors. Students are expected to redesign this public space solving the existing problems. A city museum will be designed in detail.

Analysis Coporation with Elif Sidar Ökdemir, Kübra Gündoğdu, Berivan Ceren Danış, Hanife Akça

The area where is located the castle of Bastion a result of the analysis, the city has been identified as the entrance of the museum. In the design of the input mass of visitors to be directed after whether it requires advancing into the middle of the mass according to the function of this building is in the form of the mass has formed. Once the plan has been defined in the transaction by abstracting this movement, the structure of the building and to the front is reflected. The second part of the Museum, the panorama of the city can see the exhibition at mass area. About the city in this area of research will be presented. Third, it has offices in mass.

The museum sits in contrast with the design of the historic tissue. To alleviate this situation and ensure harmony with the environment and open glass facades, interior structure designed. Located on the second floor, the exhibition space was conceived as public space for the mass of six. Under this field, a conference hall designed. In connection with the entry mass and the mass of the Office conference room is designed. Will be found under the about the area where the city was designed.

PERA SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE University 5000 m2 PERA,ISTANBUL,TURKEY 2015

ARCHITECTURAL DESGIN PROF.DR. AYKUT KARAMAN RA. MELTEM ÇETİNEL

Designed in Pera district, close to the location of Refik Saydam Street, School of architecture is designed in the this street. By keeping the distance between the buildings with historic buildings, futuristic building made in the race wasn’t long. Abstract and conceptual dimensions of architectural education is designed to teach at this school, the building is designed in a form inspired by the vague future. In contrast with the historic context of this building to be done and maybe discussed can be queried. In addition, it’s arguable that even in this area of a university building. A secondary challenge is designed to Meşrutiyet Street by three meters below. The interior of this challenge, conference room, exhibition hall, and the second input to establish a relationship with the University. The strengthening of this relationship between Constitution Avenue and Avenue a new pedestrian passage is designed as Refik Saydam. A variety of workshops and classes is placed on denims and in the interior, mobility and custom fields have been created.

OKTAHEDRAL Digital Design LIGHT AND SCULPTURE 2015

Course Aims Introduction to Digital Design (Arch 284) aims to introduce digital design methods and tools and methods at architectural design process. Computer aided design and fabrication tools, the relation between digital environments and architectural design process; introduction to creative and generative design methods.

Context In the first stage of the design, The location was chosen. This venue has been selected as the conference hall of Istanbul Kemerburgaz University. The light from the window at floor height to be taken the rest of the field can be selected and made to be used for this place. Interior analysis was performed, and the inclinations of the people according to plan was drawn up. This sketch was the placement of the statue and the lighting that will prepare a plan.

Concept Eight-faced, Geometry, eight-sided (octahedral), the plane is an object that is surrounded with a piece of eight. Eight-faced, three-dimensional appearance. All objects and surfaces consisting of eight equilateral triangles equal to each other properly if the base is eight-faced is called. The goal is to form the cube from eight full-faced variations. Mentioned in the description, identical surfaces were deformed. Edge kept parallel to the fixed coordinates of the eight ABCD was played with face and other surfaces.

Process The cube is modeled in the program grasshopper. Eight-coordinate of the face that may occur 6 were determined, and the variation of these points for obtaining the necessary command has been entered. Incorrect in 4 different command variations was eliminated. Selected the full mass was determined. The Pharisees selected eight light and shadow, movement, were placed according to the aesthetic concept. Light as a result of peak hour analyses, some Pharisees inside the evacuated eight. The ground light changes at certain times of the shadow games emphasized the variability of the design.

Computational Technics Obtained from the variations of the grasshopper program. Analysis was performed by adjusting the placement of the light in the program rhinoceros. By making the surface of the mass was transferred to the AutoCAD program. The cut surfaces with laser cutting, folding and pasting actions meshing was performed.

Material The Pharisees in the place of eight concrete floor red white color was chosen to create contrast with texture. To alleviate the sensation of cold in the interior painted with warm yellow color of the form and reflection of light illuminated a color space.

CUBE DESIGN Abstract Movement BASIC DESIGN 2011

Required in the design of the cube, the cube structure 30x30 in size after obtaining a cube of the same size as 27 in the cube. This structure is created after design was asked to be done by abstracting any movement inside the cube. Made design is abstracted in a Live running movement. Speed has been symbolized with the Start and end of the movement forms. Design movement is examined, it is observed that at speeds of vague and ambiguous in form. After the layers are removed, so that twodimensionally in the form of the movement continues itself in three dimensions.

HEYBELIADA WINDMILL STRUCTURE ANALYSIS CONTINUITY OF STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS IN ARCHITECTURE Historical Windmill 8000 m2 İSTANBUL, HEYBELIADA 2018

Heybeliada historical windmill is in a special area used as a recreation area. Asking for a fee to enter this region, which lost the quality of public space and afforested by the islanders, removed the islanders both from the nose of the mill and from the mill structure. Today, it is forbidden to enter the building because there is a danger of collapse. The originality of the structure has mostly disappeared. Intervention in the interior destroyed the traces of the mill. The continuity of the structure continued as a city terrace, and stone parapet walls and the change of the door form were added.

In 1963-1971, a plan was formed by interview with Hatice Sönmez who lived in Değirmen. Mrs. Hatice was born in this structure and lived until she was 7 years old. When the building gained the function of housing, there was no trace of the mill level while the roof of the building was covered with glass. The interior and exterior wooden doors, which were thought to be the original gate of the mill, were planted. The stove is located in the middle of the structure. It was used in the gas stove at the entrance of the door. The oval cedar which was cut according to the structure was used as a bed for Hatice Hanım, her two siblings, her father and her mother. On the façade, the original appearance of the door was observed before the restoration. Since the continuity of the building is provided as a residence, the period of the glass roof in the building is not known.

Result The function of the historical mill from the 1700s onwards is supported by analysis in which the facades and scale are actively used. The mass and robustness of the form of the structure contribute to the continuity of the structure. Today, in accordance with the original traces of the structure, studies are being carried out to make the windmill function by making use of research. These studies aim at the continuity of the cultural heritage and memory of the mill structure.

D-100 HIGHWAY: OBSERVATION OF CHANGE BEGONYALI STREET AND SENYUVA STREET Bahçelievler, Bakırköy/İSANBUL

BUILDING AND DESIGN THEORY MASTER PROGRAM MIMAR SINAN FINE ART UNIVERSITY 2018

Defining Borders In the analysis process of Bahรงelievler region, factory lands, construction and D-100 Highway were concentrated. When we examine the macroform of Istanbul, it can be seen that it is parallel to this section in Bahรงelievler. In the determination of the problems, personal observations were spread from the surveys and the D-100 highway and its boundary in the city were problematized. The relationship between this boundary effect and the two districts was examined. It was read through the streets of Shenyuva and Begonia, which played an important role in this relationship.

Identifying Problems Metrobus Pedestrian Crossing On the map of Bahçelievler, the gray marked area is Şenyuva Street and Begonyalı Streets. These streets are connected by 4 lanes of vehicles and pedestrian crossings. Other crossings between Bahçelievler and Bakırköy are provided through Bahçelievler Metrobus stop, İncirli bridge underpass and Şenyuva Street and Begonyalı street underpass. Pedestrians use these streets to reach the coastline in 45 minutes. However, the lack of pedestrian roads prevents the passage between Begonyalı Street and Şenyuva Street. It is envisaged that the metrobus overpass is dense and the pedestrian underpass on the Incirli side is dangerous and will play an important role if this route is arranged. The red lines and stops shown on the map show the boundaries on this route better. The fact that metro stops do not have underpasses is also an important problem. The fact that Bahçelievler Metro stop is so close to the residential areas and that there is no underpass on the Bakırköy side shows the inadequacy of the 3 meter wide pedestrian overpass. Positioning of Training Structures around D-100 Highway When we examine the functions of the buildings around D-100 highway, we see the density of educational structures such as primary, secondary, high school and university. The negative impacts of the D-100 highway, such as noise and air pollution, have been observed.

Begonyalı Street and Şenyuva Street Underpass for Functioning of Pedestrians Begonyalı Street and Şenyuva Streets housing, school and so on. It has been identified as an intensive function for this street texture. This reinforces the pedestrian crossing between the two streets. There are two public hospitals in Şenyuva Street. The intense pedestrian circulation brought by the hospitals strengthens the passage between the streets. However, due to the 50 cm sidewalk in the underpass, wheeled pedestrians use the road.

Defining the Problem: Finding a 5-meter elevation difference on the Begonyalı Street that was created by the construction of the underpass The 5-meter slope at Begonyalı Street was opened due to the underpass construction. This means that pedestrians extend at least 20 meters of path to cross the pavement. In addition, this has a negative effect on the hospital structure on the street.

In 1960, Housing and Industry of Bahcelievler Areas

İzzettin Çalışlar Caddesi

Effects of City Characteristics on Industrial Site Selection There are two types of industrial structures in our country. The first is large-scale industries, often established far from the city center. The second type is the industrial types connected to the city market in the city center. Large industries are often built on major roads connecting the city to its surroundings, on soils that have not yet undergone major speculative value increases, and on land that is too large for their own needs. The concentration of large and medium-sized industries in a certain area of the city has raised the price of land and led to the development of shanty-type houses around them. The industries established around the city tend to be established on highways wherever they obtain raw materials or send their goods. Medium-sized industries often choose land closer to the city. They tend to select these areas, especially if there are organized industrial zones in that region. On the other hand, small industries tend to take advantage of the external economies created in the center and choose a place in the city center in order to be close to the customers and the enterprises and commercial institutions where they buy raw materials. The growth of small industrialists will create a need for new land, but this is limited in the center. The future of the land of the industrialist who left his land and established a new industrial zone outside the city is shaped in two options. It can be transformed from production activities into sales offices, or companies with high solvency in the city center will want to take over these lands. There are two factors that prevent industrialists from opting to move out of the city. Firstly, the industries that resist moving out of the city and staying in the center are much more advantageous than those outside the city. Either all industries must be moved at once or none should move. The second issue is considered as a regular settlement of the industry moving out of the city and the solution is tried to be found in the Organized Industrial Zones. While organized industrial zones obtain reasonable prices when they demand land from the already developing regions of the industry, their use as a means of attracting industry to undeveloped regions is not successful. Organized industrial zones can only be used as a means of deconcentration of industry at short distances around the city. In general, it can be said that thanks to a planning application that leaves the development of the city to the market mechanism, while the industries are formed in and around the city center, industrial land use is made by making use of the land market. The abandonment of industrial site selection to market forces shows not only the instability of urban planning practice, but also its instability in industrialization policies.

Housing and Industry of Bahcelievler Of Structures on Their Functions

1970-2018 The Impact of D-100 Highway on Construction

When the analysis of the construction of Bahçelievler is examined, it can be seen that in 1970, the development has developed in and around London Asphalt. Industrial areas are located close to the D-100 highway. In 1980, the construction increased by 2.5 times. The D-100 highway is enlarged. It is observed that most of the present structures were built in 1980. It is seen that there is a similarity between the building sequences between Bakırköy and Bahçelievler. Bahçelievler Bakırköy was established as a continuation of the nature of the planned. But today, there are about 15 houses left in the private gardens. When we look at the map of 2017, it was observed that shopping centers, sites, residences and construction increased.

1970-2018 Investigation of Green Areas on D-100 Highway and its Surroundings When the construction analysis of Bahçelievler is examined, it is seen that the building density increased to a maximum in 1980. The population density increased from 50,000 in 1970 to 160,000 in 1980. This affects the reduction of green areas. Increasing the need for housing, unplanned construction, lack of infrastructure, increased the construction density in Bahçelievler. In 1970, it was learned that people had set up a tent and had a picnic in the right area where the green area was seen on the map. In the interview with Filiz Ayla, it was learned that people had set up tents in spring and the activities that heralded the spring to the surrounding people. The construction continues in 1980 and later and the green areas remain as green bands on the D-100 highway. Bakırköy Municipality Botanic Park, which was established in 2013, has been observed as an active green area. When we compare the usage of green areas periodically, the green areas where animals were grazed, farming, tents, picnics were transformed into land areas, residential areas or road areas that were obligatory until the 1970s. Even though there are green areas among the residential areas, the functions of the past periods cannot be provided today.

1970- 2017 THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ŞENYUVA STREET AND BEGONYALI STREET ON D-100 HIGHWAY

Investigation of Begonyalı Street When the 1970 map is examined, it is seen that Begonyalı Street and D-100 highway are connected to each other. Nowadays, this connection only supports vehicle access. The buildings located in Begonyalı Street functioned as factories and trade in 1970s. Nowadays, it has been processed in sections where factory areas are transformed into residence projects. These projects will have a negative impact on the newly established neighborhood culture and housing density in Begonyali Street. The residence project will also cause physical problems to the surrounding houses. The pedestrian density is usually increased due to the hospital located on this street. Street inhabitants do not often cross the Bakirkoy side due to their proximity to the transportation zone.

Şekil 2 Şenyuva Sokak

Şekil 8

Investigation of Şenyuva Street When the 1970 maps are examined, Şenyuva Street and D-100 Highway are not separate vehicles and pedestrian crossings. As the D-100 highway expands, it joins with Begonyalı Street and is connected with an underpass. For this reason, the road that appears as a path has turned into a 4-lane vehicle road. The site structure examined in this residential dwelling is remarkable with masonry brick apartments and garden usage. The deterioration of street texture strengthened the neighborhood relations. However, the density of vehicles and noise and environmental pollution has forced users to socialize in the courtyards of buildings. Green density and benches were observed in the courtyards. Direct access to the courtyards is only on the ground floor. Residents on the other floors pass from the entrance of the apartment to the back gardens. The educational structures located in the districts of Şenyuva Street increase the pedestrian circulation of the hospitals. The density on the street is increased by Bahçelievler by pedestrians and street residents.

Şekil 3

INVESTIGATION OF UNDERPASS

When we examine the route of the user in the photograph, it was observed that he got off the bus stop and reached the hospital. However, due to the dense pedestrian overpass, the route it follows is the same as on the map. Since the pavement of the underpass is 50 cm, the pedestrian has provided the passage through the road with a disabled car. This dangerous situation was learned by interview. The connection of the vehicle road to the ring road and the second connection in the descending area indicates that it is used extensively. It has been found that the users of the vehicle use the road in the same way.

D-100 Highway Side Roads Investigation

Although the D-100 highway is a transit vehicle, it is expanding due to the large number of side roads. Within the boundaries of the investigated area, there were 9 side roads on Bahçelievler side and 8 side roads on Bakırköy side. When we examined the maps of Bahçelievler in 1970, it was observed that these side roads exist but the D-100 highway is not dense and defines this transit road as a street. However, these side roads lead to intensive use of taffic and noise and noise pollution. Intensive traffic noise has been generated as a result of decibel measurement in educational and hospital buildings around the side roads. It is aimed to reduce these roads in accordance with the law. It is observed that the buildings to be built on the side roads should be at least 25 meters behind and this law is not followed. In addition, the density of side roads directly connected to the streets and neighborhoods change the definition of side streets.

DECISIONS

D-100 Highway Pedestrianization D-100 highway down to +33. At +43 urban park design and connection roads are shown.

New Vehicle Ways Filling the underpass at Şenyuva Street and Begonyalı Street and the vehicle path was fed to the topography. New vehicle path connectionit was thought to serve the school functions.

Topography The elevations +38 and +43 are shown. D-100 +38 elevation walls due to highway construction topography.

City Park

The pedestrian circulation of the underpass on the Begonyalı Street prevents the passage of school functions and the presence of school functions on the side of the transit road. The design process aims to connect the park, educational buildings with pedestrian paths and green spaces.

Vertical connections The continuity of the roads between Bakırköy and Bahçelievler was ensured. The roads shown in the green track are pedestrian roads. Traces shown in black shows the vehicle paths.

Street Texture New street connections created at +38 elevation of the city park trade structures.

Green Texture

With new street connections at the +38 level of the city park it is foreseen that the green areas will merge with the green fabric in the residential fabric.

Green Texture The border effect of the D-100 highway with the disappearance of existing street textures. These connections are supported by ramps and pedestrian access is supported.

Circulation

Connections used to access school buildings by subway.

City Park

New designed axles, +38 and +43 elevation, bicycle paths, walkways and seating units.

Zones

Ĺženyuva Street axis, the axis of education structures and transport zone, specifying hospital axes.

Transformation of Ĺženyuva Street

Removal of the underpass in this street where pedestrian transportation problems are documented, Supporting pedestrian roads with ramps redefines the identity of the street.

The 26.000 m2 area on the upper level of the D-100 Highway has been pedestrianized. This area was re-functionalized and new metro and metrobus stops, urban gardens, parks, pedestrian paths and bicycle paths were designed. New axles have been designed between Bakırköy and Bahçelievler in connection with these functions. These pedestrian axles are the continuation of Yeniyol Street, Baharözü Street and Şenyuva Street. The hard ground continues at the intersection points. The slope in the topography was reduced by ramps and stairs. The underground D-100 highway continues in 6 lanes and the metrobus continues in 2 lanes. The road was tunneled and filled with soil. In this way, tree planting will be done. Pedestrian roads have been rearranged in Şenyuva Street and Begonyalı Street. Pedestrian circulation with stairs and ramps will provide access to the hospital, school and home. Thanks to the soil filling made in the Begonian street, - + 38 street elevation +43 elevation was leveled. Instead of the underpass view on Şenyuva Street, stairs and green areas and both passage and gathering areas were designed. As can be seen in the cross-section, the connection between Begonyalı Street and Şenyuva Street has facilitated the circulation of pedestrians and connected the functions of the streets.

The smooth transitions and forms in the circulation areas create warmth and coziness in publicly used places. In a plan scheme that is dominantly linear, the circulation is located on the side that has maximum transparency and it leaves the clinic areas on the more isolated side. This contrast is seen on the material choices. The design concept of the space uses constrains such as existing pillars as a guide and joins them with a single curve. The intersection of this curve and the existing plan generates surprising and functional design elements in the project. The composition of public spaces that starts with the reception diffuses to the circulation area by creating specialized usages such as kitchenette and lounge areas.

The name of the project, Duo-Suites is derived from the two masses of separate buildings joined with a single highly transparent circulation system. The building is situated on southwest – northeast axis considering the maximum and optimum benefits of wind and sun light on the site. The two blocks are slightly shifted from each other while being located on the site and these separate two masses create the delicate, high rise effect of the building. The project is designed considering the interior and the exterior spatial usages of the local area. The exterior landscape is designed as if it was an interior courtyard, the necessities and daily life of inhabitants are considered while shaping the landscape. The residence complex includes activities such as sport areas, barbecue spaces, swimming pool, hobby gardens, children’s park, sunbathing and lounge areas; by creating public usage activities and exclusive facilities.
