The series' Kimberly (Chalamet) and Nico (Leatherwood) have excellent chemistry, but their relationship was ended when she found out he had a secret girlfriend (who was studying abroad). According to Noble, who spoke to TVLine, "I think Nico does have real feelings for Kimberly, and I think he kind of had them all along."

"I don't believe that we should leave that situation thinking, 'Oh, maybe he's a wonderful guy. In terms of a potential love interest for her, he was a horrible person. But it does demonstrate his concern for her, and although he may have flaws as a person, he has always had genuine affections for her.

Kimberly loses her scholarship but Essex does not expel her. Noble asserts that Nico and his fraternity mates will "very likely" suffer the consequences of Kimberly's conduct.

2023 NISSAN Z

It's the ideal time for Nissan to rebuild its dated Z coupe because sports cars are currently in style, as evidenced by the resurrected Toyota Supra and the flashy mid-engine Corvette that both made their debuts last year. Perfect also since it's obvious that it's out of date. Nissan's sports car has always gone by an alphanumeric moniker, such the current 370Z model or the original 240Z from 1969, but this generation will just be known as Z. The 2023 Z is propelled by a 400-hp twinturbocharged V-6 engine that sends its power to the rear wheels via either a ninespeed automated or a six-speed manual transmission. We were thrilled to discover that the Z is overall more refined than the vehicle it replaces. We are happy with the Z's lively handling and snappy acceleration. Fortunately, the Z also gets a technological upgrade withnew driver-assistance technologies, a digital gauge display that can be customized, and a new touchscreen infotainment system.

Nulla nunc lectus porttitor vitae pulvinar magna. Sed et lacus quis enim mattis nonummy sodales.

r The next-generation 370Z moves slightly up-market to target the Supra, while the previous version competed with more costeffective sports cars like the Mazda MX-5 Miata and the Toyota 86. The new Z is still a great deal when compared to important competitors like the Supra and the Audi TT, even though its starting price is greater than that of the outgoing 370Z. The Z ups the ante with more luxurious amenities and more appealing appearance to warrant its higher price tag. To get a sportier suspension tuning, a limited-slip differential, better brakes, 19-inch wheels with summer tires, and power-adjustable seats with fauxsuede upholstery, we'd recommend the midrange Z Performance specification.

The Nissan Z is powered by a twinturbocharged V-6, just like its powerful sibling, the Nissan GTR. However, the Z receives a 400-hp 3.0-liter engine from the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport 400 linked to either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission in place of the GTfire-breathing R's 565-hp 3.8-liter. either a nine-speed automatic or a six-speed manual. Nissan continues to only offer rear-wheel drive for the Z, despite the Infiniti offering all-wheel drive as an option. Although the Z has a lot of zip thanks to the turbo six, our manual transmission test car reached 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, far behind the Supra. As long as you are not driving too close to the Z's limit, there is enough of cornering grip. But when you really push it, the suspension's calibration shows that it's not quite up to the job. Although its compliance

Nulla nunc lectus porttitor vitae pulvinar magna. Sed et lacus quis enim mattis nonummy sodales.

makes commuting comfortable, competitor sports vehicles provide quicker reflexes.

The Z with the automatic transmission is considered to be the most energyefficient model, per the EPA. It has a 19 mpg city rating and a 28 mpg highway rating. sticking to Nissan hasn't altered the Z's interior layout despite the fact that it will be new in 2023. With no remaining back seats like the Porsche 911, it is still only a two-seat coupe. But everything else is different now. The interior of the new Z has been upgraded with contemporary materials, which is a considerable improvement over the wornout 370Z's interior. There are options for leather upholstery, power-adjustable seats, and dual-zone automatic climate control. The Z's cargo capacity is unknown, although we don't anticipate it to be large. We managed to put three carry-on luggage in the original 370Z's trunk, which should be sufficient for the majority of sports car customers.

device with navigation is available), a 12.3inch digital gauge display, SiriusXM satellite radio, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, Nissan has modernized the Z. Standard equipment includes a sixspeaker stereo, but audiophiles can elect to upgrade to a premium audio system designed by Bose; an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot is also an option.

TECH TIP

Over the previous five years, the tech sector had what seemed like unstoppable growth, but in 2022 it finally ran into an immovable object: a slowing global economy.

This year, thousands of positions have been slashed at tech companies of all sizes as CEOs blamed poor financial outlooks on factors including inflation, rising interest rates, and declining sales of digital advertising.

The scope of the layoffs has been astounding; they have affected every aspect of the digital industry, from social media and cryptocurrency to farming robots and semi-autonomous vehicles.

During current economic downturn, the IT sector has been struck more severely than other industries. NBC News calculated that approximately 89,000 employees have lost their jobs this year as a result of layoffs at organizations that have made more than 100 cuts.

KENNEDY LUCAS MONEY COLUMN

Thomas This is your November 23rd technology news briefing. I work at the Wall Street Journal as Zoe Thomas. Many of us are beginning to consider what holiday presents to buy for our loved ones at this time of year. We are here to help you with a list of the greatest tech gifts to give in 2022, all of which have been tried and true by the WSJ's personal tech team, with Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and days and days of holiday shopping still ahead of us. They will join us to discuss this year's humorous yet useful advice on the show today. After these headlines, that is. Yesterday, the US bankruptcy trial for FTX began. The cryptocurrency exchange's attorneys informed the court that "a significant quantity of There are missing and maybe stolen assets. Counsel

Nulla nunc lectus porttitor vitae pulvinar magna. Sed et lacus quis enim mattis nonummy sodales.

representing FTX's new management said that Sam Bankman-Fried, the company's founder and former CEO, treated it like his own fiefdom. Whether clients and creditors receive their money back will be a key element in the case. Customers of cryptocurrency exchanges lack protections like deposit insurance, which takes effect in the event that banks and brokerages fail. Additionally, FTX has claimed that it may have over a million creditors. Finding the money is one of the first important questions. Although FTX's headquarters are in The Bahamas, a domestic subsidiary retained the funds belonging to US clients. Alexander Saeedy, a pro-bankruptcy reporter for the WSJ, has more.

Alexander Saeedy: Will that money be kept somewhere under the supervision of a Bahamas-based business or an American one? The process here for customers to try to locate their funds may be in a Bahamas-based liquidation, which has an entirely different body of law governing how people would get their money back. If more and more money is going to be discovered in The Bahamas, this means that the process that is really relevant for customers to try to locate their funds may be in the Bahamas. We know that the US entities have discovered over a billion dollars in cash, most of which belongs to the US entities but some of which is in the possession of the Bahamian subsidiary, which is currently being liquidated in The Bahamas and is not a part of the US bankruptcy, based on what we have seen so far, and we only really have transparency on the US side.

Zoe Thomas: Sequoia Capital, a venture capital firm, has apologized to its fund investors for its $150 million loss in FTX, as we exclusively report.

According to sources, the company has promised to enhance its due diligence procedure for future transactions. For Sequoia, it's an uncommon position. Given that it invested early in businesses like Apple, Google, and Airbnb, it is one among Silicon Valley's most successful venture capital firms. The UK's competition watchdog is expanding its inquiry into Apple and Google because it believes that they essentially control the mobile ecosystems. The Competition and Markets Authority will examine into complaints that Apple restricts cloud gaming on its devices as well as how the businesses manage mobile web browsers. Some significant tech competitors, like Microsoft and Meta, have

endorsed the probe and said so. According to an Apple representative, the business will keep in contact with the regulator to outline how its strategy fosters "competition and choice" while protecting the privacy and security of its customers. Many of the criticisms leveled against Apple's mobile operating system, according to a Google representative, don't apply to the Android platform. As the substantial decline in demand for personal computers is anticipated to continue into next year, HP also aims to reduce its staff by about 10%. The business, which employs over 61,000 people, announced on Tuesday that it would let between 4,000 and 6,000 staff go. HP also recorded a minor net loss for the quarter, primarily due to lower quarterly revenue of more than 11%, at $14.8 billion. from a settlement in court. On Monday, HP's competitor Dell similarly predicted flat PC demand for the upcoming year, extending a period of sluggish sales following a pandemic boom. For the third quarter, Dell reported a 6% decline in overall revenue. Sales of desktop and laptop computers fell by 17% as a result. The business predicted that such figures would decline even more quickly the next quarter. I'm good. Given the current state of the economy, many people are preparing to reduce their gift-giving this year. However, if you still feel the want to give, we've got a list of tech presents that you may utilize while staying in the Christmas spirit. That will be discussed after the break. Annually, the The personal tech team at Journal reviews a variety of devices and equipment and compiles a list of their top recommendations for holiday presents. However, this year, with costs for everything rising and layoffs being reported often, particularly in the IT industry, the team concentrated on things that are certain to be worthwhile investments. Nothing that will end up in a dusty

personal tech reporter Dalvin Brown, and personal tech reporting assistant Cordilia James are here with us to discuss their list. We appreciate you everyone joining us on the show.

Jennifer Nguyen: Hello.

Mr. Dalvin Brown Hey. I appreciate you having us back.

James Cordilia: I'm glad By Zoe Thomas Okay, let's get started with this list. I observed that there were a sizable number of presents that had to do with fitness. Can you tell us about one of them, Cordilia?

Charles James: The DribbleUp Smart Boxing Gloves were one of the presents I suggested. Therefore, it's merely a great way to mix up your at-home fitness routine. I'm a fan of boxing, so to speak. This was a simple setup, really just a good way to log your reps, and there are simply so many various sessions that you can follow both on demand and live. I don't know a lot about just the best way to box, so this was helpful. Additionally, if you decide not to pay the $17 monthly fee,You still have a great set of gloves to utilize at the end of the day and a few practice sessions left under the membership.

By Zoe Thomas Okay. In that same spirit, it appears that there are a lot of wearables on this list. Nicole, what do you stick on and why?

Jennifer Nguyen: The Garmin Epix is one of the wearables I selected for this list. Like most Garmin watches, it is very hefty, although it features a touchscreen. So, it's the wearable that, in my opinion, is closest to a smartwatch. They often use a five-button interface that necessitates

Nulla nunc lectus porttitor vitae pulvinar magna. Sed et lacus quis enim mattis nonummy sodales.

smartwatch. They often use a five-button interface that necessitates choreography akin to Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) only to carry out basic operations. But the touchscreen truly makes it simple. This would be a fantastic gift to get on Christmas Day, especially for those who enjoy the outdoors or long-distance runners. Additionally, I went with the Fitbit Sense 2 Wearable. Fitbit hasn't truly introduced a smartwatch in a while. However, the Sense 2 is extremely intriguing since it has a stress sensor that can identify outward signs of stress. So, when you're stressed, you need your wrist to buzz to let you know that you're stressed. It will then prompt you to take a time to relax, practice some breathing techniques, or do a little meditation.

By Zoe Thomas I believe that all of us may benefit from a gentle reminder full breath Given that we have been spending so much more time at home over the past few years, there has been an increase in the number of home-related gifts that have been discussed. Do you have any recommendations for this year's home gifts, Dalvin?

Nulla nunc lectus porttitor vitae pulvinar magna. Sed et lacus quis enim mattis nonummy sodales.

Mr. Dalvin Brown Yeah. The Echo Dot with Clock was one of the fantastic home presents I suggested this year. It is an Alexa-enabled smart speaker, so that's nothing new, but what makes it so intriguing is that you can use it to expand your wifi network. Additionally beneficial, it contains a little digital screen that displays the current temperature or song titles. As a result, you won't need to call out for Alexa as frequently because the small screen will reveal you with it.

By Zoe Thomas Nicole, this year's list was more focused on functionality. What nice useful gift are you stuck on, then?

Charles James: I would advise using the Valve Steam Deck. For those who enjoy playing PC games, there is this portable gaming system. The graphics are simply incredible. It has a somewhat larger size than, say, a Nintendo Switch. I would advise obtaining one of the devices with a lot more space if someone in your family is a serious player. You may purchase one with 64, 256, or 512 GB. One more thing you should be aware of is that the games that consume the most storage space and are probably the most detailed also drain the battery. That 512 one costs just over 600, or approximately $650. As a result, you might also want to carry a backup battery pack.

By Zoe Thomas I believe we should always consider the batteries while giving tech presents. Everyone should remember this lesson when they hand out technology. The WSJ tech gift guide for this year is being presented by our personal tech team. We are extremely grateful that Cordilia James, Nicole Nguyen, and Dalvin Brown could join us.

Charles James: I'm grateful.

Zoe Thomas: Many thanks.

Jennifer Nguyen: I appreciate you having us.

By Zoe Thomas The briefing on today's IT news is now complete. We'll be taking tomorrow off for Thanksgiving, but we'll be back on Friday with more tech news for you. Additionally, you may find additional tech news on our website, wsj.com, in the interim. Always remember to rate and review our show if you enjoy it wherever you get your podcasts.
