Dr Lizzy Pérez graduated with her Bachelor's in Exercise and Sports Science with a minor in Health & Wellness Promotion from Texas State University. She received her Masters in Secondary Education from Texas A&M University-Commerce. She recently graduated with her Ph.D. from Our Lady of the Lake University in Leadership Studies with a focus on perfectionism in May 2023.
Dr. Pérez mixes her love for divergent thinking with her passion for co-creating with others. She is a purpose-driven, experienced educator/school leader who grew up in a small, rural community and was a school leader in large, comprehensive urban high schools. Lizzy evokes awareness and stimulates worthwhile change in leaders and their followers She also serves as a champion for diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in addition to growing the emotional literacy of leaders of all industries Lizzy has been consulting throughout the country for the past 12 years, providing deep introspection and integrated leadership development
Some of Lizzy’s noteworthy certifications consist of Certified Professional Coach, True Colors Facilitator, Certified Dare to Lead™ Facilitator (based on the research of & trained by Dr. Brené Brown), Trauma-Informed Care Practitioner, Adverse Childhood Education (ACE) Master Trainer, SXSW EDU advisory board member, a 2021 graduate of Leadership SAISD, on the advisory council of San Antonio Leaders & Teachers and The Order of Saint Hildegard, and on the Youth Initiative Committee for Women League of Voters SA Area.

In this session, students will learn how to apply the SMARTER Goal strategy to their personal and professional goals Participants will demonstrate their understanding of how to effectively set goals and a plan to achieve them by participating in small group discussions, then creating their own SMARTER goal for one of their future goals
