Many thanks to the student interns who assisted our workers in providing high quality service for our residents. Special thanks to the coordinator and the supervisor of the WIE programme, whose effort made the placement go smoothly.

HKCC students’ overall performance was good. They provided quality customer services to passengers. All the supervisors were impressed by their punctuality and willingness to learn. Also, the coordinator was an excellent teacher who offered lots of help in coordinating the programme. It was a great opportunity for HKCC and the MTR.
Last summer, I got a valuable internship opportunity from the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency. I was mainly responsible for data checking, validation and entry. Through this job, I became proficient in using various office software. I believe this experience will be useful in any working environment in the future. Moreover, I had the opportunity to communicate with customers during my internship. Sometimes, I might not be able to handle all their enquiries. My problem-solving skills were improved through handling different kinds of situations.

Many thanks to the support of my supervisor and Ho Hong Neighbourhood Centre for Senior Citizens where I underwent my social work placement for half a year. During my internship, I could try to deliver different types of services to the elderly as a social work student, such as group work, casework, and outdoor programmes. Such experience broadened my horizons in the social work profession. I also learnt a lot from my supervisor Dr Leung, who encouraged me to apply different intervention approaches in my practices. Apart from acquiring professional knowledge and skills, I also experienced wonderful company and support from my fieldwork supervisor and field mates.

I completed my three-month internship at China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited. I worked at the construction site most of the time to check the progress of different projects and fill out memorandums to record different tasks.
As I lacked practical experience in the workplace in the beginning, I faced quite a lot of problems when I started my internship. For example, the way of reviewing the construction plans was quite different from what I learnt from textbooks. Luckily, my colleagues were willing to guide me through the tasks.
This internship experience has not just enriched my understanding of construction works. More importantly, it has broadened my connections. I was pleased to get a job offer from my former supervisor at the end of the internship to further develop my career at the same company.

I was very honoured to have participated in an internship at Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong. I got the chance to work in the food and beverage department and the sales department, where I learnt more about the daily operations of different hotel departments. Also, I could interact with guests from different countries and understand more about other cultures.

College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPCE) was founded in 2002 as a self-financed college of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). CPCE oversees the day-to-day operation and development of its two educational units, namely Hong Kong Community College (HKCC) and School of Professional Education and Executive Development (SPEED). CPCE aims at fostering synergy between the two units in the provision of quality education.
CPCE’s vision is to be a leading self-financing tertiary education institution in Hong Kong. With a mission to offer high quality tertiary education to learners at different stages of their studies/career, CPCE offers education pathways with multiple entries and exits. CPCE is also dedicated to promoting scholarly activities which underpin teaching and learning excellence. In addition, CPCE is committed to serving our society through collaboration and partnership with professional bodies, business and community groups. All members of the CPCE community are supported and offered the opportunity to develop and excel.
An important strategic direction of CPCE is the provision of the “2+2” articulation pathway leading to PolyU accredited honours degrees. Students completing HKCC’s 2-year Associate Degree (AD) or Higher Diploma (HD) programmes may articulate to SPEED’s 2-year articulation honours degree programmes leading to PolyU-SPEED awards.
At HKCC, quality sub-degree programmes are offered to meet the changing needs of society and prepare graduates for pursuing further studies or career development. HKCC also provides all-round development opportunities to nurture creativity, active learning, critical thinking, self-confidence, a positive attitude, effective communication and a sense of responsibility.
At SPEED, quality articulation honours degree programmes are provided for fostering the career and professional development of aspiring individuals. Besides, quality continuing education opportunities are offered to facilitate the professional development of experienced learners. The School is devoted to fostering quality education through scholarly contributions and professional engagement.
