It all began with light. The foundations of the company were laid in 1883, when Emil Rathenau acquired the licence for Edison’s lamp in Germany. The company was soon making motors and generators, and inventing new ways to use this magical new power. The electric hair dryer in 1900, for example.

1908 → 1949 We’ve never been frightened of leading the way. The Vampyr vacuum cleaner was a futuristic vision when it was first launched in the 1920's. Other AEG innovations we’d now take for granted include the temperaturecontrolled electric iron, and the compressor-driven fridge. Can you imagine life without them? AEG were the first to recognise the power of design itself, and employ an industrial designer, the luminary Peter Behrens. He believed that a technical challenge was not met until the solution had satisfied ‘man’s aesthetic sense’. Trained as an architect, Behrens brought a visionary design philosophy to
AEG, believing that ‘Design is not about decorating functional forms – it is about creating forms that accord with the character of the object, and that show new technologies to advantage.’ Over the years since, that principle has led us to a steady stream of remarkable achievements.

This means one of the largest drum openings in the market, making loading and unloading very convenient – and giving you full control. The door opens 160°, more than enough to ensure the door glass is out of the way as you load. Its double walled inlet hose and overflow prevention system stops water from leaking. Prompt delivery & connection AEG home delivery service includes disconnection and reconnection of your washing machine to existing fittings. AEG will remove and dispose of your existing washing machine and new product packaging if the delivery driver is notified prior to delivery. AEG washing machine delivery and disconnect / reconnect service does not include any alterations or modifications to cabinetry, electrical or plumbing services including but not limited to, tap fittings and tap readjustments. Failure to meet the above criteria may incur an additional call back fee or become a delivery only service.
