Hi! My name is Kirsten Rud, and this is my Minifolio For Storytelling and Design! In this Minifolio I have developed three pieces from three previous story drafts in this class and connected a song alongside it that I feel represents a part of the piece. Each piece was generated from an image either I took or the subject took and illustrated on top of. Overall, I hope you enjoy looking through my small portfolio! Thank you!
“Get
Lost”
During this story draft, I had to allow myself to get lost, which I don’t often do. I explored a forest path and just allowed myself to walk without the stress of “going the right way”. For my linked song for this piece I chose Statues in the Garden (Arras) by Local Natives, because I listened to that song when I started walking and it really allowed me to loosen up and just enjoy being lost.
“Day in the Life”
During this story draft, I documented a Day in the Life of a college student (me). I created a piece of the beginning of my day and paid attention to documenting what a normal day in my life looks like. This draft let me see the little things that I usually don’t notice while going through the motions everyday. The song I link to this draft is Earlybird by Eagles, because it is the first song I listened to on this day, and prepared me for the day to come.
“Stranger Fiction”
During this story draft, I documented a stranger’s answers to questions I asked, and created art from it. I asked them their favorite thing to do with friends, and they told me they loved sledding in the winter with their friends and family. The song I link to this piece is the song that the stranger recommended to me! It is New Mistake by Jellyfish.
