SUMMERFEST Music + Arts Festival | August 10 – 12
The Young Artists Exhibition is a three-day art show for all creative youth up to age 18 during the 7th annual Kirkland Summerfest Music + Art Festival. This year, the Young Artist Exhibition will be at the historic Heritage Hall in downtown Kirkland.
2018 THEME
“MY ROBOT FAMILY” What would your family look like if they were all ROBOTS? Would they each have a special power? Would they be different sizes and shapes? Create your robot family as a drawing, painting, sculpture, 3D or with any materials you wish!

This year’s theme is inspired by Pareidolia People, a “family” of six steel sculptures designed by Renton engineer and artist Ed McCarthy. Pareidolia (pronounced pair – eh – dohl – ee – ah) People will be unveiled at Summerfest on Friday August 10th at Park Lane in Kirkland, where they will live for a year.

Prizes: All entered artwork will be shown at the exhibition and will receive a ribbon. One young artist from each age group will be entered to win a youth workshop or class at KAC, up to a $250 value, and their artwork will be shown in the KAC gallery in 2019. Artwork will be judged by KAC teaching artists on the interpretation of the theme, originality, creativity, and innovative use of materials. Submissions: Up to two entries will be accepted per artist. Paintings, drawings, prints, and photographs must be matted or mounted on foam board or other rigid backing for ease of display.
