Getting Involved
We aim to create a happy learning community that is inclusive and supports every child to be successful. As a team we want to encourage children to become creative, resilient and aspirational lifelong learners.
To be successful in our aims we believe that it is essential to have a strong partnership between home and school. As a community we will be working together to ensure our school is built on respect and kindness. We look forward to working with you.
We are often asked the question, "Is my little one ready for school?"
Your child will have developed lots of skills needed to be ready for P1 whilst in nursery. If you have any worries or concerns please speak to us so that we can arrange any additional support needed to ensure your child has a smooth transition into Primary 1.
TTo help our nursery children manage the move into a bigger class with older children, we have arranged for them to spend time in our current P1-7 class. During this time, they got to see the routines and expectations that they will be entering into in August. The children are already used to being together at breaktimes, in the lunch hall and during our whole school achievement assemblies.
In Primary 1, the children will have a mixture of learning through play and more structured learning sessions that will require them to focus on one task for a longer amount of time.
~ School starts at 9am.
~ Morning sessions will normally include numeracy and literacy.
~ Morning break is at 10.30am.
~ Lunch time is at 12.15pm.
