Hi, my name is Liza, and I’m from Moscow, Russia.
I joined King William’s College and the boarding community in September 2022, and I am now the Head of Girls’ Boarding. After nearly three years at the College, boarding has played a big role in my personal growth and helped shape me into the person I am today. It has also given me meaningful, lifelong friendships with people from both the boarding house and the wider School community.
My favourite part about living in boarding is the international community and the supportive environment around you. Since I first joined the school, many things have changed, but boarding has always been my safe place –somewhere I am proud to now call
Hi, my name is Charles and I’m from Belgium. I’ve been at King William’s College since January 2021, and I’m now Head of Boys’ Boarding.
Boarding is such a big part of my life because I have met so many great people. Living with your friends is amazing. We have so much fun and we become very close. There are so many opportunities both at school and on the Island to try new things and find out what you enjoy.
One thing I really like about boarding is the strong friendships we make. We are like a family and we support each other. We also get to meet people from many different countries, so we
home. The friendships we build here are incredibly strong, and we truly become like a family. The amazing teachers and tutors are always there to listen and support you, whether you need academic help or emotional guidance.
During my time here, I hope to help other boarders find their own path for growth and self-discovery. The best lesson I’ve learned from boarding is not only to understand my strengths and weaknesses, but also to work on them and believe in my ability to achieve my goals.
We are lucky to have many great facilities such as a swimming pool, gym, art and music schools, which are open to everyone. This means you can always try something new – hopefully something that brings more joy into your life!

learn about different cultures, which is very exciting.
In my free time, I like to push myself to the best of my ability. As a theatre lover I really wanted to participate in shows, this school gave me the opportunity to join school plays and events. Later on I managed to make a dream come true by acting on the big stage at the Gaiety Theatre by joining an Island theatre company. I also really enjoy doing house activities, as there is always something going on in boarding.
I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone!
