WELCOME TO KINGSWOOD COLLEGE

Founded in 1890, Kingswood College celebrates 135 years of education in 2025. As an independent Kindergarten to Year 12 co-educational school of the Uniting Church, we provide a nurturing environment that supports students from Early Learning through to Senior School.

Our comprehensive academic and co-curricular program aims to stimulate and develop a love of learning in every student. Spread across 20 acres in Melbourne’s east, our campus boasts a blend of heritage-listed buildings and leadingedge facilities, providing students with inspirational spaces that encourage and facilitate their learning. From a purpose-built Science Centre to our beautiful Imaginarium Early Learning Centre, our state-of-the-art classrooms across the College complement our extensive sporting grounds, including a soccer pitch, two ovals, gymnasium and multi-purpose sports court. Kingswood College offers fit-forpurpose facilities and quality resources for students and staff alike.

OUR PRINCIPAL

Principal Chrissy Gamble, inducted in 2023, leads with a vision to provide genuine care, know each young person individually, and value partnership with families. Under Chrissy’s leadership, Kingswood College embodies a spirit of respect, kindness, perseverance, courage, and excellence, fostering an environment where students are challenged and supported every day.

Chrissy is ambitious about academic outcomes and the character development of each young person and believes that a great strength of the school is our teachers who make sure that every student is challenged and known.

LEARNING AS WE LIVE

As a school, we are constantly seeking ways to provide the best possible learning environment for our students. We passionately believe that coeducation is the best learning environment for all young people, to live and grow together. RECRUITMENT PROCESS

In applying for a role at Kingswood College, your application should include:

1. A comprehensive resume giving details of relevant achievements in recent roles as well as your education and professional qualifications.

2. A covering letter that summarises your interest in the role and providing evidence of your ability to match the selection criteria outlined.

3. Names and contact details of two (2) recent professional referees. Our preference is for referees you have had a recent reporting relationship with. (Please note we will not contact your referees without your permission and not before an interview has been offered).

SELECTION PROCESS

Short-listed candidates are contacted to arrange a time to meet with the selection panel for an initial interview.

Candidates short-listed from the first interview maybe required to come back for a second interview and/or further recruitment activities.

As part of the interview process for teaching staff, short-listed candidates may be asked to demonstrate their teaching by the applicant being requested to develop and present some teaching materials.

REFERENCE CHECKS

A minimum of two reference checks are undertaken. The selection panel will discuss your application with your nominated referees.

PRE EMPLOYMENT COMPLIANCE CHECKS

The preferred candidate will be subject to employment screening and maybe asked to undertake a psychometric assessment and a medical examination for this purpose. The preferred candidate must satisfy relevant child protection legislation and:

1. For teaching roles, be a registered teacher with Victorian Institute of Teachers;

2. For professional support roles, hold a current Working with Children Check

International candidates will provide the panel with relevant visa documentation supporting their right to live and work in Australia. This information will be verified with the Department of Immigration. The College reserves its right to undertake additional preemployment checks to support the commitment to recruiting the highest quality employees and considering the specific needs of each role.
