What’s in the Pipeline? Header Option 1

At the end of each season we have to bid a fond farewell to those leaving us, many of whom have represented KGS for seven years. This year we lose an exceptionally talented group, including Holly Munro, our girls’ 1st XI Captain and England U18 International. The Hockey Society thanks them all for their dedication and commitment to KGS hockey. Good luck to: Fergus Ainsworth

Isn’t it amazing what can be achieved by selling bacon butties on a Saturday morning, organising a Hockey Rules evening and the school hockey and football team photos and marshalling car parking during the Hampton Court Flower Show? Please do support us to raise money for KGS in this way.

Now that we have our new shelters, what other creature comforts can we provide for spectators at Ditton Field? We are pleased to tell you that from the 2016/17 season there will be no need to enquire about the score or how much longer there is to play. Our new electronic scoreboard will look something like the one above.

Linford Christie, as I wanted to run in a 100m Olympic final just like him. I remember being glued to a TV screen, outside a TV/ electrical shop on holiday in a small town just south of Barcelona during the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. I thought ‘I want to do that’. It was great knowing that only a few miles away he was competing. What sports do you play these days? I still play hockey for Surbiton HC (Ladies 1s) who are currently top of the England Hockey Premier League (we did the double last year for the league and the cup). I also run, go to the gym, swim and occasionally play tennis. What is your favourite sporting memory? Making the final four in the European Club Championship when I played for Slough HC was amazing. We were such a great team, played against some fantastic players such Naomi van As and we had lots of laughs along the way. We were nick-named GB/England ‘vets’ on tour (we had a number of more mature players).
