‘JOURNEY’ (YEAR 3

Year 3 pupils took inspiration from Aaron Becker’s book ‘Journey’ for their writing and artwork. The beautifully illustrated wordless book is about a lonely girl who draws a magic door on her bedroom wall and escapes through it into a world of wonder, adventure and danger. After learning about some of the key elements of character descriptions, the pupils wrote descriptions of the girl. They also learned about scene setting and produced some wonderful pieces of creative writing to describe one of the most magical scenes in the book - the beautiful forest the girl steps into when she first leaves her bedroom through the red door.
