CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER’S REPORT

As we go to press the Club renovations are coming to a finish. This has been difficult renovation due to the many areas that had work undertaken and we apologise for any inconvenience caused during this period. The comments by all patrons have been great and we are sure you will all like the new refreshed look of your Club.

Once again ANZAC Day was a huge success with hundreds of members and patrons attending the march and service followed by a breakfast back in the Club. This is a significantly important day on our calendar and I sincerely thank all who attended.

The March, Service and Breakfast was followed by a full day of activities in the Club including our very popular Two Up event in the marquee.

My thanks to the Sub Branch and the Ladies of the Auxiliary for their organisation of the day and assistance in serving the breakfast. This combined with the tireless efforts of our staff ensured the day was a huge success.

In March the Club Annual General Meeting was held and I thank those members who attended. Our congratulations conveyed to Heather Shepherd who was bestowed Life Membership at the AGM for her contributions to the Club through her ongoing tenure as a Club Director over the past 14 years, a well-deserved recognition for her years of service.

It is with sadness that we farewell one of our own from our management ranks as our compliance/gaming manager Nuno Henriques heads off for more challenges in life after 11 years here at Kingsgrove. Needless to say, he will be missed and we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavours.

We do however take the opportunity to welcome our new gaming manager, Nathan Hawton, who does come to the

A Casual Vacancy has arisen on the Board of Directors of Kingsgrove RSL Club Ltd.

The Board of Directors are seeking the applications for a casual vacancy of Director.

If you feel you have the acumen, drive and passion to be a director of Kingsgrove RSL Club then you should apply.

Any member seeking to apply should provide a letter to the Chief Executive Officer along with any other documentation that will assist in the determination of your application.

Please note that any member applying must comply with Rule 22.6 of The Kingsgrove RSL Club Constitution: position with over 20 years’ experience in the hospitality and gaming industry.

We are all feeling the effects of the rising interest rates and increasing cost of living so please keep an eye out for the special events occurring at your Club in the coming months and be sure to take advantage of the specials at Fireside Brasserie and Poloy Restaurant.

Our ever-popular Ham Raffle on Friday 21ST July 2023 with 75 half hams to be won with tickets on sale from $1 each.

Entertainment is back at Kingsgrove RSL Club with the following events and shows booked:

Australian Trilogy Show

Christmas In July on Saturday 22nd July is only $50 per person for dinner, 2 drinks and the Australian Trilogy Show which is a tribute to Midnight Oil, Hoodoo Gurus and Crowded house. Seating will be limited and tickets are on sale now.

Pinot & Picasso

A first for Kingsgrove RSL is our new Pinot & Picasso guided paint class on Saturday 19th August at 7.30pm. You can come alone or bring a group as this is looking to be popular event. $70 will get you a 4-hour class and 2 glasses of champagne or house wine. Why not make a night of it and book for dinner in either Fireside or Poloy as well.

Father’s Day is always a very special day here at the Club and we will again be holding our breakfast with a $10 voucher to all fathers and a complimentary middy of beer, then lunch and dinner specials at both Fireside Brasserie and Poloy Restaurant.

Optus Sports is Free at Kingsgrove RSL and all the Games of the Women’s World Cup will be shown Live. Come on down to the Club and support the Aussies!

With all that is coming up in the next few months, there is sure to be something for everyone so I look forward to seeing you all in the Club soon.

RIGHT HOLD OFFICE:

In Accordance with Rule 22.6 of the Club Constitution Full Members who having been a member for a minimum continuous period of 3 years are entitled to hold office as the President, Senior Vice President, Vice President and Director of the Club.

Applications will close on Friday 28th July at 5pm

The successful candidate will hold office until the next election in 2024
