BOARD OF DIRECTORS PRESIDENTS REPORT
Here we are already halfway through the year, firstly my apologies to our members and their guests for any inconvenience that has been caused due to the extensive renovations that we have been undertaking around the Club, hopefully by the time you receive this copy of the Burst they should all be just about finished and you will see how good the Club looks and the improvements that have been undertaken have been very worthwhile.
The reception area is now a highlight of the Club entrance along with the revamped memorabilia cabinets and the new paved area around the Club memorial are a fitting tribute to all veterans past and present as part of the Club’s heritage as an RSL Club. The Sports lounge area has had a complete makeover with additional larger TV’s, two snooker tables will be situated back in the area and the snooker club will be recommencing their Friday night competition, if you are interested in joining the snooker club see club member Jeff Costa or reception.

ANZAC Day was a great success and with the fine weather, a larger than usual crowd attended, Club CEO Ian Todd, the Management Team and the staff did a terrific job the whole day which meant it went seamlessly, and everyone had an enjoyable day. The ladies of the Sub-Branch Auxiliary did a marvelous job by assisting serving the very welcome breakfast in the various areas of the Club, not forgetting the scouts and guides in the marquee, thanks ladies.
The Mother’s Day special breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings were once again extremely popular with many members and guests attending the breakfast, at both Fireside and Poloy, the Club will be having a similar promotion for Father’s Day in September, I would suggest you book early to ensure you get a table.
The July ham raffle and the very popular Christmas in July show are back, check this edition of the Burst or the Club’s website for full details of all the promotions that are happening at your Club.
It is with regret that I have to advise that Club Director Heather Shepherd has tendered her resignation from the Board due to health and personal reasons, Heather has been a Board Member for 14 years and the Clubs Sports Administrator for 6 years, Heather has made a tremendous contribution to the Board and the Club during this period and I would personally thank Heather for her service and wish her well for the future.

This will create a casual vacancy on the Board which we will be looking to fill, we will be asking for nominations, if you are interested in serving on the Board, if you are not sure what is involved see CEO Ian Todd, COO Debbie Harris or myself. Looking forward to seeing you at the Club sometime soon.
Alan R. Barnes OAM JP President
