3rd Form pupils choose a minimum of three activities per week.

We will send out potential dates in the new year and tailor each session to the exam questions. There will be a different theme using a wide range of media to build on a variety of skills.

Ten Tors

This is the training activity for the selected group of 4th Form pupils to develop their skills and work towards making the team and taking part in the Ten Tors 35-mile challenge in April 2024. Pupils must be doing CCF on Friday afternoons.

Jazz, Tap and Modern Dance

An introduction to Jazz, Tap, and Modern Dance. Open to all and no experience necessary. You will need comfortable clothing and jazz shoes, which can be arranged at the beginning of term, should you be interested. External teacher.

Junior Play - PRIORITY ACTIVITY

For 3rd and 4th Form only. Rehearsals for the final performance. No new pupils – cast and crew to continue attending as planned.

Textiles C lub

An opportunity to learn how to use a sewing machine and learn various Textile techniques such as gathering, free-hand embroidering and appliqué. Small mini outcomes will be produced for pupils to take away with them.

Knitting Isn’t Just for Grannies

Anybody is welcome to come along and learn knitting. It is a wonderful distraction from thinking! Any level of experience is welcome, but it is mainly for beginners, whilst having a natter.

Training for Singapore and Malaysia

Small Bore Rifle Shooting Club

Develop your marksmanship skills, shooting rifles on the school’s rifle range. This club is open to all cadets in the CCF. This term we will be shooting the schools air rifles, progressing on to use the 22 target rifles in time. No previous experience is necessary, all equipment will be provided. Clothing: tracksuit top and bottoms and bring your glasses if you wear them.

This is for keen pupils of English Literature in the 5th & 6th Form. We discuss a wide range of fantastic texts that go beyond the curriculum, enriching and broadening literary horizons. This activity will be run every other week.

A call to all future GCSE artists to get involved. This is a chance to build your skills and learn new techniques in readiness for the start of the course in September.

Pupils will be looking into different building techniques as well as glazes and slips with the intention of creating a dynamic collaborative sculpture.

Creative Translation Club

Put your language skills and creative flair into practice to gain a chance to win a national poetry translation competition (the Stephen Spender Prize)! Choose a poem, song or speech from any language and translate it into beautiful English. We will learn how to select a great text, translate it with skill, and edit it to perfection. Prizes available!

The Eco-Committee is a group of individuals that work towards environmental projects around the school. Building on being awarded the Eco-School Green Flag award in 2022, we have continued to develop a greener and more caring landscape at King’s. As well as rewilding areas of the school campus and campaigning to reduce the food waste produced in the Dining Room, the Eco-Committee are committed to making the school as green as possible.
