LEARN FROM THE MISTAKES OF OTHERS IS BETTER!
1 - A lack of balance in ministry vs family Although David was a great leader, described in Acts 13:22 as ‘a man after God’s own heart’, his leadership was severely impaired by a lack of balance in his life. “Now (Adonijah’s) father, King David, had never disciplined him at any time, even by asking , ‘What are you doing?’” (1 Kings 1:6, NLT)
How should David have acted? “He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him with proper respect.(If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God's church?)” (1 Timothy 3: 4 – 5, NIV) 2 - A lack of attention to detail Although Solomon was known as being a very wise man, his leadership was severely impaired because of his lack of attention to detail in terms of following God’s instructions.
