2013 KINGDOM ADVISORS WEST COAST REGIONAL CONFERENCE

MESSAGE FROM RON BLUE Dear Colleagues and Friends: Welcome to Saddleback Church and the Kingdom Advisors West Coast Regional Conference! This event represents our commitment to deliver the best of our content to you on a regional basis, and we believe it will be a rallying point for our membership on the West Coast. The theme of this day is “All In,” and we are excited to hear from the Lord about how He would have us go “All In” on behalf of His Kingdom through our workplace interactions each day. You may be here having never participated with Kingdom Advisors. If you are, welcome! We are so glad you are here, and we hope you catch a glimpse today of our vision to build a credible specialty of advisors who offer biblically wise client counsel within the financial services industry. We invite you to join with us and to become such a specialist, if the Lord is calling you to offer Him your workplace as a place of ministry in the lives of those you serve. You may be here as someone who has journeyed with Kingdom Advisors for a long time. Welcome! We are so glad to see you again, and we so appreciate your willingness to invest your time in this one-day conference. A West Coast event has been a long dream in the making, and we are thrilled that you’re here to experience it with us. We pray that God speaks into your life in a distinct way today as you listen to Him and ask, “What’s next?” No matter who you are, and no matter why you are here, we believe that this will be a day of equipping, encouragement, and exhortation. We believe that God has prepared the hearts of everyone in attendance so that He will work both individually and corporately in this place. It’s going to be a great day! Let’s participate fully by seeking to be “All In.” Blessings,

Ron Blue

He will share how Christ discipled His non-believing followers and draw practical applications for your client interaction.

Understanding the dynamics that affect generational communication allows you to facilitate both grace and wisdom inherent in biblical financial principles within families you advise.

December: Asking Questions that Get Results (Mitch Anthony) Mitch Anthony teaches that, since all people are made in God’s image, each human being is valuable and offers a story that reflects God’s larger story. You will be able to connect a client’s financial questions to their deeper needs and motivations.

Principle of Instability • Markets and economies are not stable. • Due to instability, provisions against uncertainty may fail. • Risk needs to be managed through diversification and an appropriate allocation of wealth and risk. Principle of Human Productivity • Productivity is the combination of human creativity and natural resources. • Wealth is created as a result of human productivity. Principle of Leadership & Governance • The manner in which leaders govern (governments, corporations, etc.) significantly influences the productivity of the people they lead. • Environments with greater civil and economic freedom tend to provide more fertile ground for investment due to increased human productivity.

• Environments with greater civil and economic freedom tend to provide more fertile ground for investment due to increased human productivity. Principle of Inherent Value • Investors and markets are not always rational. • Eagerness for gain, or fear of loss, can drive investors into bubbles and crashes. • Opportunities or risks can be identified when a disciplined valuation process is used to determine the inherent value of an investment. Principle of Applied Wisdom • The world is uncertain but not chaotic. • Reasonable decisions can reduce exposure to high-risk environments. • Applying wisdom principles may not eliminate risk, but it may improve the chance of successful outcomes. JIM WISE - BREAKOUT #1 MISSIONAL MARKETING

SESSION NOTES Why might God choose to bless, grow and prosper a Kingdom Advisor’s practice? Why might God choose not to bless - or even choose to hinder or reduce - a Kingdom Advisor’s practice? “ Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men… It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” - Colossians 3:23

ABOUT THE SPEAKER Jim Wise is the Managing Director for Ronald Blue & Co.’s Orlando and Ft. Lauderdale branch offices and a Principal with the firm. Prior to joining the firm, Jim worked as Vice President of Investments with Salomon Smith Barney. He also worked as a financial consultant with Paine Webber for seven years. Before moving to Fort Lauderdale in 2009 to lead the firm’s newest branch office, Jim served as the Managing Director of the Baltimore office.

“ The aim of marketing is to know and understand the customer so well the product or service fits him and sells itself.” - Peter Drucker MISSIONAL MARKETING TOOL 1. Choose your natural affinity groups: List one or several groups that you share a natural interest/connection with (i.e. based on faith/church, ministry involvement, education, hobbies, interests, etc.) 4. Identify opportunities for serving: List at least three specific ways in which you could serve the people/ organizations listed in #3 above.

5. Refine description of your service offering: Write out a concise 30- to 60-second description of your service offering, including an abbreviated version of your ideal client description. 6. Hone your listening and observation skills: If either skill represents an area of weakness, write down one or two exercises you can engage in that will help you improve in these areas. Include any opportunities for accountability (i.e. spouse, supervisor, team member). 7. Become a “connector”: Write down any clients you can think of who have a current need for which you can connect them with a potential solution (i.e. professional service need, spiritual growth need, networking need, etc.) 8. Invite those who are a fit to become clients: Write out your personal “invitation” for an ideal prospect to become a client. MITCH ANTHONY - BREAKOUT #2

BECOMING A MASTER BIOGRAPHER OF YOUR CLIENTS

SESSION NOTES If you view your role as a biographer first and as a solicitor second, you will invariably find connections with every client. ABOUT THE SPEAKER Mitch Anthony is the founder and president of Advisor Insights, Inc. (the parent company of MitchAnthony. com, The Financial Life Planning Institute, PracticeTools. net, NewRetirementality.com, and Insights Press).
