Gaurav Bajaj’s Haryanvi act Gaurav Bajaj has appeared in television shows, commercials, and movies such as Phir Kabhi and Dahek: A Restless Mind. He currently plays the male lead in Life Ok Serial Kaisa Ye Ishq Hai..Ajab Sa Risk Hai opposite Sukirti Kandpal. Gaurav speaks about his life and his role By Sandeep Hattangadi What are the shows that you have done? I’ve done Sapno se Bhare Naina On Star Plus, Uttran on COLORS and now Kaisa Yeh Ishq Hai on LIFE OK. How did you get the role of Rajveer in Kaisa Yeh Ishq Hai? I got a call from the office for the screen test and was not in India at the time. I came back to Mumbai and found out that this is a Haryanvi character. I found it more interesting when I heard the role and concept, as I always wanted to do something which I am not. I spoke to my mother before giving the screen test. She believed in me and her blessings got me going and I became Rajveer from there on. How much do you relate to the character? I relate to Rajveer behavior wise but not personality wise at all. I‘m a complete family person. I respect each and every member in my family. However, the upbringing is also same since I have a joint family too.

You are playing a romantic married guy, and are also getting married in real life. How do you feel? That’s a reel Rajveer playing the character but this is Gaurav in real life playing his part from his soul. I’m glad and waiting to discover more about myself post marriage as an individual. How is it working with Sukriti Khandpal? She is a good co-star. We share a mutual understanding both on and off screen. Are you not trying for films? Yes. I’m open to films in all languages. How is it working with Manish Goswami as a producer? It’s like driving a vintage car or having a dinner in a palace which is 200 years old. I’m glad and happy to be working with a producer like him. I feel secure since he is one of the oldest producers in the industry. He’ll always be a father figure to me. What kind of films you would like to do? I am open to small and lead role in
films but Punjabi films really attract me. Where do you see yourself five years from now? I’m going with the flow. All the blessings I receive will place me right. Any interesting experience from the sets? Many things happen every day. However, I remember the scene where I was tired working and fell asleep while giving a sleeping shot. I thank my director who cut for lunch. I woke up after 20 minutes and was extremely surprised at what had happened. Any interesting fan experience? A beggar gave me a rose at the signal saying she loves me, asked me to give her a flying kiss. I did that and I could feel a real blessing from the kid. Do you feel the TV industry is dominated by women? Possibly, but how does that matter? A hero makes the heroine and vice versa. It’s compulsory to have a hero in any story.

Bade Ache Lagtey Hai on Sony Entertainment Television has won the hearts of millions with its simple yet unique storyline. Now, the viewers will soon get to see some high voltage drama. In an upcoming episode, there would be a drastic twist, where Priya’s three daughters Pihu, Myrah and Pari will be seen going against her. Since Priya comes out of a coma she starts restricting the daughters about the way they are using their pocket money or even going out with their friends to party. Pihu does not like this interference and soon starts comparing Priya with Juhi. Within time, all three daughters will be seen going against Priya and supporting Juhi as a better mother. It will be interesting to see how Ram Kapoor reacts to this.
EASY RIDER
Sony Entertainment Television’s newly launched show Desh ki beti Nandini, Kirti Nagpure is roaming around on her scooty but is finding the whole thing entirely new. A birdie from the set told us that when Kirti had got to know that she had to ride a scooty in the serial she was very excited. Talking about her experience, she says, “I have never ridden a two wheeler ever in my life so I was looking forward to it. In fact, my co-star Raafi Malik helped me a lot by giving me some tips on how to create the right balance. It was tough intially but once you get the technique, it’s fun. Now I keep riding it all over the set.” Well, it seems that our Nandini knows how to make the most of everything.
