(1 month memberships cannot be canceled) MEMBERSHIP TERMINATION Members found abusing the facility or breaking the code of conduct will have their membership terminated. The Municipality of Kincardine reserves the right to terminate memberships without refunds for time lost.

HOLD POLICY Members may request a membership hold once per year for a maximum of 5 months. 30 days notice is required to hold your monthly pre-authorized payment. Holds will not be processed retroactively.

Children under the age of 11 must be accompanied by a person over the age of 16. Children 5-11 must complete the facility swim test to swim without a lifejacket. The facility swim test consists of a 30m swim where the swimmer must maintain a horizontal position on their front and submerge their face. Children under five and those who are unable to complete the facility swim test must be accompanied by someone over the age of 16 and remain within arms reach at all times in the water.

Join us for a Latin dance party! The instructor uses a variety of dance moves to give participants a fun aerobic workout set to thumping beats to keep you pumping!

This class has participants use a belt in the deep end. You will try different movements of varying intensities to work all muscle groups.

SHALLOW AQUAFIT

The tethered class uses belts and bungee cords secured to the lane ropes to give added resistance in the water! Participants will experience an exceptional high intensity cardio workout.

This class provides a great aerobic workout in the shallow end of the pool. Instructors show you a variety of movements, you pick the intensity that is right for you!

CHILD'S SWIM CLASS DESCRIPTIONS • PARENT & TOT 1 4 - 12 months (accompanied by care-giver)

Babies and caregivers get wet, work on buoyancy and movement, positions in the water and shallow water entries & exits. (Cost: $79.00)

• PARENT & TOT 2 1 - 2 years (accompanied by care-giver)

Babies and caregivers work on rhythmic breathing, moving forward and backward, front and back floats with recovery and shallow water entries/exits. (Cost: $79.00)

• PARENT & TOT 3 2 - 3 yrs (accompanied by care-giver)

Toddlers and their caregivers work on submersion, front and back floats/glides, jumping into chest-deep water with assistance, front kick/front swim. (Cost: $79.00)

• PRESCHOOL A (TRANSITION) 2.5 - 3 years (accompanied)

Toddlers ready to transition without a care-giver in the water may participate in this program. Caregivers must be in the water for the first five weeks of the program. Preschoolers learn to float and glide on front and back assisted. They put their face in the water and blow bubbles. They jump into chest-deep water and practice shallow water movement wearing a personal flotation device. Fitness swim 1-2m (unassisted). (Cost: $79.00)

• PRESCHOOL B 4 - 6 years (must complete preschool A if under 4 - unaccompanied)

Preschoolers jump into chest-deep water and get in and get out wearing a PFD. They submerge and exhale under water. They glide on front and back 3m and with a buoyant aid with flutter kick on back 5m Fitness swim 2-4m unassisted. (Cost: $79.00)

• PRESCHOOL C 4 - 6 years (unaccompanied)

Preschoolers try both a jump and a side roll into deep water while wearing a PFD. They recover objects from the bottom in waist-deep water. They work on kicking and gliding through the water on front and back unassisted. Fitness swim 5-7m unassisted. (Cost: $79.00)

• PRESCHOOL D 4 - 6 years (unaccompanied)

Preschoolers learn independent jumps into deep water and exit. They open their eyes under water and recover objects from chest-deep water.

Front crawl is introduced at this level and for 2-3m unassisted. Fitness swim is 7-9m unassisted. (Cost: $79.00)

• PRESCHOOL E 4 - 6 years (unaccompanied)

CHILD'S SWIM CLASS DESCRIPTIONS • SWIMMER 1 6-12 years

Beginners become comfortable jumping into the water with and without a personal flotation device. They open their eyes, exhale and hold their breath underwater. They work on floats, glides and kicking on front and back. (Cost: $79.00)

• SWIMMER 2 6-12 years

Advanced beginners jump into deeper water, and become comfortable falling sideways into the water wearing a personal flotation device.

Swimmers support themselves at the surface without an aid, recover an object in chest-deep water. Fitness swim is 10-15m. (Cost: $79.00)

• SWIMMER 3 6-12 years

Swimmers develop front and back crawl strokes, and explore whip kick in a vertical position. Swimmers tread water for up to 30 sec. and learn to transition from front to back flutter kick. Fitness swim is 20-25m. (Cost: $79.00)

• SWIMMER 4 6-12 years

Swimmers work towards stride dives and standing dives into deep water. They improve front crawl, back crawl and whip kick. Swimmers are introduced to a 3m underwater swim. Fitness swim is 50m. (Cost: $79.00)

• SWIMMER 5 6-12 years

Junior swimmers shallow dive into deep water and perform in-water back somersaults. They achieve the Canadian Swim to Survive Standard: roll into deep water, tread 1 minute and swim 50m. Swimmers continue to develop front and back crawl while breaststroke skills are introduced.

Fitness swim is 100m. (Cost: $96.00)

• SWIMMER 6

8-12 years

Intermediate swimmers increase efficiency in front crawl, back crawl, and work to develop breaststroke skills. They are introduced to stride entries, scissor kick and vertical dolphin kick. They also develop strength and power by performing front and back crawl sprints. Fitness swim is 150m. (Cost: $96.00)

• SWIMMER 7 8-12 years

Intermediate swimmers master dolphin kick, diving of blocks and eggbeater.

They are introduced to sculling and continue to maximize efficiency in front crawl and breaststroke. Fitness swim is 300m. (Cost: $96.00)

• SWIMMER 8 8-12 years

Swimmers rise to the challenge of advanced aquatic skills including head and foot first surface dives and a 25m obstacle swim. First aid focuses on assessment of conscious victims, contacting EMS and treatment for bleeding. They swim lengths of front crawl, back crawl and breaststroke.

Fitness is 350m. (Cost: $96.00)

• SWIMMER 9 8-12 years

Swimmers continue stroke development with 75m swims of front crawl, back crawl and breast stroke. Lifesaving skills include a rescue with a buoyant aid and a timed object support. First aid focuses on assessment of unconscious victims, treatment of victims in shock and obstructed airway procedures. Fitness swim is 500m. (Cost: $96.00)

• SWIMMER 10

8-12 years

Swimmers develop each stroke over 100m. They also learn lifesaving skills such as entries with aids, removals of unconscious victims. First aid focuses on treatment of victims with bone and joint injuries, and respiratory emergencies. Swimming drills develop a strong lifesaving foundation. Fitness swim is 600m. AGE REQUIREMENTS & SUPERVISION Campers must be 4 years of age by their first day of camp. All participants must be fully toilet trained by the start of camp. Maximum participant numbers are determined by the number of staff, based on ratios. We adhere and do not make exceptions to these numbers, in order to ensure the safe supervision of our program. The Municipality of Kincardine Summer Day Camp follows High Five’s, Principles of Health Child Development safety and supervision standards.

IMPORTANT CAMP INFO REGISTRATION & PAYMENT OPTIONS Registration starts Tuesday March 24th, 2020 at 7:00am The Davidson Centre Office will be open for early registration at 7:00am March 24th. We accept weekly registrations only. If space is available after the start of each week, participants may be registered at a pro-rated rate.

PAYMENT OPTIONS Now accepting credit cards! Along with cash, cheque and debit is accepted in person at the Recreation Office during Office Hours. Full payment must be made at the time of registration, or with a credit card payment plan.

No exceptions will be made.

25% NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT A 25% Non-Refundable Deposit (per camper/per week) is required for all Summer Day Camp registrations at the time of registration. Participants will be charged this fee if cancellation of any week occurs.

25% CANCELLATION FEE & TRIP WEEKS Cancellations must be received no later than 7 days prior (14 days for trip weeks) to the start of camp by 4:30pm in order to receive a refund (less the 25% Non-Refundable Deposit).

If cancellations of trip weeks occur after the 14 days, participants will be charged the trip fee and a 25% cancellation fee for the cancelled week.

REFUNDS Refunds by cheque take between 2-4 weeks to process and will be received in cheque form via mail. Refunds will NOT be given in the form of cash or debit return.

LATE PICK-UP FEE

There will be a $10 late fee charge for every 10 minutes after 5:00pm pickup time.

DROP-OFF & PICK-UP

Children must be signed in and out daily by approved guardian or caregiver. Only adults listed will be permitted to pick-up children. Please notify the Camp Coordinator if this changes throughout the day.

SAFE ARRIVAL PROGRAM

Safety is our number one priority at camp! If you know your child will be late or absent please notify the Camp Coordinator. Every absent camper will receive a phone call home daily if they are absent (without notification).

INDOOR WALKING TRACK HOURS 6am - 11pm | Sunday to Saturday // Closed on Statutory Holidays The Davidson Centre operates an indoor walking track facility that is open for use during operating hours.

The track is free to use however donations are welcome in the donation box located in the foyer of the track. Our indoor track is perfect for use during the winter months when the snow can make recreational walking quite difficult. Our bright, clean and modern track awaits!
