HOUSE RENOVATION PROBLEMS AND CURRENT CONDITIONS

RENOVATION PROPOSAL : CAFE AND RESTAURANT
old structure - has been built long time ago and have never been renovated before The house will be renovated to a more modern house, with the function of being a cafe and restaurant from the ground floor up to the third floor More than just the cafe and restaurant, the third floor will also be renovated to be an outdoor garden with the design of the green roof on top, with the purpose of giving customers a different type of feeling, which is the connection with nature contrasting to the indoor vibe. We propose it to be a cafe and restaurant, as we have seen the potentials business and development throughout the areas, which is more ideal than functioning it as a residential area, that is somehow will give less benefits.

PRESERVATIONS :
Instead of changing the whole house into a completely new resident, we are trying our best to preserve some of the original designs, and then alter some parts so as to make the house more sustainable for a Cafe. And with a better spatial design it will help with the overall business and living environment
AESTHETICS :
To keep the building up to date, we have proposed some designs that are mostly used in the modern days like adding louvers and plants. The new features will give off a better look and bring a nice fit to the surrounded community like the national museum.

PREK TNOUT COMMUNITY CENTER
CONCEPT INSPIRATION
The originality of the building is inspired from the livelihood of the people in Chba Mon area. As observed, the locals rely mainly on the Prek Tnoat river, as they mostly build houses surround the river and create a living by fishing and farming. Because of that, it influenced us to build a community centre by constructing blocks of building surrounding the path way and waterway to replace the concept of the river. This is how we come up with a "A community centre from a community.".
