The non refundable creative fee secures your session date and covers my time/talent It also includes up to 2 hours of unlimited shooting for up to 8 people ($25 for each additional family member), an online private password protected gallery that will be active for 30 days, with a minimum 20 edited images shown in color and black & white I can provide you with location suggestions should you need advice on the type of session you are looking to capture. The location can be at a beach, park, or at your home. Prints and digital images are not included. Choose from the following session types: just the kids: up to 4 siblings newborn: focus on the baby and interactions w/ mom & dad Siblings are always captured with your new little one family: a more candid session up to 5 members of the same immediate family

Because families are my life, (yours AND mine), I book a limited number of shoots each month I am typically booked 3 4 months in advance for a session I keep a few dates a month free for newborn sessions because their arrivals dates are always changing I prefer cash/checks I also accept credit cards, PayPal, Venmo, and Zelle

A lot of time I hear don't have time to clean up my house/apartment before the session I just want to say that sessions at home tend to be more intimate, relaxed, and more personal Your home doesn't have to look like a Pottery Barn catalog it should reflect you, Imperfections and all You will be surprised with what we can do at home! And your baby will be happy to be in the place they are growing to love It's lovely, if you can manage it, to give the baby a full feeding around the time/just before I arrive It would be perfect to have the baby in just a towel or swaddled with a somewhat loosely fastened diaper underneath. Ideally, the baby will be completely full and yet not quite asleep when I have set up (will take me about 10 minutes to bring things in and get ready) Generally I will then hold the baby to sleep this seems to work well because then they are not expecting more milk ;) once I have them
About an hour before your session turn your house temperature to around 80 85 degrees
When should I schedule my newborn session?
Newborns love to be warm, especially when they're naked I will also bring a space heater for added warmth. Warmth is key to capturing poses.

Newborn sessions are totally relaxed and we'll go at yours and the baby pace, with plenty of time for breaks nursing, etc Please do not stress at all, and I forbid you from tidying up too much before l arrive! Mom must rest, and I will simply move anything I need to out of the frame You can have some of your favorite swaddling blankets out but, other than that, bare shots are truly best for newborns as they are generally lost in clothing A well fitting onesie is really the only clothing I have seen on a newborn that doesn't look like it swallows them. I will bring a few blankets, swaddles, etc. with me as well Black shirts without much detail can be nice for parents (since they are often the "backdrop" in some of the photos) out we can try some softer colors and pastels as well as those often dovetail nicely with the lighter colors of the baby blankets and white onesies.
The best time to schedule your newborn session is within 5 9 days after delivery
A few helpful tips.... The session is held during a weekday during the morning hours for the absolute best light in your home I travel to you so that you and your baby never have to leave the comfort of your surroundings When I arrive, I will walk through the house looking for the best source of natural light to do the session I do not use any artificial lights at all, but please do not worry, I always find light to use for a session, even in the tiniest of spaces

Also, if there is anything you would want in the photos, please let me know, I love to incorporate meaningful belongings into portraits Other popular choices include local parks or beaches The possibilities are endless!! What's most important is that you and your child are comfortable in order for true personalities to shine through All I ask is that if we are meeting on a location, or I am coming to your home, to please only have the people being photographed at the home. If you could have everyone dressed and ready to go for the session before I arrive. Children are more likely to become grouchy if they are rushed before the session. It will make for a more relaxed environment.
Each session generally lasts 1 2 hours. I want you, your children, your dog, etc to feel relaxed and not pressured! If the kids (or you) need a snack or a drink do it We all get tired & hungry! I strive to capture a moment or mood that is pure and real, allowing true personalities to shine through I like to think I put a unique twist on the traditional portrait I don't want you to stress about any of it, so if you leave it to me, we will have a great day As I like to say, you can leave your parent cap at the door because you won't have to direct your little ones to smile

It is also not uncommon to just take your little one hand and try getting some one on one time with them And I will usually do some pretty crazy things to get them to smile like putting a shoe on my head!) I will do very little traditional posing; I rely on interaction of how people naturally feel comfortable sitting, or standing. I may ask you to tilt your head, or ask your little one to put his /her hands behind their back, etc. but 98% of the time I am not telling you how to pose. Your photography session can take place at a number of locations If I come to your home, I will ask you for a tour when I first get there What I am doing is scoping out the best place with the best light I have been known to move furniture to get the best lighting, but I promise to put everything back when I leave!!

My answer to you: Whatever you want Seriously Whatever you feel most comfortable in. Your photos represent you and your lifestyle. So wear something that makes you smile. My only suggestions for parent is to make sure the outfits blend (clean lines & classic shapes photograph the best)
My answer for babies or children: FUN. Simple as that. Bring clothes that will make them SMILE. Dressing them in FUN clothes that don't restrict them will bring out their loving, over flowing personalities You want your baby or children to shine in your photos and typically putting them in clothes that make them uncomfortable will show With girls why not have fun with ruffles, ribbons or maybe a tutu? For boys instead of sneakers, maybe some cowboy boots, rain boots or converse sneakers? And hats!! Kids + Hats = MAGIC Bring a couple of changes of clothing too We can have fun swapping out of outfits! Just remember to be true to you and your personality!
