Villawood, a trusted developer, very much at home in Sunbury

Kimberley is Villawood’s third community in Sunbury, and we’re excited to be able to share what we love about this unique place. A place that has been planned with quality of life and time for what matters in mind. Where you can be sure that the home you’re providing for your loved ones is everything you’d want it to be, and memories are made each day that reflect just how good it is.

Villawood Properties is one of Australia’s most-trusted residential land developers. This reputation is the culmination of over 30 years’ experience and a proven track record in delivering innovative, community-focused developments.

From modest beginnings in 1989 developing small subdivisions in Bendigo, to the large scale masterplanned communities we deliver today, Villawood Properties’ commitment has and always will be to create vibrant places, where the people who live there form strong and lasting relationships.

We’re proud to support dozens of causes, clubs and special interest groups. The kind of ones that don’t receive big corporate dollars, but really do create the sense of community we have come to know and love.

Everything we do links back to our core values of Creativity, Passion, Innovation, Sustainability and above all, Community. To date that commitment has seen Villawood recognised with 28 major awards across the areas of best residential, masterplanning, design, environment, landscape, community engagement, water and more. Now that same dedication to delivering something exceptional could be yours to enjoy with Kimberley, our idyllic new community on Sunbury’s escarpment.

An idyllic new community on Sunbury’s escarpment

Whether it’s the surrounding landscape of towering trees, the ground that rises and falls then rises some more, or the views that extend your perspective, you would have to look far and wide to find a more beautiful setting.

Spanning a stunning escarpment, here will be a community that overlooks countryside, the township of Sunbury, and the majestic Mount Macedon ranges. A sight that shows you don’t have to move far to immerse yourself in nature. You don’t have to stay in the city to live only minutes from every convenience. In fact, you can now have it all and more. That’s Kimberley. Naturally. Elevated. Living.

Have all the outdoor space you could ever want and more, but without feeling isolated. Right from the start those moving to Kimberley will be connected with the community, that starts in your street and extends all the way into the Sunbury township, with the Melbourne CBD only 30 minutes by train.

Café culture

Here people are passionate about their food and love to talk about it. With coffee to rival Melbourne’s inner city, and fresh food, locally grown, Sunbury attracts foodies from near and far.

Good sports

Sunbury residents are mad about sport. Whether it’s playing footy for Rupo, cricket for Sunbury Cricket Club, or a round of golf at Goonawarra Golf Course—whatever you play there’s a club you can join. Or just turn up to cheer from the sidelines.

Vineyard to glass

As one of Victoria’s oldest wine regions with vines dating back to the 1850s, Sunbury is home to a number of renowned, historic, wineries.

Local shops

Living here you’ll soon have a long list of favourite shops. The go to ones. Then over time you’ll add those specialty stores that catch your eye whenever you’re passing. No wonder so many locals wouldn’t shop anywhere else.

A place with a long and proud history

Kimberley 28

Thousands of years ago, the Wurundjeri people marked five circles in the soil, as sacred sites where they would gather. Today, those earth rings have been preserved and will remain forever after, as a constant reminder that here is somewhere very special.

In 1882, it was the English Cricket Team who gathered here in Sunbury, playing a game on the grounds of Sir William Clarke’s Rupertswood Mansion. After the game, either the stumps, the cricket balls or both were burnt and the ashes were stored in a terracotta urn. Later the urn and it’s contents were gifted to the English Captain and The Ashes, as they became known, took their place in cricketing history.

In the four years from 1972–1975, Sunbury would attract over a hundred thousand rock fans with bands from as far away as Britain, including Deep Purple and Queen. The Sunbury Rock Festival, staged on a farm, became the stuff of legend. With many live albums sold and a feature film named ‘Sunbury’, the event would eventually make it’s way into Victoria’s Music Hall of Fame.

Villawood is committed to sustainability

A place this naturally beautiful deserves to be preserved and we take that responsibility seriously—for generations to come. An eco-friendly approach to conserve resources and curb household costs has been carefully considered. An all-electric 7 star energy rated community, in which three trees will be planted per homesite in public parks and reserves. With sustainability at its heart, Club Kimberley goes the extra mile including solar, double glazing, stormwater treatment, water tank storage and electric vehicle charging amongst many other initiatives.

With the integration of solar, electric car charging provision, water tanks and the use of planet-friendly materials in homes, as a community we look for every opportunity to make a difference. Home builders at Kimberley are also encouraged to go further by using draught-tolerant landscaping and maybe even planting a veggie patch.

Kimberley’s sustainability initiatives are not only for the wellbeing of this generation, but to ensure we leave our world even better than we found it.

Community is our passion

The Villawood Foundation brings under one umbrella various community sponsorships, grants, and events. The Foundation provides more than $3 million a year to charities and community groups, with the purpose of growing their important activities and value, this includes many local groups in the Sunbury region.

It’s part of creating vibrant, sustainable communities, and it gives us a unique opportunity to get to know our residents and what’s important to them. As Sunbury continues to thrive into the future, we’ll be there with support, every step of the way.
