Kim Sandford OUGD303 Brief 2 - Fashion Yearbook This has got to be one of the hardest briefs out of them all. Mainly due to the fashion students deadline was quite late and therefore they didnt have any content for us to put in the book till 2 days before we had to send it to print. However I think we worked well as a team and organised ourselves well to be ready to place their images in. 1/5

Kim Sandford OUGD303 Brief 2 - Fashion Yearbook To begin the design of the book we decided to split the 40 students between the 4 of us and organised the fashion students with an email to send their written content to. I had chosen Gill Sans for the type of the book, and also came up with the 10 x 10 grid to work in. Both Charlotte and I worked together and created 4 strong layouts of which can be used for a variety of image wether that be landscape, portrait, small or large. 2/5


Kim Sandford OUGD303 Brief 2 - Fashion Yearbook Whilst we could not get any images from fashions students we decided to create everything we could ourselves ready to place the images in. I created the front cover, after speaking with Gemma she did say she wanted the fashion books to incorporate the idea of cutting and broken glass, of which is the idea for their show. 3/5


Kim Sandford OUGD303 Brief 2 - Fashion Yearbook Once we got the images it was a matter of placing them in the layout that we had already pre-made. Which was succesfull in that nearly all the images fit in to the layout. On getting the images and printing the book we realised that having the type on the inside was not a good idea due to the bind, therefore I moved the designs to the edge. I created 14 student layouts for the book in total. 4/5


Kim Sandford OUGD303 Brief 2 - Fashion Yearbook These photograpsh show the detail in the type and also the layouts details that I went through thoroughly. Such as widows, spelling, grammer and punctuation alongwith the layout of the placements. 5/5
