October 21, 2023 The Magnolia Classic 2023
Saturday,

With immense gratefulness, we are honored to present to you The Magnolia Classic 2023 catalog!

This year’s collaboration, with over twenty consignors, provides buyers opportunities to select from a variety of outcross options to build and/or improve their genetic programs. With an offering including bred and open females, a bull, flush and frozen genetics, from both the US and Canada, the options are quite impressive.

2023 presented farming challenges that continued to hobble agricultural growth and development for many. From unrelenting drought conditions and heat indexes to astronomical increases in operational costs, more and more farms ceased to exist, being forced to sell down or sell out. Being able to host The Magnolia Classic again this year is an honor and a privilege we do not take for granted.

We want to thank our sponsors for their continued support of the sale and Little Creek Cattle. We are truly blessed with an incredible support network and appreciate them more than they know. From equipment, feed, insurance, financial and semen collection services to all that the Co-Op offers, we could not do what we do without them!

We give God praise! Our family received a miracle as Nikki was given a health report we never imagined –REMISSION! A diagnosis never believed possible for her rare cancer – BUT GOD! While this is likely just a “reprieve” from her battle, we also have faith in a risen Savior who is all powerful! We are humbled by His continued favor and strive to live according to Colossians 3:23-24 – “Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward and that the Master you are serving is Christ.”

We are truly blessed with incredible family and sweet friends! Bailey & Hannah, the Moores, Graves, Gardners, Smiths, Wallaces, Ellisons, Mrs. Nell and countless others – we thank God for you! Navigating through life is much easier with our “community,” and we are grateful for their continued love and support!

Don’t forget to participate in the exciting activities sale weekend – Horse Rides, Fishing Derby, Cow Chip Bingo, Silent Auction, Cattlemen’s Church – just to name a few! It’s a weekend the entire family will enjoy!

On behalf of Little Creek Cattle and our Guest Consignors, we look forward to hosting you at the farm on sale weekend! If you are unable to attend in person, we will be broadcasting the sale live on DVAuction and will have staff available to help you place bids.

May God continue to bless us all!

Thank You

Similar type and kind to one of last year’s high sellers, Red Oak Helena, LCC Janna 501J is the type of heifer that will do very well establishing herself in the top of the sale order. Balanced from head to tail with a very attractive spring of rib and the pedigree that is sure to provide that scale pounding “punch.” She possesses the maternal traits we should all be searching for to make the next generation even better. Jessi 507J, with a little twist of pedigree, she is sure to be an outcross, old school consideration. Bold, Hafke, Siegfried, ZO Niner - they can all be found in her pedigree. While she certainly possesses the “who’s who” of the Fleckvieh genetics, she flaunts the phenotypic perspective. Balancing out head to tail, good legs and feet, and color correct, she has endless potential. Bred to APLX Coach for a well numbered, potentially Homo-polled calf. The calf will pay for the cow! Red Oak Jasmine is “MATERNAL”! Jasmine is a polled, super feminine Starwest Pol Blueprint daughter out of an outcross cow, Little Creek Bishop 545B. Every year, I hope for an outcross bull out of Bishop whose pedigree contains Hamlet, Nero, and Hacks Frauline to name a few. Instead, she produces excellent quality heifers year after year and Jasmine is one of her best to date. I cannot imagine her new farm being disappointed in her or the polled APLX Coach 37J calf she is carrying. (50% chance calf will be homozygous polled).

We must have really enjoyed the southern hospitality last year because we are once again honored to be a part of the Magnolia Classic. We would like to thank all those who welcomed us last year and couldn’t wait to be a part of this amazing event again. With Cashmere having another stellar year for us again it was only fitting to bring another daughter. United 12L, a cherry red girl, has been a favorite of many who have visited the farm this summer. With her sire’s typical markings and muscle pattern this girl has both power and femininity that we love to see in our heifers. BLCC 166G, was purchased from Bonchuck Farms in 2020 and has been everything we expected to be a front pasture cow in our herd. With a large frame, this cow has a ton of performance with a great udder and flawless feet. We have kept a bred daughter this year, which allowed us to part ways with this beauty of a calf.

With this being our second year being a part of the sale it is only fitting to add a second heifer. Introducing Lexa 27L. This will be the first daughter we will be selling out of MJB Hadrian 39H. We bought this bull in 2020 from Brian Miller. He has grown into one of the largest bulls we have ever owned. With a dark red coat, he has also given us very consistent birthweights and growth in the calves. The Cow LNK 28C is out of our Benzweiser line, a heifer bull we used from 2012-15. She is a moderate sized cow with a very long spine. This cow has been a producer every single year. 27L has both power and calving ease mixed into one. Her very thick hip and back mixed with her feminine front end gives her a ton of eye appeal. We have no doubt this calf will work on anything you breed her to and will be happy with the results.

The Magnolia Classic of 2022, gave me the opportunity to purchase semen on APLX Coach to complete a set of genetics that I had been planning on since I first saw Coach. I had already decided to produce a set of embryo calves out of BHR Lady Sieg C235E and Coach that would have a super set of numbers, that would all be polled, proven pedigrees and with just enough South African genetic, going back to BHR DOORN to create the BLEND, and a mix of Austrian and German genetics that have never missed over the years: Siegfried, Antonius, Horn, Bold, Hardin, Hackenburg and Argonne.

Selling the pick of the 5 calves at weaning time. All calves will have a complete DNA profile, dilutor tested with all weaning shots and heifer, if selected, will be calfhood vaccinated. SOT will retain one viable flush, if a heifer is selected at our expense at the buyer’s convenience and 100 units of semen if a bull is selected and will pay for said production. SOT further guarantee’s that Lady Sieg will not be flushed or bred to APLX Coach and that the calves not selected will remain in the SOT herd.

The buyer will pay ½ the purchase price sale day and the other ½ will be due when selection is made.

Dasha has spent time on the halter as well with numerous wins logged. Quite possibly the most notable offspring we have realized has been sired by Little Creek Fenton 521F, now owned by PB2 in South Carolina. It took an extended period of time for us at Little Creek and Red Oak Farm to settle on what we believed to be the next breeding piece to progress our herds. While polled genetics are a valuable utility, we have been concerned that much of the outcross polled genetics available would not complement our cattle to maintain the substance and structural correctness we demand. Simply put, we don’t want to lose the quality we have built. His sire, Double Bar D Confidence is massive in his make, with tremendous capacity especially as a polled bull. Coach is in the top 25% in NINE EPD categories, with special emphasis on CE, BW, WW and YW. We have been extremely pleased with the calf crop already hitting the ground – all coming easy and developing beyond expectations at accelerated rates.

Consignor: LITTLE CREEK CATTLE FENTON….with his offspring now being of age to be in production, our supposition was nearly spot on! The females have considerable “go” with extreme femininity. The bulls have been spectacular, two of them pounding the scales to the tune of more than 900 lbs at 205 days. The bulls are good on their feet, well muscled, but gentle enough in their build to be easy calvers. The proof is here! The potential continues!

The wait is over! Where do I begin on this polled, non-dilutor stud? Back on February 25, 2019 in Bentley, Alberta a spectacle was had. Kalibre proudly walked through the ring as Mr. Don Oberg ran through the numbers. No one could have imagined what would happen next. Oberg’s hammer dropped, Kalibre was sold. A world record was set: $275,000! Word spread around the globe in a matter of minutes. Outside the ring, this calm natured bull moves elegantly across the pasture from his smooth shoulders, through a barrel of a middle into a huge hip! All this on an exceptional foot. He is made correct, well muscled, and has a good extension. His pedigree makes him the complete package. With some of the best female makers that this great breed has seen only a generation back. Bid with confidence, add to the Kalibre of your program!

First of all, we want to thank Nikki and Jason for the opportunity to be part of The Magnolia Classic Sale for the first time. We are proud to introduce this new Polled 100% Fleckvieh, dark red bull outcross to most of the bloodlines available in the USA market. Atlantis will add length, thickness and muscle to his progeny. Atlantis is very sound with solid feet and legs. He calves well by producing moderate birthweight on mature cows. The first Atlantis’s daughter’s calved this spring and they all have nice tight udder. He had 40 cm scrotal as a yearling. We put some progeny pictures below, so you can see what kind of calves Atlantis can produce. Follow us on Facebook as we will post a video of Atlantis and progeny before the sale. We will keep his semen very exclusive; we will be offering only a few dose packs in special events in 2023. USA/Mexico qualified.

Polled 100% Fleckvieh - We can easily say that Manchester meets the high expectations we had when we bought him in 2019 has the high seller at the Double Bar D bull sale for the price of $80,000. His impact on our respective herd is huge. Manchester calves have moderate birth weight and are extremely vigorous. His progeny is extremely deep ribbed with added muscle expression. We breed many light-colored or white spotted cow to Manchester and the calves almost always end up solid coloured with darker hair than their dam. Manchester’s calves are easy to recognize because they all look the same. His consistency is one of his best attributes: he stamps them. All his daughters have really nice udder. We only sold few doses of Manchester privately to USA and its the first time we share his semen in an USA auction. This is the only doses we are selling in 2023 in USA. USA qualified.

Top Gun is dark red, extremely thick, moderate framed, easy keeping, very smooth moving, and has developed into quite a strapping young man. Top Gun is out of LCF Winsome and FGAF Radioactive whose progeny have been highly sought after in the US and Canada. His pedigree speaks for itself and I believe he is one of the most powerful homozygous polled bulls to come around. The search for a herd bull is a never ending task. When we found Radioactive as a yearling and he was a bull we felt would be a valuable addition to our bull battery. We were in search of a bull that we felt could work into our heifer pen, which we feel is one of the toughest spots to fill. In our program we are not afraid to admit we are a bit greedy. We wanted a bull that could calve well, but we also expect to have high end marketable calves. Radioactive certainly fit the bill, and his calves have been very desirable. His daughters have now proven themselves to also be phenomenal mother cows with great dispositions, tremendous foot and leg structure, impeccable udders, and easy keeping. We have sold a very limited amount of semen on this great bull, and unfortunately due to injury he is no longer with us, so his semen will become a bit more limited in time. This is a great opportunity to purchase semen on a highly proven bull who is not readily available on the open market.

If you are looking for something a bit different than the bloodlines offered in today’s world, we think you should consider using Cujo. He offers outcross genetics with maternal strength, impeccable udders and easy muscling. We are bringing him back into our own herd knowing that maternal impact that’s in his DNA. Three Cujo daughters are poised to begin working at Lone Stone in the near future and we cannot wait.

Last year I was excited to offer Jerome semen in the 2022 Magnolia Classic because of his potential and the newness of his Canadian genetics to the US Fleckvieh marketplace. Well, in this his second year, I am even more excited to offer him. Jerome’s first calves arrived this spring and they are incredible. Big boned, heavily pigmented, heavily muscled, and all polled. His calves are selling themselves. If you want darker colored calves than Jerome’s, you’ll have to use a black bull. .Jerome is homo polled, non-diluted, dark red, 100% Fleckvieh and 100% masculine bull. Jerome has been used on heifers, but I would recommend using him only on cows. This is a powerful homo polled bull.

Mr Juggernaut 371A is the sire of LNK 50D the dam of Haley 4k. She was the Cashmere female we sold in the Magnolia last year. Truly a bull with tons of power. MFI Whistler, his paternal grandfather, certainly can be credited for passing this performance onto him. The females off Juggernaut have been true gems. Long, stout, deep hipped on a big foot. In our original female sale in 2015, we did a buyers draw on 371A. Keet Simmental won 5 straws and we personally know he used all 5 straws and got a calf every time. Only recently did we realize that we had US qualified semen on this bull so thought we would share it. If you’re looking to beef up your herd, this bull could be what you looking for.

But in 2021 I got the opportunity to buy Bella’s remarkable dam, Willow Oaks Swanhilde. Swanhilde had one more calf left in her, and at age 15, she delivered Saint John Bravo. Bravo is sired by Grinalta’s HP Bravo. Saint John Bravo is a well balanced bull with a big rear end and a great set of feet and legs under him. He’s a 100% Fleckvieh, smooth polled and dark red, non-dilutor. His EPDs indicate he can be used on heifers. His first set of calves will be on the ground by print date….So how do we access the genetics of legendary cows? Through their sons! Here he is…..Saint John Bravo.

Polled, Non-Dilutor. On our never ending quest to find the next herd bull for our polled program, Skywest Pol Havoc, a big soggy polled, non-dilutor power bull fit the bill and we knew we had to own him in the spring of 2021. Havoc is a big easy fleshing stud with exceptional length, depth and lots of natural muscle, walking on a big foot. We admired his dam’s ability to produce multiple high selling breeders’ bulls in the past, and with Havoc selling for a commanding $41,000.00, she did it again. His sire, Sibelle Pol Synergy walks the pastures of Virginia Ranch and has made his mark in their program with feature sons and daughters. Synergy is a flushmate to Sibelle Sugar Ray, who sired the record setting $355,000 BLL Rumble in the spring of 2022. Havoc himself has produced outstanding bulls and females. Our high selling bull last year going to Oakview Simmentals was a Havoc. As well, we walked a son ourselves. We have three more top of the pen sons in the Keystone Konnection sale in Canada this fall. We have retained all of his daughters, other than a bred that is top of her pen and will also be going to the Keyston Konnection sale, and Rich Mc Karolina 55K that we are offering in the Magnolia Classic. The interest in this bull has continued to build. To date, semen has been sold at auction in Canada and commanded between $500 and $600 CSD per straw. His future is bright.
