TYLER MARTINI RYAN SCOTT &

Hyphen Real Estate Group

It’s humorous to imagine Hyphen Real Estate Group owners Tyler Martini and Ryan Scott talking luxury transactions back on the preschool playground. While these two Boulder kids couldn’t have known they’d grow up and own a brokerage together, they sure did have some fun from pre-K to high school. Martini went on to Leeds School of Business at CU and Scott studied marketing and skied (All-American) at Montana State.

Boulder’s luxury housing market was steadily getting hotter as the guys graduated and pursued other ventures. Tyler ran a food truck. Ryan raced on the slopes in Vail. But the food truck turned into way too many hours for not enough money and the skiing didn’t pan out. Tyler pivoted to real estate, got his license and dabbled with a few transactions for friends and family. Ryan started working as a consultant and project manager in the fiber world. And that’s the point at which their divergent paths crossed again.

“I realized that real estate was a pretty good gig, and I liked getting to be with people and not be stuck behind a desk all day,” Martini recalls. “I hung my license with a company for two years and as quickly as I could got my managing broker license and in 2014 started Hyphen. So I was full-time into real estate and learning a lot about running a business, which made more sense as I got older.”
