KIKI

Meet Kidder

Kiki Kidder makes real estate an art form. With a Bachelor’s degree in film from the University of Colorado Boulder, Kiki sees her career as an opportunity to create the ideal story for each client. One look at her website and social media accounts, and her love of creativity and storytelling are on full display. She’s unafraid of embracing technology to showcase her properties and process, which allows clients to feel like they know Kiki before they even meet.

In person, Kiki’s compassion and

trustworthiness outmatch her online presence. She describes herself as a “glass all the way full type person.” As a realtor®, Kiki knows how to turn her clients’ dreams into a pictureperfect reality.

Kiki moved to Boulder County when she was a child and “literally grew up in the real estate industry” surrounded by her parents’ friends who were all realtors®. She remembers seeing them step away to answer messages from their pagers with her parents’ landline. It wasn’t until Kiki moved to Los Angeles to pursue her film career that she realized she missed the fresh air of Boulder.

Upon returning to Colorado and considering various careers, her parents suggested that she become a realtor®, and the family launched the boutique brokerage Kidder & Company. Adopting her father’s favorite

of maintaining relationships over her remarkable career.

saying “change or die,” Kiki embraced the change and found new ways to be her creative, passionate self in real estate.

Kiki knew that, like filmmaking, the real estate industry was all about people. She loves the human connection she finds helping people actualize their ideal reality—even better than a movie. She also discovered that the real estate process came naturally to her from observing family friends over the years. By keeping a people-focused mindset, Kiki has achieved notable success in her career. After more than 20 years in the industry, Kiki was voted in the top one percent of agents nationwide by RealTrends and The Wall Street Journal. The accolades are a testament to her tried and true methods

In 2020, Kiki assembled friends and mentees to form the Kiki Collective alongside her brokerage, Compass. She describes it as a “collective of agents and professionals who embrace collaboration.” With her close-knit team, Kiki wants clients to understand the behind-thescenes process of real estate. Each member contributes to the optimal home buying and selling experience while upholding Kiki’s elite level of professionalism. The Collective includes an operations manager and logistics coordinator, Leah Hudson, who balances Kiki’s passion with practicality. Additionally, Kiki offers an in-house videographer who she handpicked to shoot her polished home tour videos. She continues to use her love of collaboration to bring people together. “I’m a connector,” she explains. The idea for the collective sprang

to Kiki’s mind during the COVID-19 pandemic. The time at home taught Kiki to slow down her nonstop work style and expand her pursuit for meaningful human relationships. The group embodies her empathetic, humanistic approach. She can focus on her two favorite aspects of real estate: people and technology. It’s another cutting-edge way Kiki finds connection and creativity in her work.

“Paint a perfect scenario for me of what you envision the closing to look like,” Kiki recently told a new client. Kiki pushed to market their house quickly and the timing paid off. There were multiple offers on the property, higher than what the client expected. When they secured the contract, multiple colleagues relayed to Kiki that she handled the competitive sale with open communication and thoughtfulness. Utilizing

her philosophy to slow down to be present, Kiki edits each client experience to ensure she understands them and where they are at each step of the real estate process. “There’s a realtor® for every type of person out there . . . with the concept of being able to represent a client, you have to have a connection with that client,” she says of the industry. Every person she works with is a prospective member of an extended family of clients and colleagues.

Alongside supporting her work family, Kiki practices thoughtfulness and presence with her real family. Twelve years ago, Kiki

mixes her personal and professional sides and in the fun Instagram Reels she creates. Sometimes the videos show off her adorable mini golden doodle Axl-Rose, while other times they take clients inside the homes she has listed. Her next creative idea is a slideshow of her daughter Roxy’s life to celebrate her upcoming graduation. She has over 10,000 photos and videos on her phone ready for more Reels of her family and business.

met her soulmate. Despite her love of technology at work, Kiki chose a real life connection instead of online dating. She met her husband Bradley through a friend and the two blended their families. Now she and Bradley often travel to Florida to visit her in-laws. Their personal goal this year is to spend more time with both their parents. As a mother to two of her own kids and two “bonus kids”, Luke, Max, Roxy and Lily, she balances her attention between all of their many milestones. She encourages her children to follow their dreams and has a unique way of sharing their life. On her Instagram page, she

When asked what drives her, Kiki says, “looking at where I have fear and overcoming it.” As a child, Kiki feared the feeling of falling she encountered in dreams. As soon as she was old enough, she bungee-jumped from hot air balloons, jumped off of cliffs at Lake Powell and skydived to conquer her fear. Another fear came from the film Jaws, though she loves water. She bought a paddle board and took to the Boulder Reservoir to face the movie monster. Next year, she’s taking her

fear-conquering a step further by going on a cruise to Buenos Aires. Kiki even bought a Jaws t-shirt to wear on the trip. If the exposure therapy works, Kiki dreams of the other destinations she can reach by cruise ship, “I just have to get over this fear, but it could open the door to so many things.” By embracing fear, Kiki confronts problems even when they seem insurmountable. Kiki knows the key to creating a life-changing story as a realtor® and creative person is choosing courage.

Let’s meet the real Alissa Peterson.

She’s a connector – a bridge builder. In a working environment where collaboration and trust are crucial to success, she and her colleagues work creatively to solve problems and meet the challenges that arise on the way to the closing table. The work requires transparency and availability. That means a lot of time on the phone, day and night, connecting, being real with one another. Neither life nor business is a game; playing one wouldn’t be in the best interest of her clients. “We laugh a lot and play our way through even the most challenging times,” Alissa says. “People want to be good, want to be seen, heard, and will rise to be at their best if we allow, cultivate, and support them in going big, following their dreams, and being amazing.”

If you’ve worked with Alissa, you’ll recall feeling valued and known, being heard and seen. These are her core values. As she puts it, swimming at the surface with people doesn’t cut it. She wants to know what’s true about the person in front of her and what makes them come alive. Clients respond to this empathy with trust and that connection is

opportunity to tell the story of an authentic, lovely soul who greets each day with curiosity and gratitude.

rising star

both beautiful and priceless. “This is the gift of my work,” Alissa explains. “I get to know my clients at a pretty deep level, and seeing them beyond the surface may just be why I can feel when the house is right. My clients trust that I know them well enough to call it when I see it.” This exact scenario played out recently when a client was out of the country and trusted Alissa to pursue a home that was right out of their dreams, sight unseen.

Trust is Hard Earned

Imagine for a moment trying to help buy or sell a home for someone who doesn’t trust you.

With the cornerstone of the relationship missing, how would you work together? Needless to say, trust is, as Alissa well knows, hard earned. Trust and loyalty are foundational in all her relationships, which is evident in her body of work. “I have earned trust with my peers, which has led to some amazing miracles for my clients, in accepted offers, and we know that we can successfully close even the most challenging transactions,” she says. “Trust builds an unbreakable, powerful team structure. It makes people formidable to work with. Solving problems together and

troubleshooting requires putting ego aside. And that can’t be done without trust.”

Some might say there’s an alchemy – a delightful magic at work – that helps bring her home sales to the finish line, often in very challenging circumstances. “There’s no shortage of it,” Alissa muses. “None of this work would come to fruition without it.”

As hard as she works, Alissa’s family – her children Cole, 17, and Liv, 15 – are at the center of her heart and her world. This beautiful family has been through a lot together and leads with humor, playfulness, and the ability to repair well and hold each other high. “I would do anything for my kids,” Alissa says. “The care and concern they show for me is remarkable; given their age, the level of grace, compassion, sweetness and presence they have the capacity for is magical.”

Alissa and her children have created a family rhythm that allows them to adventure together, living life fully! Between the three of them, there’s skiing (for Alissa, the all-women Thera Ski Club), running, soccer, basketball, volleyball, track and field, yoga, hiking, biking, and eating beautiful

food together and that’s just the stuff we have space to mention. A good morning routine is nonnegotiable; Alissa’s includes sunrise trail runs and a rock solid meditation practice. Soccer is huge for the family, too; as Alissa says, it’s a commitment they make with a lot of passion. You’ll find this big-hearted trio enjoying nature and all that Boulder is with an adventure-forward mindset. They’re not going to miss an opportunity to be challenged and find out what they’re capable of.

Consistency Matters

When Alissa tells you she adores the people she works with and for, it’s not a platitude. Twenty-two years in real estate have given her deep respect for different points of view. “I love listening to people and hearing where they’re coming from,” she explains. “Most brokers in Boulder do that so well with curiosity, grace, and understanding. Service is at the forefront of what we do. When we elevate each other and take the high road, it’s better for Boulder.”

Showing up for clients consistently, regardless of what life may be throwing at her, is a practice for which Alissa is widely known. She wins business by being consistent, persistent, never giving up. Failure isn’t an option. Alissa was grateful to have so much work recently at the time of her father’s passing, considering it a gift to stay in her place of passion and doing what she loves. The bottom line: No matter what, she advocates for, shows up for, stays positive for and exemplifies consistency for her clients and colleagues. Every day. No matter what. In her words: “I earn trust so my clients know I will be dependable regardless of my circumstances.”

You can reach Alissa Peterson at (720) 648-4144 or compass.com/agents/alissa-peterson.

MELISSA WILLS &

realtors to know

elissa Wills and Senneca Peters

Mare best friends and business partners with the kind of friendly banter that keeps everyone around them entertained. They love mingling and, as they call it, collecting new people. They make it a point to make people feel welcome and involved whether they are networking at a real estate event or watching their kids play sports with the other parents. As Melissa said, “We are two moms with three kids who make time for our family, clients and each other while having a blast.”

Melissa’s and Senneca’s sons were on the same football team. Their kids go to the same schools, and their families even vacation together. The Wills and Peters recently took a trip to Hawaii where they paddle boarded while whale watching and hiked a volcano.

As moms, Senneca and Melissa spend a lot of their volunteer hours at their kids’ schools or for their various sports teams. However, they do find the time to give back to their communities. Both Realtors® get to help decide which local groups, foundations and places the Compass Cares funds go to and were excited by how quickly they were able to pivot and donate to the victims of the Marshall Fires in 2022. They donate to Paws for Patrick, a non-profit organization dedicated to connecting young people with emotional support animals and therapy dogs, and donate and walk for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

SENNECA PETERS

Both women moved to the Boulder area for their husbands’ work and fell in love with Colorado. Melissa came first in the early 2000s. She had lived in Colorado when her dad was stationed here in the 80s, so she already knew she would like it. She loves being outside, snowshoeing, biking and hiking or doing ropes courses with her teenage boys. She also enjoys reading, baking and cooking.

Senneca came a few years later in 2010 and brought her passion for real estate with her. Always with her children, she is a bit of a True Crime podcast addict, in two book clubs and listens to the audiobooks. She hates reading and watching tv shows more than once. She’d rather experience something new. This goes for food too. She and her family are adventurous eaters who enjoy anything that has to do with food, sports or spending time together.

Senneca loved looking at Zillow for fun and watching all of the HGTV house hunting and renovating shows even though she and her husband already owned their home. While she took a break from teaching to have her third child, she helped friends find housing both to buy and rent, so when she was ready to get back to work, she decided to shift careers and give real estate a try. It was Senneca who convinced Melissa to dive into real estate as well. At the time, Melissa was working in the outdoor industry in Boulder, but she had worked for a brokerage in Arizona during the housing boom and didn’t take much convincing.

Right away the duo started working together. They attend each other’s open houses, exchange ideas and support each other any way they can. While Senneca and Melissa have their own listings and clients, they keep each other updated on what’s going on with their individual businesses, so

they can step in for the other when necessary. They have every entrepreneur’s dream partnership: someone who’s fun to work with and able to help when needed, while still providing the autonomy entrepreneurs love. “We knew that’s what we wanted, so we created it,” Melissa says, “We are lucky to be able to pivot, laugh and get along together.”

Melissa and Senneca specialize in all types of residential real estate from high-end homes to custom builds to grandma’s old condo at Compass real estate’s Broomfield satellite office. They enjoy working with different kinds of people and make sure to treat all of their clients to the highest level of service possible. Moving is a big life change that both Senneca and Melissa have a lot of personal experience with, and they love being able to guide both buyers and sellers throughout the process. “Sometimes change is fun and sometimes it’s not,” says Senneca, “We’ve had clients dealing with grief and been able to help them sell, buy or downsize to start their next chapter. . . . we help make it bittersweet.”

When asked what trends they see in Boulder County real estate today

Boulder County Real Producers • 21 realproducersmag.com

(March 2023), Senneca said, “The homes that have a good Realtor® with listing advice are obvious and still selling really fast. Having a knowledgeable, caring real estate agent makes a difference.” Melissa said, “The trend is quality and professionalism. . . . smart phone photos won’t cut it.”

One way Senneca and Melissa provide that professional quality is through staging. “Most clients already have nice stuff. They just need to stage it,” says Senneca. Something as simple as putting out wine glasses like someone’s hosting a Friday night dinner and putting away family-specific and outdated décor can make all the difference.

Another way Melissa and Senneca standout is by offering smart solutions and being meticulous. This means being very responsive to clients and other industry professionals. Melissa says, “We use numbers, stats and spreadsheets to empower our clients with data. Homeownership fulfills more than a basic need for shelter.” Both women advise their clients that finding the right fit is better than a sale. You can reach Senneca Peters at (720) 383-8833 or senneca.peters@compass.com and Melissa Wills at (303) 618-3436 or melissa.wills@compass.com.

CLEAN-UP

MOLD

MOLD

IN YOUR HOMES & LISTINGS

Even the most beautiful homes may have secrets growing beneath the surface. There are over 100,000 species of mold and fungi.

Toxigenic, allergenic, indoor and outdoor fungi can cause risks to health and damage to property. Mold thrives in damp, warm environments and can grow on almost any surface including drywall, carpets and furniture. Depending on your sensitivities, allergies and immune system, mold can have lasting effects on your wellbeing. The easiest, safest and most cost effective way to deal with mold is to prevent it before it grows. If you suspect a mold problem in your home or building, it’s essential to take immediate action to prevent further damage and potential health concerns. To prevent mold growth, it’s important to understand the causes of mold, risks of allowing it to spread and steps required to fully restore your property to a clean and safe standard.

Realtors, home buyers and home sellers alike should know the earliest indicators aren’t the mold itself. It’s important to not only catch mold before it grows but understand why and how certain areas of the home are more susceptible. The first step in the mold restoration process is to assess the entire property. Rust, corrosion, odd odors and water damage are all factors that can lead to mold growth. Take care to check even the smallest details, such as the rubber gaskets that seal sinks. When preparing a home or property for a sale, buyers and sellers should look for proper water management systems and proper water drainage and at the integrity of non-living spaces like attics. Make sure you identify problems before you begin the real estate transaction; it can save you from the sometimes costly and extensive process of mold restoration.

HOW TO PREVENT &
Article by 24-7 Restoration

Hidden costs can arise from a number of factors and are important to consider when preparing to buy or sell a home. For example, insurance coverage may not extend over a certain amount and the extent of the removal may include gutting an entire room. If you are buying or selling a home or property, be sure to hire a mold certified inspector as a proactive first step. It’s important to identify any problems before you begin the real estate transaction. However, the search for a certified inspector can be overwhelming. Restoration specialists like 24-7 Restoration cover the entire process from finding a certified inspector to referring out for independent testing and conducting the restoration. “We recommend inspectors with an Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) becasue they are specifically trained on what to look for when it comes to mold identification,” says 24-7 Restoration. After self or certified inspection, air testing can confirm if mold is present and give concerned clients a ballpark for what the cost will be. Inspections and testing are the key to making any real estate sale worry free from the risk of mold problems.

If evidence of prolonged water damage is visible or mold has already formed, it’s time to call a professional mold mitigation company. Mold mitigation specialists use the most advanced methods for testing, treatment and refurbishment to eradicate mold and fortify structures so it won’t return. High-end technology such as infrared moisture meters and antimicrobial application to wood and other mold-prone materials are just a few of the tools needed to properly address and eliminate mold growth. The highest efficiency HEPA vacuums prevent cross-contamination and remove spores from the air. Mold spores can be toxigenic and re-contaminate the house if not completely scrubbed from the home. Some home and building owners are tempted to try this without an expert. Many times this ends up disturbing the mold and even increasing it. The full cost of mold removal ranges widely based on multiple factors of the home or building, the degree of mold contamination and reconstruction itself. Restoration can require tens of thousands of dollars to replace interior finishes that are damaged or need to be removed due to mold contamination. It’s vital that all damaged areas are dealt with by professionals as soon as possible.

After the mold restoration process is complete, it’s crucial to maintain upkeep on your property and prevent future mold growth. Fix any leaks or moisture issues promptly. Use exhaust fans in bathrooms and kitchens to remove excess moisture. Ventilate the property to allow for air circulation. Keep all humidity levels in the property low with a high-quality dehumidifier. Clean and dry any water-damaged areas as soon as you see new signs of moisture. Use mold-resistant materials such as tile in rooms prone to moisture, think bathrooms and kitchens. Continue to check areas that are high-risk at least once a month. These post-restoration measures can ensure you won’t have to deal with mold growth again.

Mold restoration is a complex process that requires the expertise of a professional mold remediation specialist. If you have a mold problem in your home or building, it’s essential to take immediate action to prevent further damage and potential health risks. The mold restoration process involves assessing the situation, containing the mold, removing the mold, drying the area and repairing any damage. To prevent future mold growth, fix any moisture issues and ensure proper ventilation and humidity control. By taking these steps, you can protect your home or building from mold growth to keep yourself and your family safe. To save time, money and major home renovations, routinely check high-risk areas and reinforce water fixtures. An extra look in an attic or under a sink may save you thousands of dollars in the future.

You can reach 24-7 Restoration at (303) 485–1730 for a mold check, mold restoration or any of your other home restoration needs.

TYLER MARTINI

RYAN SCOTT &

HYPHEN REAL ESTATE GROUP

It’s humorous to imagine Hyphen Real Estate Group owners Tyler Martini and Ryan Scott talking luxury transactions back on the preschool playground. While these two Boulder kids couldn’t have known they’d grow up and own a brokerage together, they sure did have some fun from pre-K to high school. Martini went on to Leeds School of Business at CU and Scott studied marketing and skied (All-American) at Montana State.

Boulder’s luxury housing market was steadily getting hotter as the guys graduated and pursued other ventures. Tyler ran a food truck. Ryan raced on the slopes in Vail. But the food truck turned into way too many hours for not enough money and the skiing didn’t pan out. Tyler pivoted to real estate, got his license and dabbled with a few transactions for friends and family. Ryan started working as a consultant and project manager in the fiber world. And that’s the point at which their divergent paths crossed again.

“I realized that real estate was a pretty good gig, and I liked getting to be with people and not be stuck behind a desk all day,” Martini recalls. “I hung my license with a company for two years and as quickly as I could got my managing broker license and in 2014 started Hyphen. So I was full-time into real estate and learning a lot about running a business, which made more sense as I got older.”

MEET

realtors giving back

You’d be forgiven for pointing out that Tyler isn’t, well, old. Hyphen’s team of five skews young, and, while that’s not intentional, it’s a fact that this energetic team is nimble and reacts with skill and speed to every bump in the road to the closing table. Hyphen has high expectations of its team as they work to become their clients’ lifelong real estate advisors. Hyphen’s agents leverage a strong background in marketing media, and, with more than $100M+ in sales, expertly advise buyers, sellers and investors in Colorado.

As Hyphen hit the ground running, Tyler and Ryan were also collaborating in a business offering high-end media services including drone photography and videography to real estate brokerages around the world. While it was great to be part of some mighty transactions, a light was about to turn on. “This media thing’s cool so let’s use it to land some high-end listings ourselves,” Tyler proposed to Ryan. Easy sell. Now Hyphen offers this product under its own umbrella as a value add.

The chemistry the pair had enjoyed growing up was apparent soon after they started working together. They balance well and pitch each other ideas with respect. Both having been raised in Boulder is a natural

advantage. “We know the area and the neighborhoods, local schools and outdoorsy opportunities,” Tyler says.

“I think we’re able to relate to people better,” Ryan adds. “People enjoy making that connection. We know Boulder better than someone who moved here later in life. Inside and out, we know how it’s grown as a whole.”

Hyphen is open to growth and expects to bring on a few more brokers over the next couple of years when there’s a great fit. If that raises an interested eyebrow, Scott wants you to know this, “We’re a dynamic team focused on creating a product for clients and brokers that is top-notch. We’re adaptable, we move quickly, we’re well established in the luxury market, and our confidence and standards are high.”

THE ASHLEY HOME

The Ashley Home at 1050 Pine Street in Gold Hill is perhaps the quintessential Hyphen listing. This incredible 140-acre legacy estate features world-class craftsmanship alongside unobstructed views of the mountains. The spectacular property has been featured in Log Houses of the World and exhibits extraordinary attention to detail while offering ultimate privacy, access to enjoy diverse wildlife and captivating views of Long’s Peak and the entire Continental Divide mountain range. With a single owner, The Ashley Home promises unrivaled attention to detail from any property on market. This stunning 5,092-square foot modern mountain retreat features Yellowstone spruce logs, 17thcentury English fireplaces, welcoming country kitchen hearth, antique French provincial doors and a Thomas Jefferson tin roof design. See it at theashleyhome.com or contact Hyphen Real Estate to view it in-person.

At Hyphen’s core is a passion for supporting student athletes, which sets the firm apart. As the only real estate partner of CU Athletics, they have worked hard to creatively and meaningfully support students. First and foremost, for Buff fans and supporters who enlist Hyphen’s assistance in the purchase or sale of real estate, Hyphen will donate 20 percent of the resulting commission to the Buffs4Life NIL nonprofit Collective (just mention the Buff-Hyphen partnership when you contact Hyphen) to be directed toward a specific team or individual to their benefit.

The partnership with CU has been fun! Together they offered $50,000 for a successful football throw at halftime (the fan didn’t win but it was the largest such prize offered in CU history). They’ve conducted the beloved golf putt at basketball games, even offering a two-night stay at the Ashley Home as a prize.

“We want to give back and make our relationship as a business in Boulder symbiotic with CU,” Ryan says. “We put our money where our mouths are as we support the university’s ecosystem.”

Connections matter. And this could be a great one. Get in touch with the Hyphen Real Estate Group at hyphenrealestate.com or call (303) 358.9989.

STRESS

What’s in Your Cup?

@realproducers

LIFE IS LIKE A CUP OF COFFEE

A group of alumni, established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. The conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life. Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups – porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain-looking, some expensive and some exquisite. He told them to help themselves to the coffee.

LIFE PROVIDES THE CUP; WE CHOOSE HOW TO FILL IT.

After all the alumni had filled their cups, the professor said: “If you noticed, all the nice looking, expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones.

“Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to the coffee. In most cases, it’s just more expensive. In some cases, it even hides what we drink. What you really wanted was coffee, but you consciously went for the best cups.

“Now, consider this: Life is the coffee. Our jobs, houses, cars, things, money and position in society are the cups. They are just used to hold and contain the coffee (Life). The cup we choose should not define the quality of our lives. Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy Life.”

While it is normal to want the best for us, it may be the source of our problems with stress. Life brews the coffee, not the cups. Enjoy your coffee. Enjoying life doesn’t mean everything is perfect. It means we have decided to focus on what really matters.

A CARROT, AN EGG AND A CUP OF COFFEE

A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so difficult. She did not know how she was going to make it. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed that as one problem was solved, a new one arose.

Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to a boil. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee. She let them sit and boil without saying anything. In about twenty minutes, she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in another bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a third bowl.

Turning to her daughter, she asked, “Tell me, what do you see?”

“Carrots, eggs, and coffee,” the daughter replied.

Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg. Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma.

Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity—boiling water. Each reacted differently. The carrot went in hard. After being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile, but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened. However, the ground coffee was unique. After being in the boiling water, the water changed.

Which are you? The carrot that seems strong but softens under pressure. The egg that starts with a malleable heart but hardens under pressure. Or the coffee bean that changes the situation around you.

“True happiness comes not when we get rid of our problems but when we change our relationship to them, when we see our problems as a potential source of awakening, opportunities to practice and learn,” says Richard Carlson in Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff
