Club Championships get up and running Cobh snatch points from Kerry FC
It was another cruel evening for League of Ireland newcomers Kerry FC as they gave up a two-goal lead at home to Cobh Ramblers on Monday.
The Tralee-based club are still searching for their first league win at Mounthawk Park and a brace by free-scoring striker Ryan Kelliher looked to be sending them to a famous win.
After losing 3-0 away to Waterford on the Friday, three points and a clean sheet would have done wonders for the players’ confidence but sadly Ramblers staged a late fightback to snatch a share of the spoils.
Substitute Mikie Rowe pulled one back for the visitors and they equalised in the
80th minute via Jack Doherty. The match ended at 2-2 as the Kingdom’s search for that elusive home win continues.
Next up is an away trip to Ferrycarrig Park to face Wexford tonight (Friday) with that exciting FAI Cup match against Drogheda United of the Premier Division scheduled for the following Friday (August 18).
