FRIENDS and family of the late Sheila Mac Kelliher have joined together to host a series of events in her honour and to raise funds for the Kerry Hospice Foundation. Sheila, whose first anniversary occurred on January 31, passed away after a brave battle with illness. In appreciation of the incredible support Sheila and her family received from the palliative care team, her friends and family have organised a number of fundraising events. The first of these events was a coffee morning

held last Thursday in The Dromhall Hotel. This event alone raised a staggering €7,735 for the Kerry Hospice Foundation. A golf classic will take place at Mahony’s Point, in Killarney Golf and Fishing Club. The classic takes place across two days – Thursday, May 4, and Friday, May 5, and an estimated 320 big hearted golfers are set to take part. Finally, three walks have also been organised for Friday, May 5. The 3km, 5km and 10km routes will take walkers through Knockreer Estate.
Registrations for both walks will take place on the day at Killarney Golf Club. Kerry Hospice Foundation funds a wide range of palliative care services throughout Kerry. The care is provided by a specialist team and their mission is to enable people with lifethreatening illnesses to live life to their full potential.
