Required to provided multiple designs based on future students’ interest in the various concentrations and clubs available in the department. Compiled database in FileMaker Pro. Merged designs with database for variable printing. ... welcomes students of all majors and any individuals that are interested! The museum is located on the bottom floor of the Graphic Arts Building (Bldg. #26), Room 116, at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. It is one of the three Graphic Communication clubs, and contains rare letterpress equipment, over 500 fonts of handset type, colored inks, and a variety of papers. SPM prints holiday greeting cards, wedding invitations, bookmarks, posters, and any personal projects that are brought in. Come visit the museum for a tour or to help out!

ICS is the perfect fit for the student that likes a broad variety of the Graphic Communication subjects. A minimum of 18 units must be upper division and a minimum of 8 units must be Graphic Communication. The student will select the courses in consultation with concentration coordinator and department head, and provide written justification for the courses and the way they constitute a cohesive, integrated program of study.

Mat Pica Pi
Mat Pica Pi, the Graphic Communication Department’s student service and social club, provides opportunities for students to establish contacts and build relationships with industry and alumni. Each year Mat Pica Pi sponsors a variety of events including the New Student Barbecue, High School and Community College Visitation Day, International Printing Week, Open House, winter and spring banquets, and the annual Mat Pica Pi Golf Tournament.

University Graphic Systems (UGS)
University Graphic Systems (UGS) is a full-service, on-campus, printing and publishing company managed and run entirely by students. UGS produces high quality publications for the campus, including a daily newspaper often in full color. Eight students comprise the management team and perform estimating, production, costing, scheduling, and inventory control. The students also do their own hiring, marketing, and sales. Approximately 75 students per quarter participate for credit and a stipend.
