Kiilto Pro MAINTENANCE CLEANING with focus on indoor air GOOD MAINTENANCE CLEANING AFFECTS INDOOR AIR

Maintenance cleaning with indoor air in mind Maintenance cleaning is a regular, for example, daily or weekly cleaning. The idea is to maintain an agreed level of cleanliness and ensure that facilities function well between cleans. Cleaning frequency is based on a facility’s purpose and preferred level of cleanliness.

Good maintenance cleaning Good maintenance cleaning affects indoor air. Cleaning textiles should be prepared in a specially designated cleaning room. Employees should take only pre-prepared mops and cloths along. For preparation, use a concentrate of detergent to make a working solution. The cleaning textiles are moistened with the solution. For the easy preparation of cleaning textiles, concentrate can also be added to the fabric conditioner compartment of a mop washing machine. Ready-to-use spray products and bottles are not recommended for pre-preparation or professional cleaning. An aseptic approach, which binds dirt rather than spreading it from cleaned to uncleaned areas, is a key element of maintenance cleaning. Regular removal of upper dust and cleaning of ventilation outlets are also important to maintaining clean indoor air. Keep surfaces free to promote dust-free tops.

Methods Modern cleaning methods, when properly dosed, do not deposit detergents on surfaces. In a moist method the cleaner does not even wet the surface. The mechanics of scrubbers dryer and microfibre mops prevent the accumulation of cleaning agent, by removing any excess solution from surfaces. Better indoor air quality can be achieved with the right cleaning agent and cleaning machines. Machine cleaning methods should be preferred to maintenance cleaning whenever possible, as they are more effective than manual methods. Floors should be cleaned with scrubbers dryer. The detergent solution and dirt removed by the detergent are sucked back into the machine.

Cleaning agents and dosage In general, a very small amount of cleaning agent should be used for maintenance cleaning. The typical dosage is 1–5 ml/1 l water, or 0.1–0.5%. Because getting the amount right is important, we recommend a dispenser or pump for dispensing a cleaning agent. Indoor air is most affected by a cleaning agent’s odour and solvents. A fragrance-free and solvent-free cleaning agent should be used for maintenance cleaning. Another indicator of product safety is the Nordic Ecolabel, which indicates compliance with a number of user safety standards.

YOU CAN PROMOTE HIGH INDOOR AIR QUALITY BY CHOOSING: • a fragrance-free cleaning agent • a solvent-free cleaning agent • a product with the Nordic Ecolabel • an allergy-approved product • a dispenser or dispensing machine • cleaning equipment and machines that are in good condition • floor care methods that reduce basic cleaning Insufficient maintenance cleaning makes facilities less attractive and lowers the value of real estate. Good maintenance cleaning guarantees the safety and cleanliness of facilities and improves indoor air quality.
