For months, you’vebeen planning for the arrival of your new baby. You can’twait to meet your child.....and then, suddenly, you do. Months early. Your life is now changed. The way you experience time is now changed. The wind has left your sails, and you float upon vast ocean of the unknown. There is no map, and the stars have fallen from your sky. The NICU can feel like this. Your child’sstory is unique. That can feel isolating. I’llshare with you the story of my son, Elijah. He was born at 25 weeks. I wouldn’thave known, before all this happened, that he, should have been born at 40 weeks. He fought overwhelming odds, taught our family many lessons, and inspired us in many ways. I can’timagine life without his story. The winds that carry our family may have changed, but the stars that guide the course are now more clear. This is Eli’sstory.
