A Message From The Chair of The Executive Committee Ron Gullis I want to take this opportunity on behalf of the Executive and the membership of The Imperial Court of Toronto to welcome all visiting Monarchs, their Court Members, Honoured Guests and Friends to Coronation XXV, A Wicked Affair – Celebrating 25 Years.

I want to thank all those TICOT Members, our Friends and supporters in the Community, and our Sponsors, iTravel2000.com, The Bank of Montreal, Manulife, Crews and Tangos, Georges Play and Flash on Church for your continued support helping us raise much needed funds for both the PWA Food for Life Program and SOY (Supporting Our Youth). Without you this night would not be possible.

A Message From H.I.M. Emperor XVI, XVIII, XIX, Nelson Jeronimo Chair of the College of Monarchs Council On behalf of the College of Monarchs’ Council, We welcome you to Toronto and to Coronation XXV, a Wicked Affair.

We celebrate with pride and honour twenty-five years of service to Toronto’s GBLT community, the outstanding efforts of H.M.I.S.M. Empress XXIV Dusty Balfour and the membership of The Imperial Court of Toronto.

Thank you to all of our monarchs, those that are present and those that watch over us from above, for your contributions in the establishment and preservation of our philosophies, enabling us to continue to forge a strong unified court.

Congratulations to our five daughter courts, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Hamilton, London and St. Catherines Niagara, for flourishing during this past twenty-five years in the establishment of your own sovereign identities with great monarchs and courtiers allowing you to serve your respective communities with dignity and honour.

Our humble and grateful thanks to our mother court of Vancouver B.C. Canada, for your vision in the establishment of The Trillium Monarchist Society, now The Imperial Court of Toronto twenty-five years ago tonight. Your guidance and example over the past quarter century has been heartwarming and know we will always find comfort that our mother court is always there to guide us.

The College of Monarchs Council is pleased and elated to applaud the continuous efforts of the membership of The Imperial Court of Toronto, for the support of our Court and of the preservation of our Monarchy in Toronto and the Province of Ontario. The strength and solidarity of our membership shall always triumph over those that wish to defy the letters that govern us, offer erroneous advice or act out of disrespect to All monarchs throughout the ICS. We must constantly be vigilant to those that wish to destroy the collective body, and keep to heart the wise advice of our Founder H.M.I.M. Jose Sarria “ United WE Stand, divided they will pick us off one by one!”

A Message From Empress I José, The Widow Norton Founder of the International Court System My Dear Children I am so proud of my children in the great Empire of Toronto and all of your achievements over the past quarter of a century! It is so hard to believe how time passes – may you have a glorious Silver Jubilee Celebrating 25 years of excellence – and may you all have “A Wicked Affair!”

I am so sorry that I will not be able to be join you this evening. These days, I find it more and more difficult to travel and just cannot get everywhere that I would like to. I have recently relocated to Albuquerque, NM and the move has taken up so much of my time and energy. But please know that each and every one of you are in my heart on this joyous occasion.

I would like to extend warm congratulations to Her Most Imperial Sovereign Majesty, Empress XXIV Dusty Balfour on a successful reign and for following the great traditions of your Empire.

The Imperial Court of Toronto will go down in history as having a solid record of service and generosity in your community. Your dedication and good deeds have not gone unnoticed. This year, your beneficiaries are well chosen: PWA Food for Life Program and S.O.Y – Supporting Our Youth. In a time of complacency in our community it is important to remember that our fight against HIV/AIDS is far from over and we must not forget those in need! And our Youth – they are our future and must be nurtured.

Your long-standing history will be visible this evening, by the anniversary celebrations taking place this evening.

I especially hold warm memories of your Double Decade Monarchs, Emperor V Daddy Paul and Empress V Sophie DeLee. It is so very sad when we lose some of our own, but equally joyful to celebrate their lives and hold high their place in our history.

Our history is so important, and tonight you also honor those celebrating 10 years: Emperor XV Tom Ivison and Empress XV Bitch Diva. Enjoy your anniversaries this evening and thank you for sharing it with all of your attendees.

Know that I carry thoughts and memories of all of you in my heart, and may God Bless on this momentous evening.

A Message From Queen Mother of the Americas Nicole the Great Greetings to The Imperial Court of Toronto!

I congratulate the accomplishments of your 24th reign for overwhelming social service in the form of Noble Deeds for Toronto, and the entire province of Ontario, Canada.

Your history of members brings the service of many generations to our International Court System and continues our work of forty-five years. It is a testament to the vision of our beloved Founder, Empress José, who created this wonderful family across three nations.

I congratulate Empress 24 Dusty Balfour. What an amazing effort in this economy, adding to the over $750,000 donated to your chosen charities over the past 25 years. What wonderful charities your organization is helping, like the PWA (People with AIDS) Food for Life Program and SOY (Supporting our Youth), a community development program for youth, in addition to the many efforts with the Emperor I Sergio Appoloni Scholarship foundation in your area, helping many of the youth further their education to improve lives across the world.

As I have always said, it is not the size or the number of members that makes a Court a Court; it is the hard work that is done by those who are devoted to the ideals of service and charity. Toronto, and all of Canada, its people and communities are fortunate to enjoy the presence of your organization, its members and its activities.

This year, the International Court System is raising money and awareness for the support of Youth Issues, which was the purpose of the International Court System proclaiming this “the year of the Youth” and supporting organizations focused on crisis intervention and suicide prevention among Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning youth. We are also spearheading 68,000 Noble Hours, where all Courts are asked to keep a log of their volunteer hours for charities outside of the Court fundraisers and benefits, to toast the end of the year with a total of 68,000 volunteer hours.

Greetings to the 25th Annual Coronation Ball of The Imperial Court of Toronto!

It is my pleasure to welcome everyone to the 25th Annual Coronation Ball of the Imperial Court of Toronto (TICOT). I am grateful to be this year's honorary co-chair.

Toronto is one of the most diverse and inclusive cities in the world and I am proud that we are host to such a fabulous event. For the past 25 years, the fundraising efforts from TICOT have been a significant source of support for programs and charities serving the LGBT community. I am extremely pleased to know that this year's donations will be directed to charities such as People With Aids and Supporting Our Youth.

The Annual Coronation Ball contributes not only to the cultural fabric of our city, but also the social fabric by supporting important social services through its donations.

A Message From H.M.I.S.M. Empress XXIV, Dusty Balfour The Wicked Emerald Empress Good evening ladies and gentlemen, welcome to The Imperial Court of Toronto’s Wicked Affair, A Celebration of 25 years in the community.

As we celebrate our 25th year, I have had many moments to reflect on our history: the strides and hard work members put forth to begin The Trillium Monarchist Society, and the continuing efforts that maintain the Imperial Court of Toronto. I consider myself so very lucky to have been given the opportunity to compile our youthful beginnings to present day. Looking around my community now I have been given a glimpse into what Friendship, Unity and None sense really are. Remarkable is the word best used to describe the community, friendships and family that have been vividly shown to me.

To think of my own history with the Court system in the past five years, from Miss Trillium to Empress XXIV have fostered a greater sense of purpose for the rest of my life. I am overjoyed that I am able to work with Supporting Our Youth (SOY) again. It makes my heart swell that this beautiful group will continue to assist gay, lesbian, transgendered and bisexual youth as they did when I was coming out 8 years ago. To the People With AIDS foundation (PWA), thank you for the hard work you continue to do within our community and the support you have given to us, you are all so very inspiring.

To Jose the Widow Norton, you are as inspiring as you are funny, and I thank you for creating something so wonderful that has affected and changed so many individuals, including myself.

To Nicole the Great, Queen Mother of the Americas, from being a candidate until now, I have gotten advice from you along the way, I thank you.

My spellbinding journey has allowed me to visit dozens of cities, and get to know many wonderful people.

Halifax, you captured my heart when I was 19, and Bruce and Joey did it again! Hospitality is redefined in Halifax, I thank you. Now about giving us Nina and Bunni...Connecticut, Nick and Chanel, awesome! Electra, it has been so nice bumping into you everywhere! Mark Campbell, you are a gentleman and have always made me feel special, no matter where I see you. Now about that carpet fire....New York, Dyna Dynell, I will always remember first meeting you: My name is Dusty, “of Coooooourse you are”!! Penny Candy, wow and stunning! High Maintenance, slamming on your brakes, start running now! You always make me smile, Lyndsay, you child are too many Wicked things for me to say, Tony, B, Tefil, Fantasia, Rob, Charlene, you have always made me feel so welcome, Anne Tique, is it odd I always look for you in a room?

Lita, is it odd you always make me giddy? Jack, your flowers and kind words always make my day! Farrah, there is just something magical about you, I am so happy to have stolen moments with you while travelling, thank you. Gracie, just know that when a girl needs a smile, you are it, I am so happy to call you a friend, you make Helen proud! And about that boat, what’s he called again? Pepper, I have just been in awe of you for years! its not that your hair has its own zip code, but that you are so genuinely nice, now about that doppelganger thing we have going on....Rhode Island, stunning!! All I will say is gas station with Roxxy, always makes me laugh! Big Daddy Austin, you are such a sweet man, enjoy the rest, my sister Jacqueline, between the calls, skype and silly messages, you have become a friend I love and adore! Vienna, so beautiful! Toronto, be so very proud of all your accomplishments! Obstacles are merely a test of endurance, and there have been a few. There aren’t lights bright enough or signs large enough to showcase the talent, care, passion and dedication each and every one of you possess.

Thank you to all the community organizations, The Gay and Lesbian Archives for preserving our history, MLT, Spearhead and TNT! Working together to bridge as one with common goals of bettering our community is a much more powerful force.

Charro, how incredible, much love!!! Maria, thank you from the bottom of my heart, Jason, how ‘bout some cheese sauce, Vitality you make me speechless, Nikki, I thank you for talent and dedication, Farra N Hyte, your talent is impossible to compare, thank you for being gorgeous all the way through! David Hawe, thank you for being so talented, (I still want that dancing cat) I have so many things to thank you for, especially the laughs. To my hard working and dedicated Imperial Crown Prince. Maynard Olsen, you are quite possibly the most outstanding and driven individual I know. So many memories, you made so many one of a kind’s happen, you really know how to treat the world around you to greatness, this Empress is the luckiest. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Kieron, my beautiful and kind prince. I do not possess all that is needed to show you my love. Pinpointing all the moments you have made my life Wonderful is impossible, but I do know that I am a better person. Together we have had so many adventures, you have been by my side to countless events and you have made it impossible to feel anything but proud, strong and loved. I do know that we are now beginning our journey again together, and I cannot wait. I love you Kieron.

Summarizing my year is not possible, but I do know success cannot be found alone and only as a team do we defy gravity. I leave you now, with more knowledge than I had last October, the courage to stand up for my beliefs and more love in my heart than I ever thought I could possibly find.

A Message From H.M.I.H. Imperial Crown Prince XXIV Maynard Olson Greetings and Salutations to all attending tonight’s Coronation XXV - “ A Wicked Affair”. Get ready for an evening that will enchant yet inspire you for many years.

Reign XXIV began with my election to the TICOT executive as Executive Secretary then being titled as “Prince of the Realm” and lastly to be honored by Her Majesty with the appointment of “Imperial Crown Prince”.

The year has literally flown by but not without its trials, tribulations, tears and tom foolery. Many “Wicked” obstacles were encountered and overcome with the strength, determination and undaunting attributes of a most inspiring and relentless determination of the one and only Empress Dusty Balfour. I hope I have served you, the Court and Community well and from the words in the musical “Wicked” – “But know that you’re here in my heart while I’m out of your sight”.

My travels representing Her Majesty and the Imperial Court of Toronto have taken me across Canada from Coast to Coast – St. Catharines – Halifax – Vancouver – Winnipeg – Hamilton – Edmonton and London.

Each Coronation and event attended allowed for the meeting and nurturing of new acquaintances and strengthening the friendship and camaraderie of old acquaintances made over the past 6 years within the Imperial Court System.

The names of the great people are too many to mention – I’d need my own ball book – You all know who you are – you’re all very special people – each in your own way and I thank you for the love and friendship you’ve bestowed on me during our times together.

Each and everyone here tonight deserves a huge round of applause for the volunteered time, energy and varied attributes that have been provided unselfishly to our Courts and Communities to raise funds for Charities and to make the lives of others less fortunate live and enjoy what life can offer them. My “Top Hat” goes off to you!

Thank you for joining us this evening... now sit back, relax and enjoy a truly wonderful and memorable “Wicked Affair”.

The Imperial Court of Toronto - Coronation XXV

October 8, 2011 SOY grew out of a community consultation in 1998, which identified how isolated LGBT youth often were and how alienated from supportive adults they felt at one of the most vulnerable times in their lives. More than 12 years on, though some progress has been made with LGBT rights, up to 40% of homeless youth in Toronto identify as LGBT, twothirds of LGBT students say they feel unsafe in their school communities, and significant numbers of queer and trans youth regularly experience discrimination and violence. It’s clear that the need for focused support for LGBT youth is as urgent as ever.

The SOY program, based at Sherbourne Health Centre, creates opportunities for queer and trans youth and adults to build inclusive, welcoming communities together. Our activities are open to all youth who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, queer or questioning and are between the ages of 14 and 29.

Each week over 250 youth come along to SOY groups and workshops and for one-to-one sessions. And that number – and the scope of our programs - continues to grow. We offer employment and housing support; advice for immigrant and refugee youth; counselling and mentoring; and some great arts- and community-based activities. Our approach is focused on empowering the youth of each generation and helping them to develop their skills and capacity and self-care. What we offer is strengthened by our close relationships with community partners, and the dedication of so many adult and youth volunteers – and of course the generosity and commitment of the LGBT community.

October 8, 2011 Toronto People With AIDS Foundation (PWA) would like to express our warmest wishes for a fantastic Coronation full of fun and celebration after this past year’s hard work. TICOT continues to make a positive difference for over 8,000 people living with HIV/AIDS who have needed PWA’s help since 1987. In PWA’s 2010/2011 fiscal year, we welcomed 316 new clients in need of accessible, practical, direct support services like our Food Programs (Essentials Market, food bank, and Food For Life, home meal delivery service). All our services and programs aim to promote the health and wellbeing of our clients. TICOT’s support made serving these individuals living with HIV/AIDS possible!

PWA is ever so grateful to the TICOT court, Executive and for the amazing efforts of Empress XXIV Dusty Balfour. TICOT’s continued commitment to the community is both honourable and highly regarded.
