Education Fair Brisbane 2025 Program

Page 1

Welcome to the Education Fair Brisbane 2025, and thank you for visiting today!

Now in its third year, we’re thrilled to bring this growing event to the families of Brisbane. Why host such a unique event? Because we know that choosing an education pathway is one of the biggest decisions you’ll make as a parent. It can shape your child’s friendships (and yours!), their interests, achievements, and—most importantly—their happiness. It might even influence where you choose to live!

From school selection to sports, tutoring to uncovering passions, every decision contributes to your child’s future.

Eeek—no pressure, right?

That’s why we created an annual event to save busy parents a bit of sanity—bringing together a wide range of education options under one roof, in one fun-filled day. A place where kids

can try out sports and workshops, enjoy demos and shows, while parents chat with leading education providers, compare options, and explore what’s on offer.

Best of all? Entry is free, the activities are free, toddler meltdowns are totally normal, the coffee is good, and the whole family is catered for.

We hope today helps you discover the perfect learning journey for your child, and sparks an excitement for learning in every kid who walks through our doors.

Have a fantastic day, and remember to give us a follow on socials. We’re a small, mumowned-and-operated business, so your visit and support truly mean the world to us.

AN EDUCATION TO BELIEVE IN MEET THE EVENT PARTNER

WE TALK LIKE A FAMILY. IT’S NOT JUST A PLACE WHERE WE COME TO LEARN AND THEN GO HOME. TEACHERS VALUE YOUR OPINION AND YOUR VOICE MATTERS.

What makes a Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) School special?

It’s everything from the school charism - the spiritual guiding principle that shapes the school’s identity, along with our expert teachers backed by a system of professional learning and cutting-edge research.

When you walk through the gates of a BCE school, you instantly feel a sense of belonging. Our 146 schools across South East Queensland are vibrant communities where everyone is welcome.

While each of our schools reflects the character of its local community, they all share a common commitment to academic excellence and a welcoming environment for every student and their family.

A PLACE WHERE STUDENTS CAN FLOURISH

At a BCE school, relationships are based on mutual respect and understanding.

Our teachers take the time to learn about each student in their classroom, not just academically, but the whole student.

The safety of students is at the centre of how we plan, think, and act, and we strive to create a school environment where our students feel included and valued.

At BCE, we believe our students know their world best. By providing opportunities for them to share their diverse voices, we empower them to shape our schools and reach their full potential.

We know our students learn more effectively when they feel heard, valued, and have a sense of belonging. Our schools embed student voice across all aspects of school life.

“We talk like a family. It’s not just a place where we come to learn and then go home. Teachers value your opinion and your voice matters”— Connor, BCE Year 7 student.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENT LEARNING AND GROWTH

We support our students in achieving their full potential. With a range of opportunities across the arts, sports, and STEM, BCE encourages students to nurture their gifts and talents and make a difference in the world.

Each BCE school embraces a distinct charism that helps shape and reflect the values lived out in its community each day.

Our shared Catholic values allow students to see themselves as part of a community and contribute to the greater good of society.

Your child’s education will not be measured by tests and scores alone, but by how they are creating a life of purpose, kindness, honesty, and compassion.

“It’s very much a holistic approach, they don’t just care about the academics—as much as academics are fundamental—but it really

is around that character formation, helping [our daughter] on her journey as she grows in confidence”—Matt Whittaker—BCE parent.

CHOOSING A BCE SCHOOL

When you enrol at a BCE school, you become part of something bigger—the Brisbane Catholic Education community. This community is a network of outstanding educators who focus on the social, emotional, physical, spiritual, and academic outcomes for every one of our students. At Brisbane Catholic Education, we provide an education to believe in. Visit BCESchools.com to enrol at a BCE school near you.

Australian Early Learning Colleges

A COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE IN EARLY LEARNING

At Australian Early Learning Colleges (AELC), education is more than just preparation for school—it’s a foundation for life. As a proud sponsor of the Education Fair Brisbane 2025, AELC is committed to delivering high-quality early learning experiences that empower children to grow, explore, and thrive. With a philosophy centred on play-based learning and holistic development, AELC creates an environment where children are valued, respected, and supported in their educational journey.

“Our play-based philosophy builds on children’s experiences, knowledge, skills, attitudes, and interests to foster empowerment,” says AELC founder Georgiana Karam. “We focus on children’s wellbeing by supporting families, respecting their culture, and building strong connections within the community.”

AELC believes that learning should be an adventure. Through carefully designed programs, children are encouraged to ask questions, explore their surroundings, and develop a lifelong love of learning. The curriculum integrates

essential academic subjects with creative and physical activities to nurture well-rounded development.

INNOVATIVE CURRICULUM FOR EARLY LEARNERS

AELC’s comprehensive curriculum is designed to provide children with a strong academic and social foundation. The program includes:

• Academic learning: Language, Mathematics, and Science

• The Five Senses course: Eco-awareness, Health & Safety, Social Skills, Arts, and Cooking

• Specialist programs: Engineering, Computers, Drama, Music, and Sports

• Kindergarten program: A structured approach to school readiness

The AELC approach ensures that children receive an education tailored to their individual needs, preparing them not only for school but also for the world beyond the classroom.

LEARNING THROUGH PLAY

AELC is home to some of the most engaging

and interactive early learning environments in Brisbane. The outdoor play areas offer children exciting ways to explore, including:

• City Adventure Zone – Bike tracks, traffic lights, and road safety learning

• Ancient & Archaeological World – A life-sized T-Rex, camel rides, a dig site, and a pirate ship

• Sports & Nature Spaces – Sports courts, a long jump pit, an animal farm with honeybees, veggie gardens, and sand pits

Recent upgrades include an outdoor stage, a water feature, a revamped bike track, and an enhanced farmyard to further enrich children’s learning experiences.

Next door, the Fun Spaceship Indoor Play Centre—also part of the AELC group—offers a wonderland of air cannons, climb-in UFOs, a rock climbing wall, soft play equipment, a giant slide, and more.

ENGAGING VACATION CARE PROGRAM

For parents seeking enriching school holiday options, AELC’s vacation care program offers unforgettable experiences for children aged 5 to 13 years. Activities range from MasterChef days and discos to bike and scooter days at Outdoor Adventureland. Excursions include visits to the Science Centre, Australia Zoo, The Railway Museum, Sea World, and Movie World.

“We understand how challenging school holidays can be for working parents, so we designed a vacation care program that keeps kids engaged, having fun, and learning throughout the entire break,” says Georgiana.

Give your Child’s Imagination the place it deserves in your Family’s Story.

At NXTGENTheory ,we believe every child’s imagination deserves a permanent place in the family story.

90% of children now spends 20 hours a week staring at a screen and that significantly increases into teenage years? Source abs.gov.au

It’s a statistic that should make any parent pause.

In our hyper-digital world, screens have taken over spaces once meant for real connection, play, and creativity. At NXTGENTheory, we believe it’s time to step back from the glow of our devices and reconnect with our children, our families, and the joy of making something together.

Founded by two local sisters, one with over seven years of education experience, NXTGENTheory was created in response to a growing concern: children are losing their natural creativity. What once thrived in schools and on kitchen tables is fading, replaced by scrolling and overstimulated minds.

That’s where our theory comes in: let children be children.

Drawing, outdoor play, and puzzles are more than fun - they’re essential for imagination, emotional wellbeing, and family bonding. When you sit down to draw with your child, something remarkable happens. You’re not just creating art, you’re creating memories.

You’re also building motor skills, relieving anxiety, and creating meaningful moments that last.

We are proudly 100% Australian-owned, use locally sourced materials, and “DONATE 10% OF EVERY SALE” to support Australian education and local charities. We believe in giving back to the community and to the next generation.

Here’s how it works: draw with your child, upload their art to our website, and receive your custom bundle in two weeks all from that one cherished drawing.

At NXTGENTheory, we have an Everyday, Birthday or Festive options to choose from.

Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, teacher, or childcare provider, this is a simple, joyful way to foster creativity.

At NXTGENTheory, we don’t just believe in creativity - we believe it’s essential. So put down your screen. Pick up some pencils..... And give your child’s imagination the place it deserves in your family’s story.

SECONDARY

Alternative Pathways

WHERE HOPE MEETS OPPORTUNITY

How Y Schools QLD is reengaging students in Years 7–12 through alternative learning pathways.

Not everyone fits into the mainstream system. However, everyone deserves an education. Y Schools Queensland (formerly YMCA School) offers tailored educational programs for secondary students who would benefit from an alternative learning environment and a high level of wrap-around wellbeing support.

With 11 campuses across Queensland including Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich and Bundaberg, Y Schools Queensland supports students on their future pathways. They focus on taking the time to provide individual support for students who would otherwise struggle in the mainstream education system.

SECONDARY EDUCATION REIMAGINED

At Y Schools Queensland, education is reimagined to meet young people where they are—and to help them discover what’s possible.

The school’s THRIVE framework is central to its approach, placing relationships, emotional safety, and student voice at the heart of the learning journey. It’s not just about surviving school—it’s about equipping students to thrive in life.

MULTI-DISCIPLINARY APPROACH

The multi-disciplinary program at Y Schools takes a holistic approach to education, focusing on each individual as a whole person. The three-pillar methodology ensures students:

• are supported physically and mentally, with a wellbeing-first approach

• are confident and independent, and in charge of their future destinies

• foster a healthy relationship with lifelong learning, in and out of school.

This well-rounded methodology supports students into becoming happy, healthy, successful and contributing members of our community.

LEARNING THAT COUNTS

Y Schools Queensland delivers the Australian Curriculum with flexibility and purpose. Students work toward meaningful learning goals, including Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) pathways. Students are supported every step of the way and empowered to succeed on their own terms.

REAL-WORLD SKILLS

Y Schools also offers a suite of Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs, which provide practical, hands-on skills in areas like trades, hospitality, beauty, community services and business, opening real-world career opportunities post-school.

OVER FIVE YEARS, THROUGH THE UPS AND DOWNS, THE STAFF’S UNWAVERING SUPPORT HELPED HER GROW INTO A CONFIDENT YOUNG WOMAN.

For one parent, the impact has been lifechanging:

“When my daughter first came to Y Schools Queensland, she was a young girl struggling with anxiety and unable to speak to anyone. Over five years, through the ups and downs, the staff’s unwavering support helped her grow into a confident young woman.

Watching her deliver her final speech as School Leader was one of the proudest moments of my life. We wouldn’t have reached this milestone without the care, patience, and belief of the incredible Y Schools team.”
