This season has delivered unforgettable results for Yulong. Via Sistina’s powerful Cox Plate win was a defining moment for our team, while Treasurethe Moment, a homebred star, captured three Gr.1 victories in her breakout season. Devil Night, an electric juvenile, claimed the prestigious Gr.1 Blue Diamond Stakes, confirming his future as a stallion prospect. These results are not just wins but
the outcome of a bold, global breeding strategy. At home in Nagambie, major upgrades continue across our 3,500-acre Victorian base. Our newly completed state-of-the-art yearling barn and enhanced pasture systems reflect our commitment to raising horses in world-class conditions from the ground up. With thousands of kilometres of new fencing and an additional 120 stables in recent years, the foundations of our growth are well established.
Our 2025 stallion roster reflects the strength of Yulong’s foundation and future. The recent acquisition of More Than Looks, the Gr.1 Breeders’ Cup Turf Mile winner, brings international flair to the barn. Further bolstering the lineup are two exciting Australian-bred colts, Growing Empire, a four-time Stakes winner and Everest placegetter, alongside First Settler, the Gr.2 Danehill Stakes winner and by our own Champion Sire, Written Tycoon
Emerging sires Alabama Express and Pierata are already making their mark, delivering black-type performers from first crops. Lucky Vega made an immediate impact through Within The Law, who claimed the Listed Inglis Banner on debut and Gr.2 Sweet Embrace. At the same time, Tagaloa’s promising filly Spicy Lu followed up her maiden win with a dominant performance in the Fernhill Mile. Grunt continues to produce tough, consistent metro and Stakes performers, and Written Tycoon—serving a private book—remains one of the most influential stallions in the country.
Panthalassa’s first foals arrive this season, bred from a remarkable book that includes multiple Gr.1 winners and elite producers. He brings exceptional credentials and commercial power as a two-time Gr.1 winner on the world stage. Diatonic, a son of Lord Kanaloa, also sees his first yearlings head to market in 2026 - athletic, strong-bodied types from an exceptional debut book of mares.
Our approach remains focused and ambitious, blending global bloodlines to stallions suited to Australian conditions. By sourcing top-quality broodmares from Australia, Japan, Europe, and the USA, we are building a deep, diverse, and world-class genetic foundation.

Yulong’s ascent to the pinnacle of Australian racing was on full display in the spring of 2024. Via Sistina, the Irish-bred mare, turned international superstar, made a stunning spring debut by winning the Gr.1 Winx Stakes. This triumph set the tone for a remarkable season.

October brought a torrent of top-level success. Via Sistina returned to the fray with two more breathtaking wins, first in the Gr.1 Turnbull Stakes and then a performance for the ages in the Gr.1 Cox Plate, shattering the track record and powering home by an astonishing eight-length margin.
On the same Caulfield carnival weekend, Deny Knowledge delivered a bold front-running victory in the Gr.1 Might And Power Stakes; meanwhile, Private Life, the three-year-old colt by our Champion Sire Written Tycoon, prevailed in a thrilling finish to the Gr.1 Caulfield Guineas

Yulong’s spring of Group 1 success rolled into the Melbourne Cup Carnival and beyond. On Oaks Day at Flemington, homebred filly Treasurethe Moment delivered a significant win in the Gr.1 VRC Oaks. Bred and raised at Yulong by our emerging young sire Alabama Express, Treasurethe Moment proved the calibre of Yulong’s breeding program with this crowning achievement.
Not to be outdone, Via Sistina added yet another jewel to her crown just days later by conquering the Gr.1 Champions Stakes, her fifth Group 1 win in Yulong’s bottle green silks. As if to underline the depth of talent under the Yulong banner, Kimochi secured her first top-level win, capturing the Gr.1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes and added further spring silverware to Yulong’s haul. Yulong’s influence also extended across the Tasman, with Captured By Love, a Written Tycoon filly, taking out New Zealand’s prestigious Gr.1 NZ One Thousand Guineas

As attention turned to the Autumn Carnival, the spotlight shifted to the next generation when Devil Night swept to victory in the Gr.1 Blue Diamond Stakes. The two-year-old colt delivered Yulong its first triumph in Victoria’s premier juvenile race, immediately stamping himself as an elite colt and future stallion prospect for the farm.

The ever-reliable Via Sistina was back to her winning ways. The mighty mare picked up right where she left off, opening her autumn campaign with a commanding win in the Gr.1 Verry Elleegant Stakes and then adding a second consecutive Gr.1 Ranvet Stakes to her record.

On Day 2 of The Championships, Via Sistina delivered a crowning performance in the Gr.1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes. She dominated a world-class field and smashed the record; these victories brought Via Sistina’s Group 1 tally for the season to an astounding eight. In doing so, she equalled the legendary Winx’s record for Group 1 wins in a single season. Meanwhile, Treasurethe Moment continued her extraordinary run among the three-year-old fillies. Fresh off her Oaks victory in the spring, the Yulong homebred returned in autumn to sweep Sydney’s fillies’ classics – winning the Gr.1 Vinery Stud Stakes and, just two weeks later, adding the Gr.1 Australian Oaks at Randwick to complete a rare VRC-ATC Oaks double not seen in nearly two decades.
Yulong’s success during the autumn was not confined to Australian soil. On Dubai World Cup night, the familiar bottle green silks were carried to victory as Raging Torrent (USA) claimed the Gr.2 Godolphin Mile at Meydan.

Yulong’s commitment to acquire top broodmares and stallions has paid dividends on the sales floor, with the remarkable results of 2025 the product of Mr Zhang’s vision and investment.
Leading Vendor at Inglis Premier:
Yulong topped the vendor table at the 2025 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale for the second consecutive year, selling 44 yearlings for a sale-high aggregate of $6,590,000. This back-to-back feat underscores Yulong’s consistency and depth of quality, firmly cementing its status as a leading consignor in Australia.
First Million-Dollar Yearlings
Yulong achieved its first-ever milliondollar yearling sales in 2025, kicked off at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale. In a landmark result, the farm’s well-bred youngsters set the ring alight – notably the first foal of celebrated racemare Away Game, and dual Gr.1 winner, In Her Time, each sold for $1.8 million. These results
marked Yulong’s highest prices as a vendor. This was further amplified by the sale of Champion mare Hungry Heart’s first colt for $1.2 million at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale. Her colt’s seven-figure price was a “bittersweet moment” as the Yulong team farewelled a horse that had become part of their story

The strength of Yulong’s stallion roster is measured not just in our results but in the success of our clients. In 2025, the progeny of Yulong sires profoundly impacted the sale ring, delivering standout returns for vendors.
A Lucky Vega colt bred and offered by Yarran Thoroughbreds lit up Inglis Premier Book 2, selling for $250,000 — the second-highest session price. The striking colt showcased the growing demand for Lucky Vega’s first crop, rewarding the breeder’s early investment in the young sire. While at the 2024 Inglis Ready2Race Sale, KBL Thoroughbreds were handsomely rewarded when their powerful Tagaloa colt out of La Magique sold for $440,000.
At Karaka, an Alabama Express filly from Elsdon Park’s draft sold for NZ$340,000, a standout result that further underlined the commercial appeal of Yulong’s stallions. Lucky Vega was also in high demand, with Hallmark Stud presenting a strong, well-made filly out of Outlook, initially purchased as a foal and reoffered at the Karaka Yearling Sale, where she fetched NZ$240,000.
