This enterprising business now caters for teenagers right through to mature fittings offering an attractive selection of clothes sizes 10 - 18. Customers wi11 be pleased to see familiar faces of Mrs Burbidge and Mrs Smith who both previously worked at Mansfields for the 1ast five years.、。 With the assistance of several new faces , customers old and new,can look forward to a very warm welcome and first class attention. Despite arriving breathless,with only seconds to spare,from a hectic Counci1l debate,City CounCil1lor David Thomas Ccarried the day at a meeting held to select the Labour party「s par1iamentary Ccandidate for the Harborough constituency.。 0n Wednesday 7th March,along with three other prospective candidates , 40-year old David Thomas had 7 minutes in which to convince Constituency party members of his winning potential An audience of nearly fifty then subjected each candidate to a session of searching questions. Under new procedures agreed at the 1ast Labour Party Annual Conference this was followed by a secret ballot where each member had a single transferable vote. In the event,no transfer of votes was necessary.。 David Thomas comfortably exceeded the minimum 50% of the votes needed for an outright win and wil11 go on to fight the Harborough Constituency at the next general election. In keeping with the style of his arrival,the winning candidate was not able to stay to hear the result of the vote - he had to dash back to the evening「s business at the Town Hal1l. Primary school teacher,David Thomas wil1 have no need to move house, having 1ived in south Leicester since 1970. He has always played an active part in the local community: as well as holding various posts in the district and county Labour Party,in 1986 he was elected to the City Council.
