The concept of the project was to create o simple and welcoming atmosphere. by designing on orobian themed interior which is carved out of the commercial building within which it sits. The main feature of the cofe was the double height. thus providing natural light and open space.

Three main dining areas on levels ensures privacy and creating unique d ining experience. This kitchen unit acts as a live session as the walls ore halfway gloss on three sides revealing action inside to the customers.

T he materiality of the design is mode with a combination of timber and othonkudi tiles for flooring. balanced by timber planks. structural members. perforated steel partitions. textured walls and granite. The light fittings were pendants created in copper and block tones, both matching to the overall color palette of t he space.

[CDC) The house was positioned along the rear end of the terrain site to utilize the natural topography for landscaping and create a view to the river located along the rear side. This solution is pleasing to the eye and also blends the structure with t he landscape. An uneven flight of steps is carved out of t he landscape t o the entry of tljle house, that connects with large steps to the sitout drea creating a worm welcoming feel.

The main proposal was creating a structure I along with the sunnier facades and the correlc doors of the terrain site.

The goal was a renovation of the building by bringing in the traditional kerolo architecture. and to keep the development type and mosses that ore common in the area and redesign the layout in terms of functionality to be more conforming with today"s requirement s.

The ground floor. previously with rooms that were stretched out. is now more confined with proper circulation between spaces.

The volume which held the kitchen unit was now detached from the new layout and acted as a maid's room and utility space.

Existing L-shaped sit-out area was demolished and thus created a double height sit-out withjali work and pitched roof enhancing kerala architecture. Typical rectangular windows were altered by large arch windows letting in ample sunlight and added to the theme of the house.

The materiality of the design is mode of concrete finished walls. wooden vertical strucuture openings. and white finishes. Adjacent to this black is the main core of the campus. ie. tr demic block and the incubation cum studio block. both these structures are placed around tral introctive green space. The concept of the building pursues to improve communicc combines art and architecture.

The project exhibits a tight simplicity that reflects the program informing about the internal configurations. The academic block consists of theory classrooms, drawing studios all rooms focignt he central interaction area by verandahs and balconies. In addition to classrooms, the block also constitutes a library which overlooks to a waterbody on the rear end.

The interior of the incubation block is designed to be robust and flexible.

The house hod o three meter setbock from the street t hus designed a sitout that blends seamlessly with the garden accommodating o water body. as well as transitional well-lit living room alongside the sitout This resulted in o drive way and garage. with bedrooms stacked up above to maximize plinth area for public spaces. This solution created o private party area at the second floor level.

The idea was to create a commercial multi- functional building housing, retail stores, restaurant,

and hotel. The site is situated in the center of a busy street. the result is a group of volumes with different functions interconnected through circulations axis.

The building consists of o large entronce to the retail

shops and a separate entryway far the restaurant at second floor. The fo<;ode installation brings out the fort design elements such as pillars and arches. which is interconnected with the modern elements. this creates different sensations to the user. The materiality of the design is made with clay brick claddings. concrete finish with toughened gloss . stucco and steel members.
