South Korea Licensed a Saudi Technology A new Saudi technology for petroleum refining industry, invented and developed in KFUPM’s laboratories, has been licensed in South Korea and based-on this technology, a huge refinery of “S-Oil” Korean company would be operated. Now, the new Saudi technology penetrates the global refining industry strongholds. KFUPM is the first university in the region to convert the results of basic scientific research into a technique used on an industrial scale, and generating millions of riyals to the national economy, through the innovation and development of an inductive technology for cracking and producing heavy oil (HS-FCC). KFUPM put significant efforts to attract partners to invest in and deliver this technology
