Tis the Season for Seafood
In the Midwest, we’re not necessarily known for our seafood. But Chicago restaurants serve up plenty of delicious and fresh scallops, fish, and oysters. The fall menu at MICHAEL JORDAN’S STEAKHOUSE (505 N. Michigan, 312.321.8823) includes Caramelized Sea Scallops, served over beef and barley risotto and drizzled with a pinot noir sauce (right). At BUBBA GUMP SHRIMP COMPANY on Navy Pier (700 E. Grand, 312.252.GUMP), there’s a spread on the menu dedicated to (of course) shrimp, with dishes including Shrimp New Orleans, broiled with butter, garlic, and spices, and Shrimp & Veggie Skewers (top left). You may not think of seafood for breakfast, but on SUNNY SIDE UP & COFFEE SHOP’s (42 E. Superior, 312.930.4242) list of benedicts, you can find the Nova, made with smoked salmon, topped with hollandaise sauce and fresh dill.
