The night of 15 November was a very special one on New Zealand’s legal calendar. It was when close to 650 legal professionals – the very best of the best across all parts of the legal industry – gathered at the Cordis Auckland for a gala evening of celebration at the New Zealand Law Awards. Some scooped up prizes. Others provided tough competition. But everyone came together for an unforgettable evening Following a rigorous nomination and selection process, the long-awaited 2018 New Zealand Law Awards finally arrived, packing out the Cordis Auckland with hundreds of the nation’s finest legal professionals. Firms, in-house teams and individuals alike were jostling for pole position in 28 separate award categories. The big winners were announced in a black-tie gala ceremony – followed up by big celebrations as victors and nominees took to the dance floor, accompanied by great musical entertainment. NZ Lawyer has been running the New Zealand Law Awards for 14 years now – and every year it gets bigger and better, and the quality of talent continues to grow.
