To respond to the prevalence of vacant lots in New York City by proposing new building typologies that bolster growing housing demands, community resilience, and public safety.
Using East Harlem as a case study, this project proposes a new typology of public roofscape; one that activates underused rooftops in a manner that stretches the public realm from the street to roof.
Increasing engagement of individual property owners with the city-at large.
