Kevin McCasky An In-Depth Look at Jefferson Parkway

Kevin McCasky Having served as the president and CEO of Jefferson County Economic Development Corporation from 2011 to 2016, Kevin McCasky understands the importance of having roads that community members and visitors can travel easily and intuitively. It hasn’t been the easiest journey. The C470 loop has been an ongoing process that has been picked up and dropped, causing disagreements between various entities. Though it hasn’t been the easiest of projects, he understood the importance of communication and finding common ground to ensure that all stakeholders are heard.

Kevin McCasky The Jefferson Parkway Public Highway Authority (JPPHA) was established by the cities of Arvada and Broomfield along with Jefferson County in 2008 to close the loop. The unbuilt portion of the loop has forced traffic onto quiet neighborhood streets that aren’t equipped to manage such conditions, such as noise and pollution. With a focus on collaboration, the authority has operated by creating public-private partnerships in order to fund, design, build, and maintain this necessary transportation element. The beltway itself has been in the planning process for decades, with over 12,000 acres of land and open space in the area that cannot be used for development.

Kevin McCasky Kevin McCasky knows that closing the C-470 loop is one of the most important elements of creating stronger communities in Jefferson County.
