Kevin McCasky Life After Surviving Cancer

Kevin McCasky As a cancer survivor, Kevin McCasky knows that you will experience many significant life changes after going into remission. After fighting for so long with one goal in mind, everyone reacts differently afterward, and all reactions are valid, though there are a few key points to keep in mind that may be useful to your health and well-being, such as the following:

Kevin McCasky Going back to normal life can be jarring. Cancer can help create community, and no longer having to go to treatments may change the amount of contact you have with those who you have built relationships with. If you find that the community that was important to you throughout the process has dwindled, try to seek out new communities of people to spend time with growing and healing.

Kevin McCasky Some people experience anxiety, depression, fear, or anger afterward because there may have been many feelings left undealt with, and it sometimes happens that they all come rushing back at once when you finally have the opportunity to rest and relax. This is not a strange response, and your network of loved ones and/or counselor may be very helpful to you.

Kevin McCasky Kevin McCasky knows that while all emotions are valid during this difficult time, maintaining a positive attitude and outlook can be a great help in discovering all the new things the world has in store for you post-cancer.
