Theme/ concept: Multi-use development that promotes community through inclusion and equity.
Location: Santa Ana, CA
The proposal for this project focuses on developing a multi-use housing complex in Santa Ana, designed for young professionals seeking a vibrant, community-oriented living experience. The goal is to ensure equal and non-hierarchical housing by offering efficiently spaced, one-bedroom and studio units, along with limited two-bedroom options.
The initial design derives from an “L”- shaped podium structure that integrates commercial spaces, office areas, and a gym to encourage social interaction and promote a healthy lifestyle. Above the podium, residential towers emerge, strategically positioned to provide efficient circulation and maximize communal engagement.
Recognizing that many young professionals live independently as students, interns, or recent graduates, the project emphasizes shared outdoor spaces to foster connections among residents. A widened passageway encourages socialization, while two primary circulation routes lead to central gathering areas accessible to both residents and visitors.
The designed development prioritizes inclusivity, offering amenities and spaces that cultivate a cohesive and engaging community environment where all residents feel valued and connected.

Theme/ concept: Developing a fashion and media arts-related school building that enhances and showcases these in-demand programs that is designed with the urban campus in mind.
Situated in the southern part of Los Angeles, the building was designed with the urban campus context in mind. Its main form was inspired by the cityscape of Los Angeles, with the roof tapering away from the city to reflect the urban surroundings. Located at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Grand Avenue, the building serves as a threshold, connecting the city’s environment to the campus.
Drawing inspiration from Louis Kahn’s Kimbell Art Museum roof, the building incorporates barrel vaults into its design. This architectural feature not only complements the site’s urban context by tapering away from Los Angeles but also allows natural daylight to illuminate outdoor areas and fashion labs. Floor-to-ceiling windows were added to promote transparency, showcasing educational activities to both students and visitors. A standout feature of the project is the open-air fashion runway on the second level of the southern part of the building. Positioned around the building’s atrium, this runway integrates with the urban environment and enhances circulation within the facility.
As an innovative hub and gateway to the campus, the Fashion and Media Arts Center establishes a unique balance between educational and social spaces. A thoughtful pattern of classroom buildings along with open spaces encourages students to socialize and fosters a sense of community. These ample corridors serve as gathering points, further enriching the student experience. Positioned at a key corner of the campus, the building creates a welcoming and dynamic connection between the college and its vibrant fashion and media arts program.

Location: Mt. Wilson, CA
Theme/ concept: Creating a cantilever that extends to the valley by developing a structural system that will not interfere with the views that can be seen from the structure.
The project presents the challenge of designing a small observation facility in a forested area in the Los Angeles County that will be used by scientists and hikers. The primary focus on addressing technical issues related to structure, design, code-compliant ramps, roof, and its envelope composition. The chosen location for this project is Mt. Wilson, offering an ideal environment for breathtaking views and opportunities for animal and vegetation research.
The conceptual approach involves designing a cantilever to serve as an extension for observers. The structual system is envisioned to mimic a typical truss, centrally located within the extending program to ensure an uninterrupted view. This concept creates a circulation system that immerses the visitor without obstructing their surrounding view.
The shelter on the top floor is designed to facilitate research without interrupting the flow of traffic that may occur at the cantilever. Considerations for weather flow and the environment lead to a sloped roof shape, allowing for efficient water drainage and regulating heat for those within the shelter.

Ground-Up Project
Summer 2024
Location: Lynwood, CA
Scope of Work: Through the use of Revit and Vray, the task consisted of developing renders for the Northgate Gonzalez Market company and for the residents of the city of Lynwood on a ground-up grocery store for the city of Lynwood.
The project’s site is currently located in a vacant lot with the opportunity to include not only a grocery store but also a drive-thru Starbucks in the same lot. With our team getting the construction drawings approved by the city I was tasked with converting the 2D construction documents into a 3D model in Revit and enhance the perspective through the use of Vray and Photoshop.
Some of the considerations that were to be included in the renders was the site context such as the I-105 Freeway that is located at the rear of the project. Along with this, a careful selection on the colors reflecting the proposed material choices shown in the construction documents which would be conveyed in a realistical way.

Theme/ concept: Our objective for this project was to craft a habitat for a finch native to the city of Pomona by incorporating natural materials like leaves and branches indigenous to the area.
When looking for a bird to make its home for this contest a team member suggested making a home for a finch that has been leaving nuts and seeds in his porch. When selecting the materials for the bird’s home, our team decided to go for a sustainable approach, choosing to the construct the home from recycled and natural materials. The reason for this decision would be to provide an eco friendly home that the finch would be surrounded by vegetation that is existant in its current urban habitat.

Tropical Radiance 6
Illuminating Engineering Society of Los Angeles Luminaire Competition
Presentation Recognition Award Spring 2024
In the development phase of this lamp, I embraced the challenge of adding a delicate element with a robust counterpart to create a simbiotic relationship reliant on their interdependence. During the base construction, meticulous attention was paid to ensuring its structural integrity to adequately support the lamp. Inspired by the tropical bird of paradise flower, the lamp’s design manifests in each petal-like extrusion adorning the origin of the light. To enhance the design, each petal is outfitted with an embedded LED strip, casting an enchanting recessed lighting effect when viewed from the side. Its adaptable nature makes it ideal for illuminating workspaces, providing the requisite brightness to enhance productivity and task efficiency. The lamp can also be used as a captivating decorative piece, seamlessly integrating into living rooms or studios, where it not only illuminates but also induses the environment with a touch of artistic flair and creativity.
