Clive Myrie

A Virtuous Virgo One could describe Virtuous Virgo Clive Myrie, the new host of mastermind, as a master at overcoming challenge. His beginnings were similar to many Jamaican immigrants; his parents had to adjust to a cold, grey climate and a lifestyle peppered by racist comments and hard graft. One imagines a song on his mother's lips when she looked into her little Clive's eyes, no matter how many needles she had to thread. She was a seamstress in Bolton and he was one of her seven offspring. The lovely lady probably hoped her Clive would grow into a future Whizz kid but could not have predicted he would graduate from the University of Sussex with a Bachelor of Law Degree and go on to become a media star. Clive was soon earmarked as a bright spark at school. He learned to play the trumpet, was great at sports, he loves "the beautiful game" to this day, and was nominated deputy head boy; he never let it go to his head! When he applied to join the BBC, someone important must have spotted his talents and ensured he trained as a local reporter. He soon morphed into an onthe-spot war correspondent in Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq, going on to stand his ground whilst reporting on the Nepal earthquake, Trevor MacDonald was his guiding light, and like the master

newscaster himself, Clive never avoided harsh realities. After all, Clive had to face more than a few. Even when his life was threatened by a far-right extremist and he received a card in the post containing racist abuse and images, he never let torment "rain on his parade". This is a guy "who knows the stuff of prejudice," after all he was awarded the Bayeux-Calvados Award for reporting on ethnic violence in Borneo. He is ready to be attacked on all sides for his take, his charisma his choices. But he is the first to stand firm in the midst of criticism, Virgo style.

Picky Pisces In fact, with that picky Sun in Virgo and super sensitive Moon in Pisces, Clive does not pat himself on the back notwithstanding all his achievements. He is Mr. SelfCritical. This is a guy who does not appear to have noticed he has become a "seriously good journalist!" Clive is probably a closet mystic too; his astro shows a deep side; a spiritual element to his character proved by his addiction to Bach cello suites and the fact he was sensitive enough to learn to play the violin at school. He claims his upholsterer wife Catherine, like his mum, a dapper hand with the needle, encouraged him to claim his dreams. Perhaps she is the power behind his throne a woman who can see through "the game of life" and encourage personal evolution notwithstanding the challenges of a society that needs to learn about tolerance. But then some people might claim it was always Clive who "got the picture", first, even when he was in nappies. Maybe he remembers that time in heaven before he incarnated, you know, when a big angel handing him a blue print saying "this time you have got to do it!" A significant Saturn aspect hammered home hard lessons when he was just a happy kid growing up in Bolton; a kid who wanted to be a journalist at the age of nine. Mr S would have ensured he planned a defined course of action. He learned how to be shrewd in play school, how to appear happy go lucky as he kept himself to himself. He made sure he had enough space to express his ideas. He trusted his inner world.

Saturn probably ensured moral standards, and later a commitment to his fellow man as he held forth on our TV screens. The media world recognised his "versatile, measured and compelling style". RTS Television recently named him "Journalist of the Year" maybe because, as he said, "he is not a robot reading an autocue!" He not only reports the news, he checks into his humanity and self-awareness to deliver it. A well friendly Venus shows a compassionate, sensitive side to his nature. A capacity to adore his loved ones full on. Ms. Venus also encourages his "hail fellow well met" attitude. Mars, on the other hand, regenerates his life, even when he is at his lowest ebb. He looks at a glass half full. He celebrates others' achievements, as well as his own. However, he is the first to admit that the BBC who he is so proud to work for, needs to "up its game!" when it comes to clarity when delivering the news. A Lucky Star After calculating that his sun is probably in the twelfth house, one can only deduce he was born under a lucky star. He literally bursts with vitality: his magnetic aura drawing the right people to him, folks who want to help him climb the ladder of success and use his talents to the fullest. He is not without faults. Sometimes he is a hard nut to crack, he can be stubborn, he can seem distant when dealing with emotional issues and conflicted loved ones. But it has to be faced, some people are touched by the Gods and others reach the pinnacle of success without even knowing how they got there. He knows how he "got there", but also acknowledges the Gods are on his side.

This highly intelligent and knowledgeable man, a “dude” who overcame challenge and stood for his ideals, is indeed a Master of the Mind; but above all of the Heart... Philip Garcia - Astrologer

When life doesn’t go to plan

Bad news and setbacks can catch us all out from time to time, creeping up on us unexpectedly, sometimes with little or no warning. We may react angrily at first, looking for someone to blame, or shed tears and feel incredulous, wondering, 'why me, what have I done to deserve this?' But life doesn't always go to plan and bad news and setbacks have their role in life. It's not uncommon for people to afterwards reflect and appreciate the lessons learned and valuable connections made through having to deal with those tough times. There are many areas that can be fraught and catch us unawares: The ending of a relationship is one area that is familiar to many of us. Even if the end has been brewing for some time it can still be a shock when the final moments arrive. Healing can take a while, as we reconcile to what's happened, lick our wounds and start to build a new life. It may teach us about ourselves, about what we want and don't want from a relationship, who our friends are. We may need to retreat into ourselves for a while, spend some time on our own. But equally, being in a relationship is an important experience that enables us to learn a lot about ourselves and about living in a world where we have to share and accommodate others.

Our business or position at work may become untenable. Our role may have changed or even the company structure may be being overhauled. If redundancy is being mooted, or an important contract or contact has not materialised, cut backs may have to be made and it could be a good time to consider our options as well as our financial position and security. Post-lockdown may be when we decide to action our revised priorities, having started to think differently about what really matters in life. Money and acquisitions may have become less important than time with family, friends, living with less stress, and enjoying our hobbies and interests.

Alternative options often come into their own at a time like this, maybe prompting decisions to down-size our home, go into self-employment, develop a part-time business which works with hours to suit, but also allows us to develop a new interest, consultancy role or career.

Might it be time to let a change in work provide the focus for developing a side hustle; trading more on eBay, turning a talent for organising, software design, baking, dog walking into more of a business.? Some people appreciate being able to barter or exchange their goods and services for things they need. It's a system that can work to everyone's advantage, as they utilise their existing skills, pass on what they don't need or build relationships, support their community and develop their reputation. Fit and healthy people sometimes get hit with a devastating blow when their health situation is impacted and they become unable to work or maybe live an active life anymore. Everything has to change. They have to live with a very different vision of their future now. Learning to adapt, cope with and reconcile to altered circumstances requires learning new ways of functioning. Paying attention to attitude and mental health can be essential as a way of dealing with the myriad of emotions that often surface. When faced with a serious health diagnosis, there's often a need to grieve for the lost future, and work through many emotions; frustration, anger, depression, despair, until finally some form of acceptance eventually arrives. Tough times teach us who are real friends are. Fair weather friends are great fun when the sun's shining and everything's going well, but sometimes

there's a role for foul-weather friends, those people who are there when we need someone to listen to our woes, console us and help us find our feet again. Both are important additions to our lives. Problems give us an opportunity to road test and really trial our plans. Will they survive challenges and obstacles, what are our contingency plans? It's all very well when things work out as expected but bad news and setbacks give us time to reevaluate what we're doing, how we deal with complaints, failures and unexpected limitations. Could interesting opportunities and detours present themselves as options? Sometimes taking another route for a while can provide unconsidered, exciting directions to move in, ways that perhaps would not have previously been thought viable. It's not always necessary to move directly from A to B; sometimes trying out other options, exploring new ways of working can be fun and offer invaluable experiences. It's important to have situations that prompt us to recall the good times, the successes and positive results. It's at those times that we can reflect on our skills and talents and dig deep, knowing that we have the resources, contacts and experience to overcome challenges and move forward. Then we can enjoy the opportunities that present themselves when life doesn't go to plan.

Important September Astrology Dates

New Moon in Virgo You are about to enter a time of new beginnings in both your employment and educational life. A finale to the feeling of a neverending stagnation cycle will be a very welcomed relief to you. Anything you do will help you to find health and harmony in your life. This is a great time to focus in on your intellectual pursuits. Even something as simple as a reorganization of your bookshelf or hard drive will be more successful during this time. When it comes to your love life you really should pour more of your energy into the search, unless you want to be single over the holiday season. If your current methods have not been as successful as you would like, then it is time to change your approach. As it has been noted, you may find yourself kissing a lot of frogs before you find your princess/prince.

Venus in Scorpio This is a mesmerising time as you get focused into the unseen parts of peoples lives. You are utterly fascinated by some of the most meticulous details of the ins and outs of how others behave when they are not around you. While this is natural curiosity, you should be mindful of your questions especially when others are around. Some people do not have “not safe for work” mentality right now and they are more than willing to share when asked. You will also want to be careful to not let your tongue get too far ahead of your thoughts as some may take that as a romantic invite when you weren’t offering one. If you were offering, do not get upset if they fail to accept your proposal then and there. Others are looking to make a long-term or even a one-night connection, and you may find you are the centre of their, long kept quiet, secret desires.

First Quarter Moon One of life’s greatest needs is to unearth the meaning of existence; for you, this goes far beyond ascertaining and determining the home/work/eat way of life. You want your life to amount to more than just getting by; you feel the need to make a difference, and this is the exact time you should begin thinking about what that means. Ask yourself what it is that has made life no longer fulfilling; is it work, love, community, family, spiritual, or something else. Other parts of your life may not feel as secure as they used to, jobs and friends often disappear through no fault of yours but having a personal goal and desire will help to anchor you to the world. Look for a path of least resistance to find the acceptance to your ideas and future plans. Mars into Libra Your desire to act is discouraged by the lack of need in others to change what they see as already working. Instead of banging your head against the wall trying to get others to move, take a break for now but be resolved on getting others to progress. You can move mountains, but you may have to do it one boulder at a time. As you tackle the problem, your best efforts are in finding a win-win pathway which others can use to justify moving towards your side. It may take time, and a whole lot more talking than you are accustomed to, but if you are passionate about your project, you can win not only the day but the whole battle given enough time. When in doubt as to which approach to take against those who stand against you, go with your gut. You have the talent to succeed, you just have to have the desire to see this plan through to the very end.

Vesta enters Scorpio Your focus turns towards the home and loved ones now, causing those desires to build a lasting home with someone special. Although these thoughts may not have found a foothold in your life before, the reality is – nobody wants to be alone forever. Work and friends are a great distraction for a home life but neither of them has the potential to last forever. If you are at a loss for a place to start looking, you may want to go back to your childhood and look at the places which held a special meaning in your heart. Once you have focused in on what truly makes you happy, then you can search out places close to your current dwelling which produce the same feelings inside of you.

Full Moon in Pisces This is time of deep compassion and empathy which will have you sharing your personal feelings more than usual. While that might feel scary, just remember you are not in this fight alone; all those around you are feeling the same as you do. Let your imagination run wild and you just might find a new outlet for your creative energies. You may find yourself looking skyward for more direction and a higher meaning to your life. Keep your eyes open and the right opportunity will present itself. New ideas and openings, previously hidden from view, come into focus and have you wondering why you did not see them before. Instead of letting yourself get distracted asking how you missed it, a better use of your time is in getting all the information needed to help you get moving forward. Fall Equinox - Sun enters Libra Get ready for several new and exciting changes in your life. Although it may have felt like summer would last forever, the reality is nothing lasts forever. If you have been waiting on preparing for the future, then wait no longer. In fact, do not be surprised if you feel like you are behind the pack on the last leg of the race. Don’t fret about it; just buckle down, do the work, and you’ll find yourself in the lead in no time at all. You will want to complete your outdoor tasks early so you have time to focus in on the home and the return of holiday company. Your love life is also about to make a change as your desire to bring someone into the family becomes a much larger concern.

Neptune Quintile True Node Your dreams of the future and how you envision your life is all you can think about right now. It is not as though you are on the wrong path, but are you on a path which can lead you where you want to be? If you are on a path which works for you, then consider how you can move forward a little faster. If you aren’t on the path to your dreams, then this is a good time to start to imagine how you can get there. This change is not so much a call to action on your part, but instead a reminder that we can get so caught up in the problems of the day-to-day world, we can find ourselves spinning in place without even realizing it. Time waits for no one, even you.

Mercury in retrograde When it comes to Mercury going retrograde, you can almost shudder with the fear as this event will affect your life in areas of communication, technology, and travel; mishaps abound. While this time can be a challenge, that doesn’t mean it has to break you. In fact, this break in the routine allows you time to look inward and provide the potential for real growth. So instead of looking currently with regret and anxiety, think of this as a challenge, giving you the tools and strength, you need to grow as a person and to boldly envision who you want to be from this point forward. Although you may learn to see this time in a different light, you should still be conscious of the general frazzled environment this time brings and avoid travelling as much as you can. You should also be taking extra care to ensure you are very clear with all your instructions.

Last Quarter Moon The moon is in its last phase and its placement should remind you to take any actions you have been putting off and to finish up any projects which are so close to completion you can see the finish line. Everything has a start, a middle, and an ending. Everything must end, but only so it can open space for a new beginning later. You must accept your part of this circle; take responsibility for your actions and the role you play in wrapping up parts of your life which are no longer working for you. Do what needs to be done but be quick about it. This is not the time to dote or be passive about your word choices. Being open to success means being responsible for yourself.

Everyone knows regular exercise and physical movement is vitally important. For overall health and well-being, in a variety of different ways. From improving your mental health, to your physical health. At the same time though, everyone struggles to maintain their fitness routines from time to time. Whether it’s life getting in the way, or just not having the motivation to keep going. Switch up your unhealthy mindset when it comes to exercise! Get a fitness habit to stick, without feeling overwhelmed. Whether it’s pelvic floor exercises you’re simply looking to implement in to your routine. Or perhaps something a little more strenuous like a sprint on an exercise bike. Here are a few health & fitness tips that might help you keep at it long-term. Have A Goal In Mind If you have a goal to work for, it makes it so much easier to aim for. Being able to tick off the days as you get closer to reaching it. We all have particular landmark events and situations that stand out to us. Perhaps it’s your wedding day coming up so naturally you want to look your best. Or perhaps it’s an event or competition you’re looking to take part in so you need to be at your peak physical health. Naturally we want to rise to the occasion for these events in our lives. It also helps when aiming for something like this. However, you shouldn’t rely solely on a goal to keep you motivated.

If you’re planning your wedding, for example, and looking to fit in to the dress you picked out one size too small. Or, you just want to look especially toned on your big day. However, feeling good on the inside is just as important as looking good on the outside. Similarly, when you’re consistent with exercise, it will always feel easier because it’s become part of your routine. If you can fit it into your daily lifestyle without really noticing then that’s what’ll make it last. Like brushing your teeth, or having a wash. Not things you probably enjoy but you do it out of habit – and wanting to be clean! One of the best ways of getting self-motivated to be consistent with a fitness habit, would be to sign up for an event. A race perhaps, at a particular point in the future. Instead of just setting yourself a goal like “I will be able to run 5k without taking a break by…” If nothing else, you’ll likely feel invested enough that you won’t want to show up to the event unprepared.

Use A Habit Tracker Whenever you are trying to establish any habit – and a fitness habit is certainly no exception here – using a tracker and trying your best to create a decent habit streak can be a very powerful and rewarding approach. At the same time, start your habit small so that you are not disheartened or put off at an early stage, but can rather get that habit properly entrenched before making it more difficult. Whatever your reason to get fit, or to practise those pelvic floor exercises, we hope these tips will help you get there.

Find A Form Of Exercise You Enjoy All too often, people get into the habit of viewing exercise as some kind of gruelling form of self-punishment that they have to suffer through for the sake of their health. But while exercise can be exhausting, and you might not always be in the mood to get moving, there are all sorts of forms of exercise and physical movement out there – and some of them are bound to be more enjoyable for you than others. How do you measure success?

How do you measure success? Do you see it as winning big contracts, promotions and pay rises, awards and effusive letters of appreciation or are you happy with a simple 'thank you', knowing that you've done a good job? Or maybe more free time is your vision of success. It's easy to lose sight of the fact that some people measure success as simply getting out of bed, washed and dressed in the morning. Yes, medals, certificates and accolades are all well and good but moving from a low point towards a successful end result can require real courage and tenacity. Indeed, not every day can be a massive success and not every day witnesses great achievements and newsworthy outcomes. So, what about those times when there are no successes to report, no great reasons to celebrate? Let's first consider the people who are built for success, those people who've made and lost millions, sometimes several times over. They know about success and understand the drive and vision needed, the tools required to grow, thrive and excel, how to view setbacks as learning points. They have the tenacity and resilience to see beyond challenges, rarely considering failure an option. These people recognise opportunities to be flexible and reevaluate the big picture, ready, if necessary to take a detour along another route. They have the mindset and determination to see beyond any hurdles, and are able to apply that focus over and over again. It's important to reflect that the time spent identifying and growing the skills required to succeed is in itself a significant investment in any eventual achievement. Turning up is the first positive action, demonstrating that you're ready and willing to learn and persevere. So, making that phone call, sending that email, attending that networking event are all important foundations on which to build.

staff, though this may initially feel like an additional stressor, rather than an exciting success. Utilising the services are especially important at this time, of a therapist, business coach or mentor, along with gentle encouragement. mixing with like-minded people who understand and are supportive, sharing and discussing problems with family, friends or professional groups are all ways that can help you manage stress and find positive ways to cope.

Think about baking a cake. There are many tasks required before the reward of a beautiful confection arrives; shopping for ingredients, ensuring you have the necessary kit, knowing what to do, the recipe, how long to bake it for all adds to the end result of a delicious cake, and all are mini-successes in their own right.

Success often includes learning new methods and skills, being flexible, adaptive, a team player when necessary, being receptive to different ideas, prepared to delegate when others have more time or expertise. Plus, self-care, attention to quality sleep, eating, breaks, exercise, needs to factor in too. Doing this is a good way to instil an enthusiastic mindset which focuses on a rewarding endgame. And in business, success may include outsourcing or hiring other members of

However, if work has become a thankless environment some people may feel stuck, with few options for change. Choices are often limited when there are children to care for, a wage to be earned, friends and family to accommodate. But people in those situations may eventually vote with their feet and walk away. Or succumb to stress and ill-health. On average, UK workers take 5.8 sick days each year, at a cost of £723.80 per employee or £77.5 billion to the economy.

The work environment needs to be considered when management are assessing staff performance and their ongoing commitment to results and growth. Setting goals that staff feel are relevant and important, that motivate them to stretch themselves and succeed delivers important benefits to all involved. As does being understanding and providing the relevant support.

So, whenever you feel that you've no successes to report, start by giving yourself credit for each small step along the way. Even things like having a shower, making a phone call, sorting your inbox, filling out a form, can be significant results in your day. Sowing and nurturing the seeds, keeping focused, supporting good habits all encourage your vision on your journey to whatever success looks like for you.

Don't worry about those who seem disinterested in your training; they will quickly fall by the wayside, while the engaged pupils will remain. The New Moon on the 7th could bring an exciting opportunity to expand your knowledge. Taking an intensive online workshop is strongly advised. In the middle of September, you will be entrusted with whipping a chaotic department into shape. Use your leadership skills to create a lean, efficient team that is highly successful. On the 20th, the Full Moon will deliver great news about a troubling family or neighbourhood matter.

AQUARIUS Your love life will sizzle with excitement at the start of September. If you're single, you'll attract a seasoned traveller who enchants you with their wit and sophistication. The New Moon on the 7th is ideal for going on a first date. If you're already in a relationship, give your amour a beautiful token of your affection. Try not to give in to pessimistic thinking about your professional prospects in mid-September. Once the Full Moon rises on the 20th, you will be feeling much more positive about your financial future. A relative's erratic behaviour could make you feel guilty about pouring all your energy into work. Don't beat yourself up for pursuing a stimulating career. Someone with your intelligence can't thrive in a boring job.

PISCES Be realistic about a partnership at the beginning of September. Instead of expecting a perfectionist to go with the flow, give thanks for their high standards. If you're single, the New Moon on the 7th could bring your dream partner into your life. Stimulating conversation will pave the way to passion. If you already have a significant other, this will be a great time to start a business, schedule a trip or relocate to another part of the world together. Silencing your inner critic is critical to your health and happiness. The Full Moon on the 20th grants a cherished wish; celebrate this victory with a friend who has always supported your pursuit of this goal.

Benefits of CBD Oil

The benefits of CBD oils are endless. It’s 1 of over 100 chemical compounds found in the cannabis plant. Unlike its psychoactive counterpart, THC, when you consume CBD, you don’t feel the ‘high’ that’s typically associated with marijuana use. By adding it to your daily health and wellness routine, you’ll reap the benefits of CBD. This medicinal compound can offer a host of attractive health benefits without any side effects. I’ve been using CBD oils for the last few years now and find it great for reducing my levels of anxiety. A few years ago i would struggle almost daily with anxiety. Some days to the point where i couldn’t leave the house. These days it is almost non-existent. I mainly put this down to a better, healthier and more balanced lifestyle. Being less stressed and having more time to myself to unwind and relax. However, i do feel my twice daily dose of CBD oil has helped keep me feeling more balanced as well. I was slightly dubious about starting to take CBD but after doing my research, i felt more at ease.

Pain Relief The human body contains something called the endocannabinoid system (ECS). This system regulates a variety of essential functions such as appetite, sleep, pain, and immune system response. The body naturally produces the endocannabinoids. These are neurotransmitters that adhere to receptors in the nervous system. CBD impacts this endocannabinoid receptor activity and reduces inflammation and pain when it interacts with neurotransmitters. Reduce Anxiety and Depression According to the World Health Organisation, depression is the number one contributor to disability around the globe. Anxiety is at number six and is growing rapidly. Mental health issues often aren’t treated properly, even these days. Many of these issues still aren’t seen as real illnesses, especially if you have an older GP. They tend to ‘treat’ the issue by giving you over the counter drugs that come with severe side effects. Sexual dysfunction, headaches, drowsiness, and insomnia. They can also be very addictive and can contribute to substance abuse. For those who don’t want to deal with these negative consequences of treatment, CBD oil offers a solution. Studies have demonstrated it can act on brain receptors for serotonin. Serotonin is the neurotransmitter that regulates mood so CBD oil is perfect for improving mental health.

Better Skin Another great use is CBD for skincare. Acne affects people of all ages and is a pain to deal with. However, recent scientific studies found that CBD can help treat acne naturally. This is due to its anti-inflammatory properties and the ability to reduce the production of sebum. CBD prevents these glands from working excessively. It also exerts antiinflammatory actions to prevent the activation of “pro-acne” operators. One benefit of CBD oil in skincare is that it has soothing and calming properties. Its calming effects can help minimise issues such as redness and inflammation. The best known benefit of CBD is that it’s great for getting rid of those nasty wrinkles that come with age. The antioxidants in CBD oils help lessen the visible signs of ageing. The amount of other amazing sources of antioxidants available is vast but CBD is meant to be the best of the bunch. It’s definitely one you should consider, especially if you want a more natural option. Neuroprotective Properties Researchers believe that CBD can act on the endocannabinoid system and provide benefits for individuals with neurological disorders. One of the most prominent uses is to treat diseases such as epilepsy and M.S. Another example is the use of Cannabis in treatments for Dravet syndrome, a complex childhood epilepsy disorder . Studies show that it may even reduce the progression of Alzheimer’s disease. The Lifestyle Blogger UK

BW (Derby) “I always felt that children would be an automatic part of my life as I got older and more settled in my life. But now I am with a partner who has grown up children of his own. He doesn't want to start another young family. I feel torn as I love my partner and want to spend the rest of my life with him. What can I do?”

- Might there be alternative ways that would enable you to satisfy your desire for children? Some people find that working with children, even in a voluntary capacity helps a little. Other people find that by doing this it simply serves to reinforce their desire to have children of their own.

Maddy asks “I'm a Capricorn and so is my dad. We love each other very much, but often clash. He's at the beginning of Capricorn and I'm at the end, is this why?” Maddy has four planets in Capricorn, these being: the Sun, Mercury, Venus and Neptune. She also has a strong Aquarius feel to her chart. In some areas her views and her dad’s views line up and this is when they will get along fine. When they disagree, they can both become obstinate and neither will want to be the first to extend the olive branch. With the Aquarius influence, it will probably be Maddy who is the one to show more forgiveness and understanding. Although Maddy and her dad might clash in their views and their approach to life, providing they communicate calmly and show respect for each other, they will continue to agree to disagree. Their family/blood ties are very strong.

Leanne asks “I have overcome some bad habits, but keep finding myself replacing them. Do the stars say why?“ Leanne has the Sun and Venus in Libra. Libra is the sign of balance so in giving up one thing, she will automatically want to replace it with another. In recognising this, Leanne might take another look at her life and work out which habits are detrimental to her health and wellbeing. These are the ones she is likely to keep returning to or trying to replace. Her aim should now be to break these habits and to replace them with new ones that are healthier and more positive. She should also have more faith in her ability to overcome bad habits for believing is the first step to achieving.
