Obituaries Robert Anthony Scheerer Robert Anthony Scheerer, 69, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, at University Hospital, Newark, from injuries sustained after being struck by a car. Born in Jersey City, Mr. Scheerer lived in Long Island and later moved to Kentucky before moving to Kearny 18 years ago. Robert was a taxi driver for Schuyler Cab in Kearny for the last four years. Prior, he drove for Black & White Taxi Co., Bloomfield, for three years. He is survived by three children, Shawn Scheerer, Jennifer Alessandro and Melissa Scheerer. Robert was the brother of Fred Scheerer, Dorothy Hopf, Norma Scheerer and Helen Spalding. He was predeceased by his siblings, Mark Scheerer, Roberta Costello and Mary-
